I…read morewould have done it but I work 3-11's and she lives over a hour away, that's why we bought a home warranty. the plumber (Dennis) that was sent out to look at it was 4 hours late. when he finally got there he barely looked at the shower and gave her 3 quotes that were ridiculous. to change a shower handle and shower cartridge it was $546.81. the other two quotes were much higher. what a joke that was. I went and bought the parts, $38 for a cartridge and $17 for a handle. I understand there is a bit of a mark up on parts. $360 for labor? I would love to know what the labor rate is. I'm sure Its not $200 a hour. It took me 20 min start to finish to do the repair. We got the home warranty cause she's a first time home buyer and I told her to get it as a piece of mind so she didn't have to worry if something went wrong. We even looked at what was covered and the shower and components were listed as covered, then he gets there and gives her the run around and told her it wasn't. Roto Rooter should be ashamed to have people like that working for them trying to rip people off. making up you own prices is unacceptable, there should be a price list that they should have to follow for everyone, not picking and choosing who gets a deal and who doesn't.
