The beach is beautiful and is nice for long walks. I generally go from the jetty to the Port Noarlunga rivermouth. Swimming is nice and the ocean always glistens beautifully in the sunlight like some kind of heavenly beach. Going on a walk through the sand dunes (on designated paths) is also a great experience and you can see a lot of different fauna. The top of Witton Bluff also gives you a great look out over the ocean and there is really nothing better than sitting in the sun enjoying some fish and chips from the fish and chip shop down the road. Can't wait for summer again but then again, the weather we are having at the moment ain't that bad.

It's a great beach with a lot of great local shops nearby. It is always patrolled between the flags by surf lifesavers who do a fantastic job all year round. It is also more often patrolled by a helicopter for shark sightings nowadays, especially in peak summer periods. Another initiative to try make our beaches safer. My kids love the sand bar that forms making it easy for the kids to go so far out but actually still be able to stand up.

However, it is also a beach hotel, not quite beach side, but close enough to the beach that if you walk a short distance you will be there. I did quite like the place though, it was charming, and there were some nice tables out the front.
