3 yrs ago we decided to redo our HVAC system and ducts and we got different quotes and settled on G. Cunningham. Turned out to be the biggest mistake. We were sold a new type of system that has been problems since day one. The install itself was bad and and they kept coming out to redo or replace things done. We've not gone a whole year without needing to repair or replace parts. Yesterday we had a leak in the ceiling of our front porch. I started to tear into the ceiling to fix the problem and it turns out that a secondary drain that they said would be removed was actually just pushed up in the ceiling and the hole was covered. That drain was never taken out and I had water dripping ruining my front porch ceiling. I've since stopped calling Cunningham as of almost 2 yrs ago because they never left my unit working without problems. I still owe on this unit as the charged me over 20 grand for. The owner at one point wanted to come out and see the unit and I welcomed the idea but he never came, never took my call, never returned my call, and always had his manager or his sales guy call me. If you say you're going to do something, then please do it. Part of the reason I went with Cunningham was the great reviews on here but I guess I have to be the one. Please do better. read more

Caution: Preventive Maintenance Caused Leak -- Company Refuses to Fix Without Liability Waiver We purchased a preventive maintenance plan from George Cunningham Company expecting professional service and peace of mind. Instead, their technician capped the secondary drain port, which caused water to pour from the air handler, damaging our floors. A second technician later confirmed that the drain pan was broken. We reported this in detail on July 17, and since then -- no one has called us back, repaired the damage, or followed up. The company offered to replace the drain pan only if we signed a waiver releasing them from all liability. They also said they would clean the coil "as a goodwill gesture." But that doesn't fix the damage they caused, nor does it excuse weeks of silence while we've had to rely on a portable AC unit in extreme Texas heat. We've now filed complaints with the BBB and TDLR, and are sharing our experience to warn others. When a company causes a problem, hides behind a waiver, and refuses to take accountability, that's not professionalism -- it's negligence. read more

Called to inquire if they had an air filter for the Generac Guardian 24kw and the employee stated that they have a kit for maintenance. However, the kit isn't sold to the public rather only for service calls. I'm a self-made man and don't need someone to charge me for an oil change or to replace a spark plug. I wouldn't do business with this company if my life depended on it. HARD PASS! read more

My HVAC unit is still under warranty. This company installed the unit several years ago. I even purchased additional warranty. My unit stopped cooling two weeks ago. I made an appointment. The tech took 90 minutes to tell me that a valve was loose and needed to be tightened. He also added two pounds of coolant. My bill was $475.00 The unit stopped cooling a few days later. I do not want to call this company back. Everytime they come to check I get another bill. My wife and I are both senior citizens. Shame on George Cunningham. read more

I was just trying to upgrade my thermostat and only needed help connecting one wire. Problem was fixed in under 5 minutes. Was told it would be around $90 and I didn't have a problem with that. I called this company to have them diagnose an odor being emitted from the vents in my air conditioning. The tech came out and did just that. He gave me a set price of three actions. The office invoiced me for all three. I decided to only do two of the items and let them know. They said fine and scheduled an appointment. A couple of hours later they called and said they had to raise the price by $100.00 even though I had a written bid for the lower amount. I refused and cancelled the service. Clearly this company cannot be trusted to keep its word and what they put in writing means nothing to them. Not only will I never use this company but I will tell anyone who asks that they are unprofessional and cannot be trusted. read more

5 years ago George Cunningham installed my new 3.0 Trane through Lowe's, Paid more because it was a Trane, when delivered/installed the Unit was a 3.5 due to they did not have the 3.0 in stock, great deal you would think. Well the unit had to have repairs less than 2 year, Labor was not covered in the warranty. Again this month the compressor went out, plus valve cap were missing. 1. This company obviously used the 3.5 scam to install a faulty unit. 2. when I mentioned the caps missing they blamed someone else they had removed them. (This was sooo unprofessional) I would not recommend this company to anyone. The company that ended up doing my repairs replaced the CAPS no haggle no charge. read more
