He gave me the impression that, considering the circumstances, I would not be penalized for breaking the lease early. I trusted that he understood the situation and was being reasonable. To my shock, I recently discovered a charge from this property on my credit report. Not only is this incredibly frustrating, but it also feels deceptive, especially after the property manager's initial response. I would strongly caution anyone--especially families--from moving into this complex. The management does not take tenant safety seriously, and communication is misleading at best. What they did constitutes conversion, unlawful eviction, and unfair and deceptive trade practices. After being instructed by a superior at the police department to contact them, David -- the same person who pursued the charges with Officer Gross despite knowing I had a legal contract to be there -- now hangs up on me and has blocked me.
