First time I have been to this salon. They have everything for a spa day! Kadie did an exceptional job on my nails. I have gotten maybe a handful of manicures and pedicures in my life, and even though I try to take care of my nails, I know they were rough. What a great experience! She made me feel comfortable and talked me through every step of the processes. I would absolutely go back to Be Cherished for Kadie. I also got my hair cut. It was a long overdue trim. I thoroughly enjoyed the scalp massage and the shampoo. My hair was cut exactly how I wanted it cut. However, I was expecting a blow dry for my $60 and I didn't get it, not even offered. Since it was my first time there, I thought maybe I was mistaken about the service. After I left, sure enough it says "cut & styling" on the website. Unless I misunderstand the meaning of "styling," make sure you get everything you think you are paying for, or at least ask! Don't make my same mistake. read more

After months of walking around with 'lockdown locks' I decided to bite the bullet and go to a salon. First time visit To Be Cherished. They're doing a really good job under these not-easy Covid 19 circumstances. The day before the actual appointment they will you to confirm and ask Covid related questions whether you've been exposed to anybody who has the virus, did you have a fever recently etc. On the day of the appointment I had to wait outside until the stylist would invite me to come in. I was asked to wash my hands and got extra sanitized when I sat down. Obviously wearing masks, both stylist and customer. I was told the maximum amount of clients inside is 8. It's a fairly big place. There's-I believe- only 1 area used to wash hair. It's constantly sanitized. My stylist sanitized it after my hair was washed. The next stylist sanitized it again. I didn't have any doubts about thus place being meticulously sanitized and cleaned. My stylist was Troy. My hair was quite a bit shorter than I wanted, which -in the big scheme of life- isn't a disaster. It'll grow. I went from Lockdown Long to short which is an adjustment in itself. More important was the experience of going to a salon during a pandemic. I have no problem whatsoever to go back again. I've been here for two haircuts over 2 years. I wish I could leave a 5 star review. Granted, Kiarra my stylist was always nice and amicably took care of drastic tangle issues I had both times (first time, she spent good time brushing out my tangles, while second time, I chose to cut them off), both times the cuts I was left with were uneven, and the second I got today is probably the most dreadful haircut I've had in my life. I could live with the unevenness of the first cut, where it was mainly just bangs being uneven... but the more I look at this current haircut the more perplexed and bothered I am at how this turned out. I came prepared with a style I had in mind and with pictures. I asked for a pixie mullet, meaning longer length in the back, and asked for it to be layered and edgy looking, as in the photo. It does not have to be exact but at least what I described. After we cut out my tangles I had some length left - for some reason she cut out all the length in the back, and basically made this look like a kpop boys haircut, but worse. It's totally uneven in all the wrong places, definitely not a mullet, and just a very strange, rushed cut altogether. During the cut, I could tell she wasn't really focused - she just seemed to be nervous and getting carried away with cutting. It's hard to feel like she was truly in touch with what I, the client, wanted. Maybe I should've spoke up during the cut, but a mullet shouldn't be too hard to do if you're a professional stylist. It's strange because she even told me how much length she could save in the back, though the back of my head is now boy short. Really dissatisfied and hoping my hair will grow out fast enough so this can't be over as quick as possible. It is the weirdest, sloppiest shape ever, and I'll have to visit another salon to see if they can edit it a bit. Sigh - very disheartening :( read more

I could gel polish put on my nails a lot. Usually it lasts three weeks for me. But after getting my nails done 60s later I had problems with three of my nails. So I called up went back in and they redid 4 of my nails. And now 3 days later I noticed A huge hunk a polish missing on my thumb nail. to start off I love all the staff they were so thoughtful and attentive and were patient. I came in for a very long appt 5-7hr I was wanting a hair transformation and was willing to pay for it too. you think after 5-7hr of getting my hair done I'd look kind of different right?? wrong. at first when you get your hair done you notice a small change and you hate to be like this ain't what I wanted and pretend to just be happy and listen it'll fade to the color. well it's been a month and honestly my hair has gone back to the exact way it was before but with a haircut. when I first got it done no one in my family could even tell they thought I got a haircut. I spent 440$ including tip to look the same. I would maybe try a different place for color because I feel unfortunately that they just don't understand it. I was very clear copper and as my hair has faded I look like maybe some blonde highlights. I am very upset with spending that much money to get a haircut and to have sat for 5-7hr to look the same but somehow even darker hair! He did tell me to make another appt to get the color I wanted for another 200$ but I don't see how 400$ I didn't get it so why 200? I canceled that appt today because I'm so tired of spending money to look the same. He acknowledged that my hair was not the color I wanted by stating he hopes it's fade into what I was wanting. I moved to the area 2 years ago and after trying 4 salons in 1 1/2 years in Medford, I found Be Cherished. Troy is amazing with cutting my curly hair (one of the reasons I didn't return to a couple of prior salons), and color is spot-on. I get 3 shades and the most recent visit he added more blonde to brighten up for summer. For the quality of work and 3 colors highlights the price is definitely worth what you get. read more

Britta is AMAZING. Not only did she give me a beautiful, sleek bob, she gave me amazing color after a self-induced henna disaster. Britta talked through all of the possibilities with me and did a patch test since henna can react poorly to dye. She turned my orange henna hair and my light brown roots to dark brown with a semi-permanent dye and no bleaching at all. The whole thing took about two and a half hours, which is no problem at all with Britta--she's fun to talk to, and REALLY knows her hair stuff. Other salons in the area wouldn't take me because I had henna in my hair, but Britta had a conversation with me about it. What a great find in downtown Ashland! I just had a fabulous pedicure with Hayley. She's sweet, fun and meticulous. They don't do acrylic nails, thank goodness. Be Cherished sells Aveda products so it smells just wonderful inside this full-service salon. I have hard-to-manage curly hair, that only got worse as it turned gray! I can't tell you how happy I am with my first visit to this salon. I'd been given a horrible, horrible haircut that looked like someone had put a bowl over my head and sheared the edges with a hand blender - seriously, I was in tears - and was sitting in my closet with a hat over it, weeping and feeling like the frumpiest woman in the world, when my friend Susie came over and said, 'Get in the car'. My birthday is yet two weeks off, but Susie treated me with an early gift of a fix-it haircut. Carrie (Keri? Kari?) - who is apparently the in-house Fixer Of Bad Haircuts at BC - took me into her calming embrace, talking with me in soothing tones about what I was really looking for in a cut for nearly half an hour before even picking up a brush. I felt calmer and - though I hardly expected a miracle - felt confident I would at the very least walk out looking better than when I walked in. She started by bringing out essential aromatherapy oils, letting me smell several to decide which I found most pleasing, which she then used and refreshed several times during my 'treatment'. I got a scalp, neck and shoulder massage before being tipped gently back into a comfortably cushioned shampoo bowl where my hair was again pampered with wonderfully fragrant conditioning products. By the time she got round to picking up her scissors, I was relaxed and looking forward to seeing how she'd doctor my locks. She cut it wet, blew it dry, then cut it again dry - a process I'd never experienced before. The word 'precision' springs to mind, though the finished product doesn't look overly 'fussed over' at all. Start to finish I was in the chair well over an hour (Susie treated herself to a luxurious mani-pedi while she waited): The resulting cut was absolutely stunning. Seriously. Way beyond my expectations. It's fun, flirty, a little artsy, not at all old-lady-ish, and I've found in the 4 days since my cut that it's amazingly versatile: depending on whether I just scrunch product into it and fly out of the house wet or futz about with a blow dryer and curling iron, I can go from funky-casual to sophisticated and polished, and for the first time in memory I'm not a slave to the right-side-only part. I'm absolutely shocked at how much I love this cut. For nearly 55 years I've struggled with articulating what I want to hairdressers. This is the first time I've walked away loving my hair straight away, without having to go back a second time or just saying, 'Oh well, it'll grow back'. And the complements! Everyone from old friends to sales clerks are telling me how flattering it is to my face. It makes me want to run down to the stores for just a carton of milk or an anniversary card just to hear people tell me how good I look - LOL! I desperately needed a pedicure and, after Yelping, called Be Cherished. The receptionist was very friendly and was able to accommodate me for an Essential Pedicure just 30 minutes later. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and offered tea or water. The receptionist also had me fill out a new client form while I waited. Less than five minutes later, Hayley, the manicurist, came out and introduced herself. She led me back to the nail area which is small, but clean and comfortable. I had previously gotten a gel pedicure and she was very nice about taking the extra time to remove the old polish. The massage portion of the pedicure was particularly awesome. She did a great job, and you can't beat the scent of Aveda lotions! Hayley picked out the perfect "classic red" color for me- it turned out great. She was very detailed in all steps of the pedi. She has provided me with years of exceptional haircuts, in addition to one crazy day where I asked for just a little purple to be put in my hair. I knew she had succeeded perfectly in the coloring when I was at a meeting later in the week, and a colleague came over after the meeting trying to figure out if it was a reflection from my shirt, or color in my hair. I was looking forward to my hair appointment, my first one since having my baby. Unfortunately didn't go as planned. I wanted just to cover my grays with my real hair color (the color of my roots) and having a simple haircut. The cut was fine but the color was instead of light brown completely black! It was such an awful experience! I sobbing in the chair and not sure what to do. The hair stylist knew and told me to come back if "after a few washes I was still upset". She was nice just not professional or knowledgable about hair color or the salons color line. I decided to go home and think about it. Next day I receive a phone call from a person I think was the manager, I was pleased to receive the call thinking she was calling about my awful experience, but not she called because I was charged incorrectly and they wanted me to come back to pay the $40 dollars they didn't charge me. I was surprised to say the least and told her about my experience. She asked me to come back to get my hair fixed and I was hesitant to go but agreed only because another stylist was gonna do my hair color. Once there the new stylist taking care of me was shocked as well to see my hair and said "I'll do my best but they didn't schedule enough time for the work needed in your hair so I'll try my best and hurry". Well to my disbelieve she turned my hair orange because "sorry but they didn't schedule enough time" I was so shocked I couldn't believe what was happening. I should add, They (reception, manager, stylist) met me at the front desk and told me they will discount some small charge but they STILL charged me for the 40 dollars they forgot to charge in my first awful experience. This was my first salon visit in over a year, I chose them because of their organic hair line and was excited about being pampered and gifting myself with a great experience, non of that happened. My regular waxer retired and I needed a new place. Problem is, I'm totally paranoid about someone messing up my brows. Luckily, I had randomly walked into Be Cherished a few weeks prior looking for hair help - I had just cut my hair and wasn't sure how to style it or what to do (yes, I'm useless when it comes to this stuff). Even though I hadn't gotten my hair cut there, they were SO nice, took the time to help me with products, etc. Since they had been so approachable, I decided to give their waxing services and shot and I'm glad I did. Really well done, not over plucked at all, very clean and relaxing atmosphere. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that it's not cheap ($35 for lip and brow, before tip), but I know that's because it's a quality place. I have been going to Susan for my haircuts for over a decade. Susan is the owner and an incredible hair salon. I also see Brita (sp?) if Susan is unavailable. The salon is Aveda so you know your experience is going to be a quality one. The cuts always begin with an aromatic oil head massage which is to die for! The cut, costs $50.00 and there is a no tipping policy. Susan prefers you spend the money on yourself! I've only had my haircut there so I cannot speak to any other services but if they are anything like the haircuts, expect a top notch experience with quality products, professional and highly qualified staff at a price that is worth the shampoo alone let alone the designer cut and style! I really wanted to love this salon, and I did! At first. My first cut there was amazing and beautiful and carefully and precisely done. Loved it! Then I came in for my complimentary bang trim because my bangs were long to start and had grown out quickly. The trim was very rushed, and it felt like she forgot what she had done the first time. I offered to show a picture just to remind her but no response so I figured she had a plan. Upon leaving I felt skeptical but also trusted my hairdresser as my first cut was so amazing. A day or two went by and I just hated my bangs and couldn't understand why. My mom saw them and was so disappointed because of how beautiful they were after the first cut. She helped me realize how completely crooked and uneven my new bags were, they were choppy and absolutely terrible! She ended up trimming them for me just so they looked alright to wear out in public. I'm so sad now because I have to find a new salon because consistency is SO important and now I don't trust I'll get consistent cuts here anymore. I moved to Ashland almost two years ago from Calufornia and for that first year, I had tried to maintain the relationship with my colorist. Due to the distance and the lapse of time between my visits, I was determined to find a colorist/stylist in Ashland that could give me the blonde that I wanted. After an initial hair fiasco, where the stylist completely ignored my request for a cool blonde, I decided to try Britta at Be Cherished after a recommendation from a coworker. Not only did she listen to what I wanted, but she gave me a gorgeous blonde that covered up the mistake from the last hair dresser and gave me a fabulous cut to boot! Comparatively speaking to CA prices, this place gives you every bang for your buck and is affordable for the amount of coloring I get done.
