None & Done~ First time appointment with Steven. I showed up a few minutes early, used the restroom and sat down in a chair behind Steven, who was on his cell phone. A couple minutes after my appointment time, he continued scrolling messages, gave me half a look and called a customer to leave her a message about a certain color for her hair. Lezlie Green is the best hairdresser I have ever worked with, hands down. This includes my crazy days in Beverly Hills when I would pay upwards of $200 for a men's haircut at Vidal Sassoon on Rodeo. She is an artist and takes the long view when she starts cutting your hair. Mine has just gotten better and better since I started seeing her a year or so ago. Think about it, how many staunch heterosexuals write a Yelp review about their freakin' haircut. Exactly. Because Lezlie deserves the public praise, I'm doing it. Do yourself a favor. Go see her. IF you can get in, mind you, because she's often fully booked. My whole family goes there, even my 73 year old father who has no hair to cut but still wants to do the best damn job with what he has left. It was part of my time with my mother and I grew accustomed to the smells and salon chatter. I came here after seeing brochures in the Waterstone Spa after my massage treatment and decided to continue my day of pampering with a hair cut & color, and a manicure. Since it was such an impromptu decision, I called after getting out of the spa to see if they had any openings they could squeeze me into. They were very accommodating and were able to take me right away. Miranda did my hair and she was wonderful- did a great job and was really friendly, witty, & fun to talk to. I love the Kevin Murphy products they use at this salon and Miranda went above & beyond, giving me samples and writing down suggestions on some of the products I had asked her about. After my hair treatment, I had my nails done.. I am SO sorry, I can't remember the girl's name who did them but she was wonderful and also very friendly. The best part was the price...both girls were offering specials (free haircut with color and 50% off nail services) so for a manicure, haircut, and color, my total came to $80. This is usually around what I pay for a cut alone! Everything about this place made me happy. read more

When I finally brought to the chair, the desk was covered with hair. Where am I supposed to put my bag?I was holding it for the entire time I had hair cut. This place had so many great reviews so maybe my expectation was very high but honestly, nothing impressed me at all. People seemed unhappy to work there and I did not like the atmosphere. $50 plus 15% tip for hair cut, I will go to someplace that I feel more relaxed and comfortable. read more

I love this Salon! Great atmosphere, great local art on the walls, (which the owner say's changes every 6 weeks). Had a 2 hour pedicure for my much needed to be pampered feet with Jessica and loved every minute. She had good recommendations, used a special soaking salt which she topped off with fresh lavender. Heavenly. This is my third relaxing, experience with Jessica and I highly recommend her - finger and toe delight! The best value I have found is her nails don't chip between visits. Lezlie has been my hair stylist for many years. I have been coloring my hair for too many years and Lezlie has always done a great job with it. THAN, 2 years ago, she saw on Halloween with a White Wig on and remarked "You could wear your hair white versus needing it colored by the 3rd week. It took her 2 years to talk me into letting it grow out to it's natural color. White/Platium Everyone likes it better on me and tell not to color it. That it makes me look lighter and 10 years younger. They ask me what made decide to go this direction I tell them the story and say would you believe a hair designer tell not to color your hair because of a wig? She was so right. In November I went to Steven, based on Yelp reviews, I asked for just a trim and to keep the line of my previous haircut, which had last been done in September. The last time I had such a butcher job was when I cut my own hair with my brother's straight razor in high school. He used thinning shears to completely destroy the line and left big gaps in two places. It's taken almost five months, with help from a stylist in Portland, to repair most of the damage and get the cut to where I can style it without the appearance of being chewed on by a giant rodent. I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Lezlie Green for 7 years and have always loved what she has done and how great my hair looked when I came out of the salon. Last time I went, she had me take home a sample of the Kevin Murphy Young Again Immortel Oil. I am over 50 and the ends of my hair are always dry- well, not anymore.... This is a great product and my hair is now always soft down to the tips. It looks more lustrous and definitely younger. Lezlie Green has been my preferred hair stylist for over 5 years. She taught me how to scrunch my hair to make it look even curliers, how to effectively use henna, and has totally helped me to grow my hair longer and thicker when I didn't think I could. Don't like the fact that they do not use Acrylic nails. Kinda of got fanessed to get them don't there thinking I was getting extinctions. But only had my nails painted for and paid40$!!!! Miranda is THE BEST! She did my hair, the hair for all my bridesmaids, and my flower girl's hair for my wedding at the Ashland Springs Hotel. We all loved our hair, looked amazing, and got compliments all night long. During the trial she was very attentive and receptive, and more than willing to put in the time and effort to tweak and fine tune my vaguely-stated look until I was happy with it. I didn't give her much to go on, but she somehow managed to pin down exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend doing a trial; it was great to be able to take our time with the it and play around until the right thing clicked. I came in the day before my wedding to get my hair washed and curled. Due to this my hair looked amazing for my rehearsal dinner and, shockingly, even the morning after sleeping on it and tossing and turning with my full host of wedding jitters. Miranda even gave me a free impromptu hand massage during our styling. The day of she was perfect. She came to the venue early, matched all the girls' styles to what they wanted, and even took on my flower girl, who was not originally going to get her hair done, at the last minute. Throughout the entire getting ready process she was constantly checking and re-evaluating the work she'd already done, and if she noticed something she didn't like or needed more work on a style she already finished she would attend to it right away. Up until the last minute she was watching my hair and pinning up stray strands; I felt very attended to and like my hair was perfect by the time I stepped out for the aisle. And after a night of rigorous dancing, we all still looked amazing, without so much as a strand out of place. Obviously I never plan on having another wedding, but I almost wish I did so I could have Miranda do my hair again. The next time I'm in Ashland for anything, I might have to treat myself to a styling with her. Even if I'm only going to be hiking or biking, I might as well look fabulous while doing it. read more

I always assumed that Waterstone was an upscale salon with great products and services. Boy was I wrong. I scheduled a Spa pedicure, a $50 service. I was looking forward to a relaxing hour of massage and foot cleanse. The spa pedicure is a joke. You sit in a tiny room that is super HOT and muggy. There isn't a massage chair, instead a tiny roller chair in the corner. A bucket is brought with water and you literally lean your feet on the technicians legs during the entire service, very weird. The woman who performed my pedicure was nice but did a very mediocre job. I left with scratchy heels, dirty cuticles and nail polish all over my toes. I was so disappointed and won't be back! I can get a full spa pedicure at a mom and pop shop for less than $50. read more
