Caution: Preventive Maintenance Caused Leak -- Company Refuses to Fix Without Liability Waiver…read more We purchased a preventive maintenance plan from George Cunningham Company expecting professional service and peace of mind. Instead, their technician capped the secondary drain port, which caused water to pour from the air handler, damaging our floors. A second technician later confirmed that the drain pan was broken. We reported this in detail on July 17, and since then -- no one has called us back, repaired the damage, or followed up. The company offered to replace the drain pan only if we signed a waiver releasing them from all liability. They also said they would clean the coil "as a goodwill gesture." But that doesn't fix the damage they caused, nor does it excuse weeks of silence while we've had to rely on a portable AC unit in extreme Texas heat. We've now filed complaints with the BBB and TDLR, and are sharing our experience to warn others. When a company causes a problem, hides behind a waiver, and refuses to take accountability, that's not professionalism -- it's negligence.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by Aire Serv and the lack of regard for its customers. I was scheduled for an appointment today, May 15, 2024, between 12:00 and 1:00 PM, but no one showed up. This is extremely frustrating as I have been waiting to resolve an ongoing issue with my HVAC system. Additionally, a technician was supposed to speak with his boss yesterday and report back to me, but I have not received any communication regarding this matter. This lack of follow-through is unacceptable. The problem I am experiencing involves a motor and a drain that, according to Aire Serv, was installed correctly. However, the drain makes noise, particularly at night, which is quite bothersome. I was told that I could hire a plumber to reroute the drain lines, but this would require breaking up concrete, which is an unreasonable and costly solution. I expect Aire Serv to take responsibility for resolving this issue without further delay or additional cost to me. The company's representative is Angel Rodriguez. if I could give less than one star, I would!

My A/C broke down on 4/18. I have a home warranty and contacted them to open up a claim. They…read moredispatched this company to come and diagnose. The tech said it was the fan motor and it needed to be replaced. He said he would report this to the home warranty company for approval and the faster we do it the faster it's approved. Well today, I get an email from the warranty company with a write up per the tech saying the A/C is not to be installed in the southwest region so therefore it's "illegally installed." Funny how when the tech was at my house, he never mentioned this to me. However per Carrier (the A/C manufacturer), Texas is in the south east region. Also per ICC standards, Texas is in the south east region. I called the warranty company back and they said to contact the contractor (Air Serv of Harlingen). Upon talking to Angel, the owner of the company, I asked what specifically he was referring to that said Texas was in the south west region and he couldn't tell me. He only said "according to the U.S." I said that he was wrong and according to the manufacturer and ICC, Texas is in the south east region. Why would our home builder "illegally" install all these A/C units? I asked my neighbors and their units also have the "do not install in the south west tags." Is the whole neighborhood illegally installed then?? So while Air Serv of Harlingen and the warranty company are in need of some geography lessons, my family is still without A/C. Moral of the story how are you going to claim there's a sticker on the unit that says "not to be installed in the southwest" FROM THE MANUFACTURER but then ignore the manufacturers map on where the southwest is?? Truly pathetic service.
