# Tasting Room Heartbreak: When Man's Best Friend Gets Banned…read more Just found out today was Pickle's last day at one of my favorite wine tasting rooms, and I'm absolutely devastated. As someone who visits weekly, this place has become my weekend sanctuary precisely because it was so dog-friendly. The charm of seeing Pickle's sweet face in the window was something I looked forward to every visit. I can't count how many times I've watched people walking by stop dead in their tracks, point at that adorable face peering out, and decide right then to come inside. Nathan's charismatic hosting is what initially kept me coming back weekend after weekend, but the dog-friendly atmosphere truly sealed the deal. In a world where finding quality places that genuinely welcome our four-legged family members is rare, this spot stood out. To the management: please reconsider this decision. Pickles wasn't just a cute mascot - he was part of what made your tasting room special. As a devoted wine club member, I'm seriously questioning whether I'll continue my visits without the joy of seeing that precious pup. Who else is heartbroken about this? Have you ever chosen a place specifically because it welcomed dogs? #SavePickle #DogFriendlyWineries #WeekendWineRuined

We should have come here a long time ago! There was a wine tasting going on when we arrived and we got to try five different types of wine for $ 10.00. The gentleman that was conducting the wine tasting was incredibly knowledgeable about all the wine that was presented and you could tell that he had a real love for what he was doing. The wines that were featured could be bought by the bottle if you wanted. There is a downstairs from the tasting room with a wine shop where there are other selections in addition to the wines that are being featured for the tasting. The tasting room is fun, relaxing... some might call it retro but it has a delightful charm to it which makes it very unique and there is a little dog that will greet you as well which is precious. The gentleman that was running the wine tasting said that each tasting usually features different wines so right then and there is a reason to go back. The wines that we tasted were of an excellent quality and from all over the world. Black Door Wine Company is definitely a place to try if you love wine!

(Check out their website for events dates and details.) It's a private small group, intimate multi-course dinner experience with only a handful of other guests. As you arrive, you're greeted with a glass of wine and a few appetizers. The stuffed grape leaves with fig and Gorgonzola cheese were spectacular! Really packed with flavor in a few bites. The event is hosted by the owner, where she guides the group to the vines and gives a history of the vineyard and such. As we move through the vineyard, we heard from our chef and where all our food was sourced, and how it was prepared. We are then guided to a large table with fresh bread and butter as the next several courses are served. The cedar planked salmon with strawberry balsamic chutney was the highlight of the meal. The salmon was tender and moist, and strawberry atop was the best flavor combination. Each pairing of wine throughout the evening was perfect, everything went well with each dish. The best was the specially served 2016 Semillon Ice Wine Wahluke Slope! Literally the best tasting wine I've ever had, light but packed with flavor. To wrap up our dinner experience we were served a rhubarb crisp and could purchase wine to take home. My husband and I took home two bottles: 2024 Pinot Gris from Yakima Valley which we were served. It was about a three hour dinner experience - worth it for a special occasion!

OBK Winery or completely spelled out is On Blended Knee Winery is a newer one that has opened up in town and it's so very, very good. The couple that owns it are so friendly and sweet... so easy to talk to and visit with which makes the experience all the more positive and pleasant. We went in and got a tasting of white wines and really enjoyed them all. Such good quality and what an amazing flavor profile! We bought a bottle by the time we were out the door and had another session of enjoyment with their wine. The wine tasting we had was their whites called First Dance, Photographer and Classic Encounter. All three were wonderful! I am sure the red wines are equally great but alas I can't drink red wine much anymore. The tasting room is great. It's relaxing, inviting and has a nice atmosphere to it. I am sure it gets busy sometimes but while we were here which was early that was not the case at all and it was so nice and chill.
