I don't know a lot about cars and can sometimes feel intimidated or that I'm being taken advantage of when I bring my car somewhere for service, but I don't feel that way at all with Lou's! Their service is quick and top notch! They send a very detailed vehicle report with photos of your car in real time. The report lets you know if there is anything that requires immediate attention and offers suggestions based on manufacturing recommendations. However, I have never felt pressured to add additional services! Overall I would highly recommend Lou's Car Care if you are looking for a reliable place to bring your car!

We were on vacation in the Finger Lakes from North Carolina when our minivan's air conditioning…read morestopped working. With just two days left before we had to leave, we were facing a 12-hour drive home with two young children and no air conditioning in August! Horst's Auto Repair was just a few miles away; we were able to have them look at the car first thing in the morning. They diagnosed the issue, got the part and replaced it by the end of the day. The price was very fair (I called my local mechanic and they would have charged us over $400 more!), and the couple that run the shop were professional and kind. The shop itself was very tidy and seemed well-run. We were able to make our long return trip in chilly comfort! I highly recommend Horst's to anyone looking for car repair in the Seneca Lake area.

I cannot say enough good things about Horst's. Melvin and Arlene are the kindest, most wonderful…read moreolder couple you can imagine. My car began overheating while I was visiting some wineries on Cayuga Lake the Saturday of Easter weekend. Thankfully, Horst's was open on Saturday until 5:30. I hobbled my car to the garage, but I couldn't get there until 5:00. They got it in and took at look at it, and diagnosed a blown radiator right away. I completely expected that they wouldn't be able to work on it until Monday, so I started making plans to spend the weekend away from home. Instead, Arlene called the local auto parts store, and found out that they had the part in stock. Unfortunately, the store had sent all of their delivery people home for the weekend, so Arlene drove into town herself to pick up the new radiator. At the same time, Melvin took out the old radiator, so when Arlene got back, they immediately set to putting in the new one. At this point, it was already past 6:00. Working side by side, they quickly got the new radiator in, along with the fans. Everything was back in place by 6:45, but Melvin insisted we take the car for a test drive to make sure they had solved the overheating problem. The two of us drove through some of the farmland around the shop, and everything seemed back in working order. When we got back, he even insisted on double checking to make sure nothing was leaking. They stayed at the shop until 7:00 to get me back on the road so I could be with my family for Easter, and then thanked me for bringing my car to them. On top of all that, their price for all this was more than fair. I cannot express in words how grateful I am for Melvin and Arlene Horst. Not only were they great at fixing my car, and willing to stay late on a holiday weekend to help someone in need, they reminded me of how incredibly kind people can be. If you are ever in need of help on your car (or small engine), go to Horst's. You will get a lot more than just a fixed engine from spending some time with Melvin and Arlene.
