To avoid late fees, I made the mistake of putting the account on autopay and trusted that I was being billed accurately. When I finally went back and looked closely at the charges, I realized I was being charged an arm and a leg. My unit used to be occupied by a business that operated roughly 16-18 hours a day, yet somehow these estimated charges were allowed to continue despite that no longer reflecting the actual usage of the property. When I called to question these ridiculous charges, I was given the runaround and passed from person to person. Eventually, someone finally told me they would send someone out to probe the meter and get an ACTUAL reading. It only took them A WHOLE YEAR to do something that should have been done properly from the beginning. What bothers me most is that Burbank Water and Power was perfectly comfortable continuing to collect these inflated estimated payments month after month without correcting the situation. In my opinion, allowing that to continue for so long is completely unacceptable and feels downright dishonest. Customers should not have to audit an entire year of utility bills just to make sure they aren't being massively overcharged. Do better.

Is it A) The fact that on-site management refuses to speak to anyone about any issues in the building. You cannot set up meetings or calls with anyone, and Paola and Chelsea who are the current managers literally will not come out of their offices and essentially hide from the tenants because they are incompetent. B) The constant theft of packages, which is so rampant that management themselves admits that even they do not feel safe in the apartment and have their packages delivered to Amazon lockers and PO boxes because someone in the building keeps stealing everyone's packages. I have had hundreds of dollars worth of stuff stolen and when I begged management to check for certain packages that got delivered in a window where I was away for a family emergency they still blamed me and were both rude and non-unsympathetic, even after three years of being a tenant there (this specific incident was my final straw/the reason I gave up my lease). C) The state of the building - the apartment is literally falling apart - at one point my entire bedroom door broke off the handle when I opened it. The door also broke off of the building's exit door during a fire alarm, so pretty much if you live here and there's an actual fire you will probably perish. D) All of the above! People have said it before, and I'll echo their sentiments. I would not recommend this apartment to my worst enemy. Do not live here if you can avoid it. It's just not worth it.
