I said I was quoted $30. He said by who? I said by the woman who measured the outfit. He refused to honor the quoted price. $40 for a simple pant hem is ridiculous.

She is, however, computer illiterate and is not able to deliver appraisal documents that meet a client's specifications, no matter how many times these are explained orally or in writing. This client had repeated and increasingly annoying interactions with her and never received the documentation that was needed. She didn't seem to understand the difference between a word-processed file and a pdf (or between a pdf saved from a text file, which would be searchable, and one scanned from a print out). I had to explain to her how to cut and paste a thumbnail photo into a document (she was ultimately not able to comprehend this) and also how to share a Dropbox folder ("right click..." etc.). She charges a high hourly fee and still bills for the time she spent digressing about the piano she once inherited. I would try to find a different appraiser if I ever have to do something like this again.

Thankfully my boss believed me and I am still employed. Linda lied so easily not caring at all if I would be fired. Unethical and without shame. Linda emailed me instead of my boss so I read the email and I was so shocked at how easily she lied. I let time pass before I decided to warn others on here. Don't bother with phone calls, email this woman or she will use any undocumented conversation however she chooses.

There was a lot of knick knacks and figurines that we had no idea about. I went on line and found Sheridan Appraisers and it's the best thing that happened. Robert was totally professional. He and his associate met us to assess the apartment at no cost to us!! There really wasn't anything of value and they were honest with us. They actually found one piece of art that was of value. They didn't charge us, looked up the value for us, and texted me. They didn't even have to do that. Very nice company to work with.

An individual greeted us at the door, spoke to us through a slot in the door, took our laptop while we were standing outside in the cold. We were unable to enter the business like any other business. The place was situated like a fortress. I had delt with this business previously, and what we experienced this time was surprising. My first visit, I was able to enter the business, there was a counter where I was able to place my laptop, and spoke with the technician face to face. This time it was totally different and disgusting, to say the least. He might be an excellent technician, with cost very reasonable, but the business appearance is unacceptable. This is a small community business I would love to support, but the customer service is very poor. Because of this, I would not recommend this business to anyone because of this. He called me at 8:00pm that evening to let me know what was going on and to give me a price estimate ($150). He let me know I could pick it up any time after noon the following day. I stopped by at 1pm, and had my laptop back in perfect working order at exactly the price he gave me. In fact, my computer works better/faster than it did before I took it in, and he cleaned the keyboard and screen as well. I am so relieved and happy, and extremely thankful for Jean's swift and hard work. FYI- it's cash only, there's an ATM down the street with (IIRC) a $1.75 fee.
