Not only is he a real expert he is also a very nice man. He immediately put me at ease and listened to my concerns while offering his extensive advice as to what he thought might work best. Had a wonderful "Mother of the Groom" hair experience at this salon with Troy. Would highly recommend him for reliability, pleasantness, skill, and understanding of what I needed. He specializes in "wedding hair" so he was able to do the "fancy hair" I needed in the allotted time. His prices were fair and I received many compliments on my "do". VERY disappointed with my hair by Luna that I paid nearly $100 for my brothers wedding and went flat in 10 minutes after telling her I could feel my hair wasn't dry all the way. Insanely poor customer service from Troy. Changed our times up the night before via text, called me ten minutes before my appointment asking what I wanted for my hair and he said "in this line of work sometimes that's unavoidable." He spelled our names wrong in the texts more than once. Just super unprofessional. Left a 3 minute long voicemail berating me about how I should and should not behave and how good of a job he did at trying to solve "my issues." Extremely inappropriate from a business owner. Called both Luna and Troy and asked for a call back they both took weeks to respond. Asked for a refund due to the circumstances and received a text back saying she "couldn't do that." Heard really great things but none of them seem to be true.... read more

I wanted to get a convenient haircut to avoid going to salons for a while with COVID-19, and this studio was exactly what I wanted, needed, and expected! Troy is very friendly and added the style that would make my convenience haircut look even better. I have thick, wavy hair and asked that he shorten it and thin it out and he did exactly that! Enjoyable conversation and I love my haircut. I went to Troy for a short haircut and it is literally the worst haircut I have ever had. Firstly, he did not do any of the things I asked for. After talking with me for at least ten minutes about what I wanted as soon as he started cutting his brain apparently left the building. Secondly, what he did do is an atrocious haircut. Uneven left to right with bits and bobs either too long or too short. A nice enough guy but he cannot cut short hair. read more

Very disappointed with the haircut I received from Troy. The layers on the left side clearly don't match the right--it's almost like he forgot to finish the haircut. In addition, he took 2-3 inches off, which we hadn't discussed AT ALL. I walked out wondering what the heck I said to make him think I ever wanted so much length taken off. I am SO disappointed and I hate my hair, which can't be cut for months because it's now so short. Ultimately, I feel that he didn't listen to what I wanted and must have been extremely distracted, so much so that he didn't even finish the job. When I contacted him through his webpage to request that he fix it, he never responded, which is just lame and shows a lack of ownership and professionalism. I won't be going back. read more

Such a wonderful experience! I can happily say I found my hair stylist in this new town. Troy's experiences and confident shined through, right out off the bat I was in ease. I was in for a root touch up and he suggested with some highlights. Normally it would scare me away because I have sticked with boring, straight hair my whole life. But my six sense did me right again, i knew it would be a good idea to try something different when the right person comes along. It turned out very subtle , elegant; adds dimension. The salon is right next to Ashland coop with its own parking lot, salon itself is small and cozy... very personable, we don't have to yell when communicate with each other. I am very excited to experiment different look and have Troy give me long layered hair cut once my hair grows out more. To me, constantly trying to find a new hair stylist and time again settled on less than desirable results were stressful, so I am very grateful to find my person.! read more

Having coarse, thick, unforgiving hair, it's not easy to find someone who has the skills and experience to handle my hair. Troy has a lot of experience working with different kinds of hair. He has the kind of skills that you'd only find in a big city. But it's not just a great hair cut that I'm looking for. When I go to his salon, it's always relaxing, no one who greets you with an annoying "do you have an appointment?", no feeling rushed, and I enjoy his conversation which is neither forced nor "small talk-ish."
