If you value your mental health do not walk through the doors. FIND ALTERNATE CAREGIVERS…read more Unfortunate that a place that is a NON-PROFIT this is all for profit and not their clients needs. They attempt to monopolize on your sickness and make them your EXCLUSIVE provider. (With horrific care, no appointments, poor leadership, broken elevators, and poor health care all around) Disaster from day one at initial intake process. Till last day walked out in total disparity. If you are competent and have any common sense this is NOT the place for you. It's for way under functioning CAPACITY individuals. You spend more time chasing their employees to do their job. IOP- DBT- Jenna is amazing, but the passive aggressive attitude from one of the clinicians isn't very helpful. But they do the best they can. Honestly you get in what you put out here. Case Management: 2nd biggest failure with this company. Requested case management at initial intake 7/18. 1st the request "glitched" and was never received.... Spend every day after iop trying to follow up. Finally got a meeting with LISA RAND who had all these great things to say and would get someone to help me. Gave me a case worker that was never there. But no one would tell me why. They (front desk) would say I'll send a message to her. I had an eviction case to prepare for and the case manager never showed up. Then when the office finally tracked her down she came down and said "well, let's go" like I did something wrong sitting there waiting for 45 minutes.... I was not comfortable meeting with this individual so requested a new case manager. Then I was the bad guy.... The excuse offered was that she was in a meeting in a dead zone then ended with celebrating Lisa Rands surprise birthday..... New case manager was nice and TRUTHFUL. Just not very helpful for my situation. HOUSING: LIES LIES LIES DO NOT BELIEVE THEM THAT THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU WITH HOUSING. They lie and will string you along. I was feed so many lies that I'm now living in my car. I'm glad that I have their housing manager BOBBI JO on recording lying about housing and back stepping from things previously said. I was told Because of my severe medical conditions that I could be bumped up THE WAITLIST so I wouldn't be homeless and living in my car. I was also told that LISA AND BOBBI JO were working with the Columbus house med res floor for when the eviction happened. After being told 4 different things from 4 different people I met with Kathleen , Lisa and BobbiJo whereas they looked at me like I had 10 heads and was purple.... Clearly there was a severe communication problem or something was wrong. There is an email stating the previous" working on solutions for client" and is now being denied it exists. Too bad others already said it does and IT will pull it. Many of the mental health agencies around the state send people to BH care for their housing because that is what they are told and unfortunately BH care does nothing. I have worked with them for over seven years with one of their clients. When I asked for their person to leave I gave them six months notice and yet they still Never found the person a place to live. They have broken system, and the people that run this area of BHC are very nasty. In the end I had to financially spend over $4000 for legal fees and cleaning of the totally trashed apartment. They have no regard for anyone except themselves would stay away from them

I spent approximately 19 months at Turnbridge from September 2021 through May 2023. My family paid…read morea substantial amount of money because we believed I would receive safe, professional, trauma-informed treatment. My lived experience was profoundly different. I personally witnessed staff replay CCTV footage of serious client-on-client violence for groups of clients while laughing and mocking the person being attacked. After I was assaulted with a heavy wooden chair at 90 Ford Street, I remember staff later replaying the footage and mocking me for flinching. I also disclosed a sexual-boundary incident involving another client to people in the Turnbridge environment while a staff member was present. I do not recall receiving a formal interview, separation plan, or meaningful protection afterward, and the harassment continued. During an asthma attack, I asked a staff member for my prescribed inhaler and was initially refused because he claimed I was "faking it" and "getting high" from albuterol. My PlayStation 4 also disappeared from a Turnbridge residence, and I do not remember any meaningful investigation, report, recovery effort, or reimbursement process. My intake experience also raised serious concerns. During the drive to Turnbridge, I openly told friends that I believed I was entering a 28-day program. I remember signing contracts at 189 Orange Street before being told by the staff member who transported me that Turnbridge was actually a year-long program. These were not isolated personality conflicts. They raised recurring questions about supervision, medical access, sexual-safety complaints, informed consent, missing property, incident documentation, staff conduct, and how criticism was handled. I have since compiled a detailed evidence memo that distinguishes firsthand experiences from secondhand allegations and identifies records that should exist. Connecticut DPH has opened an investigation into care and services provided by Turnbridge. That investigation is ongoing and is not a final finding. Parents should ask for written answers about incident reports, CCTV access, medical protocols, client grievances, sexual-safety procedures, staff vetting, property-loss policies, expected program length, and what happens when a client says they feel unsafe or wants to leave. Recovery is necessary. Humiliation, indifference, and preventable risk are not treatment.

The lack of professionalism and expertise was stunning. I worried that we had been just given a…read moresales pitch to get our child in the door, and in retrospect, that's clear that's all they could offer us. They showed no capacity to understand reactive attachment disorder and instead did the thing that we have seen all too often from inexperienced therapists: a lot of pussyfooting around and making endless excuses for the child's bad behaviors, while assuming the parents were really to blame and treating us as adversaries instead of partners. They refused to believe anything they didn't directly observe themselves even though the child was not at home, in a classroom, unsupervised, or asked much of anything, so if course they weren't going to see how he would show up in other contexts, but even when we shared evidence of a series of poor choices he made right under their noses, they still pretended as though it were nothing. They were entirely incapable of holding him accountable or providing proper supervision to keep him from feeding his technology addiction, and they minimized everything he did, from breaking their rules to harassing teenage girls. They showed their ignorance when they allowed their own hero complexes to get the better of them, genuinely believing that because he seemed charming and cooperative, it was because they were doing such a good job (or that he had no issues in the first place), when, in fact, that's a basic, textbook symptom of RAD -- and, incidentally, of sociopaths, who would take them right in and practice deceiving them as though they were the greenest therapists in suburbia. When they started actively interfering in family connectedness, we pushed back hard, and rightfully so: it's the worst thing to do to a child with RAD and is more likely to exacerbate the problem than anything else. They clearly had no real concern for him, despite their feigned care, since they took him off most of his meds, promising a new neuropsychology evaluation, but they couldn't be bothered to get that done even though he'd been there a month. They were disorganized from the start, and we had to keep pushing for them to even follow through on their most basic promises. When we came for a visit, they decided, just hours beforehand, to kick him out and send him home instead, a day before the scheduled neuropsych eval, probably because they didn't want to have to acknowledge his case as a total and utter failure on their parts. They provided no transition planning at all. They provided our kid nothing more than an expensive vacation. He learned nothing beneficial at all. Don't waste your effort or hope or your child's time at this place.
