Chose Northside Collision to repair my truck after hitting a deer and making an insurance claim…read more Stated that check engine light came on after the collision, but technician put it on form as "pre-existing condition" After weeks passed, received call Truck was ready. Tech pointed out work done to fender. I signed off without a careful inspection. Immediately took truck to my long-time mechanic, who told me that the check engine light was on because the shutters of the active grille were missing due to the collision, advised I take it back to the shop that worked on it. When I took it back to Northside, an employee looked over my truck, and then proceeded to say with a condescending tone, that the shutters had nothing to do with the deer hit. Acted very unprofessional, like a toddler throwing a tantrum. I pointed out all the damage, including the deer hair. She had no response to this, grew quiet, then said she'd have the claim re-opened. I asked another employee who that unprofessional person was, and was told it was the owner! I heard her muttering later I made her late for a meeting. Another week goes by, nothing was done. Owner blaming Allstate, Allstate blaming Northside. Took truck to dealer who laughed at the shoddy work, and he sent photos to get my claim re-opened. I chose another shop to do the repairs. They had a good laugh at the deer hair as well. 4 months after I hit the deer, finally on the toad again. I'm not sure if the grill being "carefully removed and inspected was incompetence or outright fraud, but either way, is plenty of reason to avoid this place.
