During summer, this place is a top spot. The council keeps the beach clean and in order even through the chaos of hundreds of people going here daily when the summer peaks. The beach is beautiful and is nice for long walks. I generally go from the jetty to the Port Noarlunga rivermouth. Swimming is nice and the ocean always glistens beautifully in the sunlight like some kind of heavenly beach. Going on a walk through the sand dunes (on designated paths) is also a great experience and you can see a lot of different fauna. The top of Witton Bluff also gives you a great look out over the ocean and there is really nothing better than sitting in the sun enjoying some fish and chips from the fish and chip shop down the road. Can't wait for summer again but then again, the weather we are having at the moment ain't that bad. read more

Port Noarlunga is a great local beach which all the younger teens seem to love to congregate at. Most of the kids from the area will do aquatics at Port Noalunga at some stage in their school years anyway so they become familiar with it then, if not before. It's a great beach with a lot of great local shops nearby. It is always patrolled between the flags by surf lifesavers who do a fantastic job all year round. It is also more often patrolled by a helicopter for shark sightings nowadays, especially in peak summer periods. Another initiative to try make our beaches safer. My kids love the sand bar that forms making it easy for the kids to go so far out but actually still be able to stand up. read more

Port Noarlunga Beach definitely deserves its title as Australia's cleanest beach. I've found most beaches in this country very clean anyway but this one seems impeccable. Less busy than Glenelg or Henley beach near the city, going to Port Noarlunga is worth the drive if you prefer some privacy to mingling with the crowds. There are a few cafes and restaurants around, not a whole lot though, but with a small selection of tapas bars, pubs, seafood restaurants etc. I reckon everyone will find something they like. read more

I ain't kidding when I say that this is the BEST BEACH EVER! Okay so basically the there's two mini reefs that beginners can snorkel at. You can walk out to them and you're feet can still touch the bottom when you're near them. Then there's the big daddy reef which is huge! It is right near the jetty so you can swim straight up to it. There are so many fish and we you throw bread hundreds of fish swim up to say hello. The water is so clear so you can see the fish heaps good. I go snorkeling along the reef and I feel like i'm on the set of FInding Nemo. I have seen a huge starfish with twelve tenticles and a baby starfish. I have also seen red fish, blue fish, weird fish, fat fish and more. They're all so cute and just stare at you as you swim by. In the mini reef there's heaps of hermit crabs that are so cute. There's also these big shells that have sea creatures living in them. You can walk on top of the reef and search for sea creatures. I saw lots of crabs. There's only one main thing to be careful about and no it's not sharkys! Basically what happens with the reef is that when the tide is out there's no waves but when it comes in the waves really start to get wild. I was swimming for the reef on and off for three hours. Anyways I was getting abit tired and I wanted to swim back to the reef so I could stand up and catch my breath. Even though I was only three metres away the waves kept pushing me away and I was panicking. I was getting out of breath and freaking out, I honeslty thought I could drowned but thankgod I was able to swim past and latch on a rock. My advice after that is that if you're not a confident swimmer only go to the reef when the tide is out because honestly you could get in serious touble in the water. Considering how much action this beach sees every day, the authorities here do a great job at keeping the place spick and span. Noarlunga beach is a great place to go to chill in the sun with SPACE. The beach is particularly spacious. A long and deep shoreline provides plenty of public privacy if you're with loved ones, and you won't have to listen to some boozed up teens laughing about the alcohol they snuck onto the beach or their new ringtones. I used to come here a lot when I was in school for sea themed daytrips. Snorkelling out on the reef was my favourite when the swell was low enough for good visibility. The beach is well serviced by delis, cafes and restaurants behind it too for when the sun gets to be too much. read more

Oh man, this has been so much fun in the past! Noarlanga offers some of the best sandy, beachy, surfy options if you're ready to make the best of your summer days. Although perhaps note that this not just a summer venture. Lessons and classes perfomed at the Port Noarlunga beach include: canooing surfing boogie boarding wave skiing snorkling May I also recommend some hot chips with extra sauce to feed that post salty swim hunger. Port Noarlunga beach 32 kilometres from the Adelaide GPO, to the beach carpark, with additional roadside parking as well as another carpark further along the beach. A well serviced beach, with eateries close by and most importantly a fish and chip shop, to finish off the day with a salty snack of full meal. Port Noarlunga surf life saving club is located on the foreshore http://www.pnslsc.com.au/ providing a degree of safety during the busy period. For the more adventurous there is diving from the jetty and snorkelling the reef right at the end of that jetty. For younger swimmers you can access the shallow waters of the Onkaparinga river just the other side of the sand dunes. Walk to the mouth of the river and back around to access the many fine eateries or give kayaking a go on the river and out beyond the mouth past the reef to the open sea. A clean well maintained beach, for those living close by, turning a suburb into a holiday location. If you run short of anything you can always make quick 3km drive to Colonnades Shopping Mall. read more

My wife and I decided to head out somewhere different than our usual places and thought a coffee at Pt Noarlunga would be nice as I grew up close to the area and hadn't been there for a while. We arrived with our 5 month old and our dog with us with the idea of going for a walk and getting a coffee afterwards. We walked to the jetty - NO DOGS. We then walked around to see if the cafes on Saltfleet St and Gawler St were open only to find one closed and another with no outdoor seating. We then conceded defeat and headed back to the car and found a cafe at Christies Beach where we could have a coffee. Sorry but its back to Brighton for us, it is a far more dog friendly attitude there with far more choice for cafes. read more
