Our son's teacher resigned after the first week of school, but the school continued to tell us she was sick for two months. Our son came home with a letter informing us that his teacher resigned, we were informed that a substitute had been in the class along with a teacher aid. Our son was assaulted by another student stabbed in the eye with a pencil. The school failed to notify us of this incident. My husband was informed of this incident when he arrived to pick our son up from school, he was directed to the nurse's office without any explanation. The student assaulted six other children in the kindergarten class before being transferred to another class, where he continued assaulting other children. Our son came home and informed me another student took her scissors and placed them on his neck and threatened to cut his throat. I took my son to school the next day and requested a meeting with his teacher, whom didn't seem concerned nor did she have any type of plan of corrective action. My husband and I withdrew our son and enrolled him in a private school. I returned to the school to collect his supplies and belongings, the substitute teacher advised me that the teacher who resigned took all the children's school supplies when she left. I was only given one pack of pencils, and four boxes of crayons. We spent at least $60.00 on school supplies. I also noticed the kids were just coloring pictures when I was collecting my sons school supplies. Our son attended this school for two months and never came home with homework. When we would ask him how his day was, he always said he didn't do anything. We understand now why he wasn't learning anything. This is a huge disservice to our children and to the parents who trust Prince George's County Public Schools to educate our children.

When I drop my child off, I'm greeted by every staff member and they know my child by name including the principal. The staff engages me in his educational goals regularly and keeps me up to date on all changes to help meet these goals . Lastly, I love that even if my child shows up with a scratch at school, they call me. It might sound like a lot for some parents, but this reassures me that he's an environment that prioritizes safety and attentiveness to each individual child.

Chapel Forge is a school that provides early intervention services for children from infancy through age 4. Some children have IEPs (Individualized Education Program) that address mental, physical, and emotional challenges that would otherwise inhibit their success in school and at home. Among the staff are physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and other professionals and paraprofessionals who are all trained and ready to help children work with and hopefully overcome a vast spectrum challenges. I am a huge fan of their inclusive classrooms, of which my son is a part. This is where there are some special ed kids mixed in with mainstream kids. In my mind, this will be good preparation for mainstream kindergarten. My child's time here has been marked by a whirlwind of activity. His class has 4 staff members and 17 students, which is an incredible ratio of 4.25 students to each adult. A special education teacher is in the classroom to focus on IEP goals with children who have IEPs. The only hitch is that since a bus does pick up and drop off I don't get to directly ask his teachers daily, "How was today?" though I can email or call them to check on that. The staff is amazing. AMAZING! Everyone from the principal to the maintenance workers greet the students by their names. They engage the children. They know what the kids are working on, and engage them in those ways. Our time with Chapel Forge has been brief thus far, but I'm absolutely impressed. We're getting better help through this public school than we were able to get through an expensive private preschool last year, whose staff was NOT trained to handle kids that don't fit the mainstream mold. Nothing against them, but it highlights the quality of the services at Chapel Forge especially as a public school. It is a little bit of a bear to get into with the application process, testing, and formation of an IEP, but you just have to know that it's a months-long process and keep at it. I'm so glad we did.

Not to mention, the staff, the headmaster and his family, are all so incredibly kind and an excellent reflection of core Christian values that I want my son to be influenced by. Ms. Weathers pours her heart into these children and my son adores her! She is incredibly sweet and my son always comes home talking about nothing but positive experiences with this teacher. I recommend this school to all my fellow Christians who want a solid Christian education for their children. They are doing it right here

Everyday when my husband picked up my son, he was notified of some behavior that my son did that was wrong. Wrongs committed included: being reminded to tuck in his shirt, having a messy locker, messy backpack, asking to many questions, writing in an assignment that he thought women could be pastors (he was alone in that thought), and using the word stupid. During his time there a student threw a ball in his groin area, that same student threw rocks at him and almost hit him in the head, and was told by a student he would go to hell because of his, religion, A member of staff told us he thought a student was autistic, not our son. and our son heard a members of staff use racist and homophobic language. My husband and I had a meeting with member of staff. We were criticized for buying my extra copies of his textbooks to leave at home. He questioned why my son wrote math problems in the front of his textbook. When I explained I paid for the book, and that my son could write in the book. We were told our son was rude and disrespectful because we are rude and disrespectful. Not the first time a member of my family was called rude and disrespectful. My husband was yelled at by a staff member when he asked "if our son could do anything right." After I talked about the math book, the member of staff tried to keep it. I politely retrieved the book and explained, we would keep the book as we paid for it. We were also chastised for hiring a tutor for my son and told we were to involved in his education. We were told to move out of the way so the school could do what they needed to do. When we asked about the qualifications of one of our son's teachers, we were told that was of no importance and none of our business. The next day after that meeting, thirty minutes prior to my husband leaving to drive our son to school, we were notified by email the school was not a good fit for my family. And that my son did not need to attend school that day. I am not upset that my son is no longer a student but I think thirty minutes notice is not appropriate or professional. Had my husband not seen the email he would have driven our son to school as usual. The school at no point tried to work with us. He was constantly criticized and bullied by both students and staff. For a five (5) figure tuition we found this unacceptable. My husband wrote a review of the school. We were contacted by a staff member and told that if our reviews were not removed from Yelp, our places of employment would be contacted about the reviews. I am not sure what the person hoped to accomplish with that statement. I do not believe that type of statement is/was a very Christian response.

She went day one and was a little reluctant to leave me husband and I, but by the end of the day when it was time to go home she refused to leave and have been wanting to stay daily after school. The summer camp is very proficient and well planned out. The have been going on a lot of trips that are included in tuition. The trips are not limited to just having fun but also things like museum's for history knowledge to our young people. I tilt my hat off to all the staff at Clinton Christian School to accepting my daughter to the family and making her feel at home away from home. I am excited and looking forward to great successful upcoming school year.

I never felt like it was a daycare. She was always learning something new each day! I enrolled her in summer camp, which she really enjoyed, especially since she is an only child. My daughter took music lessons for the violin. I was amazed at her teacher's instructions and guidance. She not only taught my daughter how to play the violin, but to also read and write music; very impressive! We had bus service for morning pickup. Always on time, friendly driver who always provided a warm greeting. We had aftercare, so I picked her up. Unfortunately, during pickup my daughter would almost be in tears. I generally had to wait until the last kid left before she would want to go home. I didn't want to force her to leave her friends and go home to no child to play with. I always received assurance from the teachers that everything would be fine. They were. This is a top-notched school who cares about their students and their learning process. Although my daughter is much older, I had to circle back and give this review. Every dime I spent on my daughter's education, care and spiritual guidance given at Clinton Christian was well worth it. Anytime your child clings to her teacher at the end of the school year because she's going to miss her says a lot.
