I ordered the small burger and fries, while my husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich and macaroni. The bacon jam on the burger was delicious and the chicken on the sandwich was perfectly cooked. From start to finish, I had a very good time at Watermill Kitchen + Bar. The server was excellent - checking up the right amount of time - and communicating well with the status of our food and drinks. The flat bread appetizer was excellent with unique flavors of grilled peach and goat cheese. I absolutely loved the brisket sliders and will be back to have those again. I will rave about them to anyone. My cocktail was delicious with the right balance of sweet, but not too sweet. I had to limit myself to just one, but could have had another. The dessert of bread pudding was very good and I'd be happy to try something else on their list next time. I found the decor very upscale and pleasant and while I did not sit outside, their outdoor dining area looked spacious and nice. I think this is an impressive restaurant in the Hyatt and should definitely be a consideration for evening drinks and apps. read more

We had a pleasant dining experience at Watermill Kitchen & Bar last night. The place was very clean, well-lit, and featured a partially open kitchen, which added a nice touch. The service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the roasted chicken with fries and the short ribs with sautéed cabbage, apples, and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were tender, which we appreciated, though a bit under-seasoned for our taste. While we enjoyed the meal, we'd love to see more flavors and enhancements on the menu to really make the dishes pop. The appetizer selection felt a bit lackluster--if they could elevate that aspect and overall flavors, we could see this place packed every night. And for the life of me, I still can't figure out why cheese curds are such a staple here in Iowa! Thank you for a lovely evening, and please keep us posted on any new menu items. The Thanksgiving day buffet was tremendous. We came right when it opened, which I highly recommend. If you can handle eating at noon, you get the first dibs on the buffet and before the line gets crazy, which it was by the time we finished an hour later. I forget the prices per person, but they were super reasonable. I wanna say around $30 per person. It was a lovely meal with great service and at the end of the day no one had to cook and clean. In addition to turkey, they had ham, they had mashed potatoes, they had all the good stuff like stuffing and everything you would normally expect, including a multitude of desserts from pecan pie to pumpkin and even cheesecake. A stressless yet delicious Thanksgiving. The only con is no leftovers!! read more

Well several of us went there as lunch bunch.We brought a small birthday cake in.Notging said about it..Waitress saw in table didnt say anything. Most of food 5 to 7..on scale 1 to 10.i liked my prime rib sandwich ate half toor rest home ate yester..food poisoning today. 2 other didnt like it all all. Tip included ..no problem there were 8 of us. Waitress wonderfull. What got them the one. The waitress didnt tell us of cake charge...she didnt cut swrvr bring forks or plates. Charges us a 8 dollar each caking cost. My lunch tip and cake included 48.00 And now sick.all night and morning. As a group we will not go back... I. I absolutely love the Watermill Kitchen + Bar! It's truly a hidden gem, tucked inside the Hyatt Regency Coralville. The restaurant has been fully remodeled and it's nothing short of stunning. Beyond its beautiful design, the food is amazing! I'm a big fan of their $12 Pick 2 lunch special--my favorite is the Turkey Reuben paired with the Sweet Potato + Kale Salad. I could honestly eat it every day! Plus, they're incredibly accommodating for my gluten-free diet, which can be hard to find. The menu clearly marks gluten-free options, and they're always happy to swap in gluten-free bread or buns for sandwiches. The Watermill is also a great spot for business lunches. They have a gorgeous private dining room that seats about 14, making it ideal for meetings. A few other favorites of mine: - Chicken Bacon Flatbread (GF with sweet potato crust) - Watermill Smash Burger (with a GF bun - the bacon jam is amazing!) - Crème Brûlée (GF) If you're in the area, definitely check it out! read more

This place was incredible! It's inside the Hyatt Regency hotel so it's kinda hard to find if you don't know that it's right next to the hotel. The vibes are beautiful! The way it's decorated is so new and classy. It's a fine dining experience for sure but they also have affordable options less than $20 on the menu (e.g. burgers). I loved the cocktails and felt they were cheap for how great they were, with several options at $12! I know everyone thinks of the Webster for fine dining (which I think is sooo overpriced/overrated) but I'd say give this place a try instead! read more

Pleasant surprise! I don't expect very much from hotel restaurants but this most definitely exceeded expectations. Had their weekend Prime Rib special, and it was pretty tasty -- as were their fries! Ordered their award-winning mocktail (name of which I can't remember, unfortunately) and it was very refreshing! Pretty disappointed with our breakfast experience here. Our group had a total of 4 "poached" eggs and every single one of them was so over cooked they were hard boiled. We were going to send them back but the waitress took a while to check in on us and we were on a time crunch and it had already been almost an hour experience. The rest of the meals were fine, nothing objectively wrong but just not that good. Would probably not come back here or recommend it to others. read more
