I came in here looking to buy an engagement ring for my now fiance. Like many young men, I had no idea what I was doing, but was quickly attended to by Donny Basch. He walked me through some of their display rings and was happy to answer any question (big or small) that I had. After a few moments browsing the selection, I inquired about getting a ring designed, as I had a few odd requests for the diamond and ring style. He then told me that they are able to make custom rings, designed to my fiance's tastes. After I had let him know a brief summary of what I was looking for, he told me that he would get back to me with some examples and we could refine the ring to be exactly what I wanted. Over the next several weeks, we spoke back and forth in order to finalize what I wanted. I did a final check-in with him in order to ensure that I'd receive the exact ring that I was picturing (a slightly obscure styled ring with a coffin cut, black diamond). Donny let me know a time that would be suitable to come in and get the ring, and when I arrived, it was ready and exactly what I had wanted. As for the payment, he stuck to the budget I had given him, so there was no surprises when it came to price. He even threw in a bottle of champagne for celebration. I had planned to get a black ring box, but Don Basch only had white and brown ring boxes, so he looked up a nearby store and gave me the SKU of a black ring box (something that he didn't need to do, but was much appreciated). This business has amazing customer service. I never felt pressured into something I couldn't pay for, or rushed through any process. The staff offered me something to drink during every visit. I honestly cannot say any bad things about the entire experience I had at Don Basch Jewelers. They tried to change the battery, but the watch still wouldn't work... they told me that the watch was "totaled" and beyond repair. They were the only people to have ever opened the back of this watch. I took it up to Chester's in Parma, and he immediately asked if someone else had worked on the watch before. He showed me that "whoever" tried to change the battery had ripped out a few components, actually showing me what the missing pieces were... Don Basch broke my watch, then claimed it was unfixable. Chester fixed my watch same-day, it's working again! Not giving 1 star because the storefront is nice and clean, people are friendly, and they did a good job cleaning my wife's wedding ring.

For years they replaced my battery and pins in the band, always telling me that its not the pins, but the hole had widen and it will keep falling out. My wife new how much I like my watch and for christmas bought me an expensive watch. I liked it but liked my old watch more. I called the jewelry shop and they informed me about Basch's repair business. It turned out the reason my watch was not working correctly, is the hour hand was bent when the other store put in the last battery (young know it all man). Basch's watch repair expert realized there was a broken pin stuck in the pin hole, and unbent the hour hand. Watch looks and works like the day I bought it ten years ago. He insists that all of his customers pay $50 before he even fixes the watch. His store is full to the brim with watches that have been fixed but never picked up. He blames it on customers I blame it on his poor communication and customer service. After waiting 2 and half months for him to fix a cracked crystal. He left a voicemail saying it was ready to pickup. It took me 6 calls, 3 voicemails, and two visits to his store before I could get a hold of him. When I finally was at the store to pickup my watch he went in a tirade because I didn't have the small slip of paper with me with the job number on it. The problem was simple and was solved when I suggested that he look up my name or phone number instead of the job number in his records. To cap all of this off, his rudeness throughout all of this process was constant. As a customer, I got the impression that he didn't care at all and that I was an inconvenience when I had been nothing but responsible and polite. I encourage anyone to go somewhere else.
