Weekend plans: Thai temple food market! First things first, come prepared. Parking is limited on-site, but there's plenty of street parking. And don't forget cash! You'll need it to buy colorful coins, which you then use to exchange for food from the vendors. The market itself is lively, family-friendly, and perfect for grazing your way through a ton of Thai dishes. I thought I had found my go-to at the BBQ stand. The skewers looked and smelled incredible. Instead of coming fresh off the grill, they were pulled from a precooked pile and reheated in a microwave. Our pork belly skewers ended up partially raw. With the long line, we didn't bother going back and tossed the skewers. Flavor-wise, the seasoning and glaze tasted really good! Redemption came in the form of Patong-Ko! Freshly fried dough nuggets that are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and sinfully good dunked in condensed milk. Sweet, indulgent, and absolutely worth the calories. And if you go, do NOT skip the Crispy Pork Station. The Pad Kra Pao Crispy Pork (#9) is yummy! Definitely one of the best bites of the day. There's also a Thai tea stand to keep you cool while you wander and snack your way through everything. The Thai temple is lovely for exploration and prayers. Come with an open mind, a little patience, and a big appetite. You'll definitely find some gems.

Occasionally my family and I will visit the temple to pray and eat afterward. They only have food stalls on the weekend. Parking lot is limited and it is busy on the weekend. Security guard is present to help with traffic in the parking lot. Be sure to exchange cash for colorful coins. You pay for food with the coins, not your own money. If you have left over coins just go back to the booth and exchange back for cash. I normally stop by for the drink stall, you can't miss it. There's only 1 drink stall. I also pick up some desserts. I normally get fried bananas, friend potato balls, and mango with sticky rice. In terms of food I normally get Moo Ping sticks with sticky rice. I've tried food at these stalls and I find them just alright. I normally head to Thai Town for the flavors I like. During summer or on a hot day it is unbearable for me, even with seatings with shade. Be sure to stop by on the weekend if you want food!

Came here over the weekend. Park on the streets in the residential zone. In order to purchase food you have to convert your cash into tokens that they give you. The food is delicious and incredibly affordable! Most of the meals go for $8, which in this economy is unheard of. They do get very busy, so be prepared to wait a bit. The vendors are really kind. Definitely recommend! How lucky are we to be able to live in a place where you can experience and learn about different cultures?!

There's limited parking at this Thai market, so I recommend arriving early. I loved how efficient everything was, you go straight to a booth to exchange cash for coins, which you then use to purchase your food. I headed straight to the Thai tea booth since I'd been craving it all day. It was so creamy and delicious! The Thai tea was $3, and the Thai iced coffee was also $3. It was sprinkling a bit today, but no worries there's a covered patio with tables where you can sit and enjoy your food. We also ordered the mango sticky rice for $8. The rice had the perfect balance of sweet and salty, and the mangoes were perfectly ripe. I got the chicken khao soi, which was perfect for the chilly weather. I expected the soup base to be a bit thicker, but it was still very flavorful and comforting. We also ordered some skewers. Some were $1 each, and the kidney and heart skewers were 3 for $5. My personal favorite was the potato balls! I recommend eating them right away because they get hard once they cool down. Overall, this market is definitely worth experiencing, and I would absolutely come back again.

Please ignore the atrocious picture because this was truly an incredible food spot. Several vendors selling a variety of Thai specialties and feels like a street food scene. You need cash that you convert to these colorful tokens to purchase the food. It was one of those times you get sad that you only have one stomach because there were so many dishes I'll have to try another time

Celebrating Thai New Years at the Buddhist temple with delicious street food. Awesome to see a mental health booth (a previous employment) offering resources to the community.

If you want try authentic Thai food and culture, you must check this place out when you visit LA. I have been coming here for years, every time I visit LA during the weekend I will try my best to go. It's a whole vibe and experience. You need cash to exchange to coin and buy food at different vendors. Each vendor has their own specialty from savory to sweet. The price is so affordable yet the food taste so authentic and amazing. I spent around $65 on my last visit and was able to try at least 6-7 different items like: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Crying Tiger Steak, Pork Jowl, Coconut Icecream and a few type of Thai's cakes. The wait time is vary depending on how popular each stall is but on average is from 5 to 20 minutes. All the vendors and staffs here were extremely friendly, always smiling and so kind. Since this is a temple you can also check out their architecture and Buddah statues if you interested!

This is a great spot - a beautiful active temple and Thai food vendors on weekends, somewhat transports you to Thailand for a little bit. The food prices are reasonable and I really enjoyed my papaya salad and the skewers! Definitely recommend checking out if you haven't already!

Wat Thai is a beautiful temple. I walked up the stairs, took off my shoes, and walked inside. There are two entrances. One in the front and one to the side. Because they have both doors open, it was comfortable inside with a breeze blowing through. The monks in their orange clothing were seated to the right, giving blessings. At the far back is where a beautiful Buddha statue sits for prayers. After exiting the temple, I walked the grounds a little where a couple other Buddha statues are housed. To the side of a tree is the Buddha statue graveyard where they keep broken statues. Afterwards, I grabbed lunch in the parking lot where they have picnic benches and Thai food vendors every weekend. If you've read the other reviews, you know you purchase food with tokens. You can't miss the token booth located between the two line of vendors. I purchased the $8 Pad Thai from one vendor and an iced coffee from another. From what I could tell, it looked like there was just one drink vendor. All the prices are advertised, so I knew how much in tokens I needed to purchase beforehand. The food took a little while. I ate it at one of the picnic benches. They have it set up where water mists around the tables. It's an experience. They have a limited parking lot. I was able to find free street parking nearby.

I want to start off by saying I'm not giving Wat Thai a bad review--overall, this place is incredible! But I felt compelled to update my review after my visit today. We got pad thai from Pad Thai Boran; Oh boy, it was certainly memorable. The Pad Thai was... off. The noodles were soggy, and the color was a bit lackluster. The portion size felt smaller than usual, and everything about it just seemed wrong. The flavor just didn't hit the spot and honestly, we were left very disappointed. Turns out they swap with another vendor every 2 weeks.

This place is such a hidden gem! At least it was a hidden gem to me given i don't usually drive over to north Hollywood. This is basically a Buddhist temple but they have a dedicated area for many food stalls. It's basically Thai street food with a very wide selection of food. I am usually not one to enjoy Thai food but this place has completely changed my opinion. The food here is so good and i enjoyed everything i got. They have many different types of meat, desserts, drinks, skewers, etc. They also operate with their own currency here that you obtain with cash. It's pretty cool. I look forward to coming back here!! Oh i highly recommend coming when they first open because it got pretty crowded just before we left. There is a dedicated parking lot but plenty of street parking too

    Royce L.

Awesome weekend food market in the parking lot of a thai church I believe. There's parking but it can get busy and the lot can get full. I went there around 10:45 am on a Saturday and was able to get a spot and table but it got busier as I left. You exchange cash for tokens and then pay for items with the tokens. You can also exchange them back as well. This reminds me of when I was in Thailand a long time ago. There all types of vendors for entrees, desserts, drinks and more! This place is amazing. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

There's free parking inside next to the stalls and in the back, as well as street parking. Ambiance was chill and plenty of shaded seats. Came around 2:30pm~ and wasn't busy at all. There was asian music playing! There is a temple that you can go in and check out, but please be mindful of dress code- cover up! Food: thai tea $3/ea pad thai $8 and crab fried rice $11 (same vendor) pad see ew mango sticky rice $8 coconut ice cream in a hot dog bun Thai tea was great, not too sweet. We immediately got our drinks! Pad thai was great and tasted like any other we've tried- nothing special but you do get less than what a restaurant would provide for $15~ Crab fried rice barely had crab, but had more egg. Wish it was seasoned more. Pad see ew was good too. Tasted more eggy than the other ones I've had. We did have to wait for our food for around 10-15 mins as it's made to order. Mango sticky rice was good with the sauce. I had had other mango sticky rice with the rice more coconut flavor. This one was bland so the sauce really did its job. Mango was yummy and sweet! This is the first coconut ice cream I've had in LA that tastes authentic and not artificial!! It was delicious! The bun however was stale and cold. One thing to note is it's cash only and make sure you return your leftover coins before they close at 5 because they will not give you back your money and you're left with these coins!

    Yes

Is the food court open 7 days a week or just the temple?

It is only Saturday and Sunday

Are we allowed to go into the temple? Is that a temple?

That is a temple. You are allowed to go inside. But please follow dress code rules and know the rules when visiting the temple. 🙏

I heard they are not open until November is this true?

    They are open

    Can you bring a dog?

    I have this question too

Are they open tomorrow on march 30th?

    Yes

Are they open today because it's raining?

    Yes

Is the market open if it rains?

    Yes

    Do you open 4th July?

No. They are open weekends only Saturday and Sunday 8-5pm.

Are lunch entrees available during weekdays, please provide time they start?

I believe they're open 8-5 only on sat and suns

What time ?they start selling the food and until What time ? Every day?

    How is the parking?

Busy, especially during lunch time. They have a small lot. However there is plenty of street parking in the surrounding area.

Some people said dogs allowed some said no, anyone knows?

They say no dogs, but I've seen people bring their dogs anyways, & they're not service dogs so I don't think this rule is enforced.

Any booths offer beer or wine?

No. There would be simply the thai tea or thai coffee that you might be familiar with. You could BYOB if you want...

    Do they allow dogs?

It's outdoor so as long as you're pet is on a leash, they can walk the grounds.

Is there any vegan Thai food when the vendors are there?

There might be, the vendors doesn't have a set schedule where they'll show up every weekend. The best thing is just to go one day and see what vendors are there so you can get their contact info for next time if you see what you like.

The Shambhala Meditation Center of Los Angeles is part of an international community of meditators founded in the 70s by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and now headed by his son, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Shambhala is dedicated to the practices of sitting meditation and "meditation in action", incorporating dharma arts and other contemplative disciplines with the view of creating enlightened society. Shambhala offers many opportunities for people new to meditation to sit with an instructor one-to-one or with a group of fellow newbies. If you're new to the practice and you'd like individual instruction, I suggest coming on Sunday morning anytime between 9:00 AM and noon. (The closer to 9:00 AM, the better.) You can receive brief instruction in sitting and walking meditation and then join the group for all or part of the group practice. Public group practice also happens on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and you can receive individual instruction at that time as well. If you'd prefer to meet other beginners and learn to meditate in a group setting, you can come to the monthly "Learn to Meditate" night, the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Other Thursday night programs focus on teachings by Pema Chodron, noted Shambhala Buddhist teacher, author and practitioner, or introductory dharma talks from senior students of Shambhala. If the initial instruction sparks interest and you want to go deeper, Shambhala is a feast of teachings. They offer a number of weekend and evening programs in meditation and contemplative arts such as flower arranging, archery, writing...there is something for everybody here. The Shambhala Training program is a particularly potent path of meditation study and practice, done over a series of weekends. It's not necessary (or even an advantage) to be a Buddhist in order to learn to meditate...Shambhala welcomes all.

I made some last minute add-ons to the initial order and Lotus home was incredibly accomodating. Jana and her team work tirelessly to ensure a most zen and pampering experience. Couples massage: Jen and Jade were beyond professional and relatable. They first sat us down and asked if we'd had massages before, if there were any spots they should avoid or focus on. We had an actual conversation prior to the treatment and their delivery was spot on. I so appreciate how Jen and Jade allowed us to enjoy our massage in silence. And every so often, when I had a comment, they chimed in and laughed with my honey and I! Then back to silent enjoyment. Through the entire massage, I felt they were very present, engaging, professional, and kind. Couples facial: Amanda and Tamara were so knowledgeable and skilled in their craft! Every question that my sweetheart and I had regarding skincare, Amanda and Tamara answered. Personally, it can be a jarring experience for me, having someone work so closely to my face. But Tamara's energy was inviting and safe and she was so gentle! After the facial, Amanda and Tamara checked in with how my sweetheart and I were feeling and gave us privacy to slowly get ready for our next experience. Pool/Hot tub: Is there truly a better way to end the day than to soak in a hot tub with palm trees and cabanas? I think not. Part of the deal was a beverage tray and floating food tray. First, Jana knew that my sweetheart and I don't drink alcohol, so Jana prepared non-alcoholic champagne! This was a special treat for us, as normally, we simply deny the alcohol and swallow the cost (that's already included in the deal). It was incredibly thoughtful of Jana to have something else prepared for us to enjoy. Along with the non-alcoholic champagne, she prepared clarifying mint tea, coffee, and sparkling mineral water. So refreshing as we floated in bliss. Then came the food tray. Oh. My. Droooooool. Tiramisu birthday cake, the biggest raspberry macaron, a quarter pineapple artfully displayed in the shell, crisp green grapes, literally the best turkey/bacon sandwich, and a delectable grilled chicken salad. Y'all, literally every single bite was top-tier. To top off the surprise, turns out Jana is the masterchef behind this amazing spread! Everything she does is done with intention and the client's experience in mind. I was simultaneously blown away and deep in serenity. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I found Heather and Renov8 Fitness when I googled OCR training gyms in my area after I ran my first…read moreSpartan Sprint and realized I was woefully lacking in upper body strength and in areas I didn't even have a name for. I had already signed up for multiple races this year, and knew I needed help. After my initial consultation, I decided to sign up for a custom plan. The first step was a body blueprint, where you go in and she takes a bunch of measurements and has you do a bunch of movements. Honestly? I was kind of skeptical about the usefulness of the blueprint. I thought it was mostly a marketing scheme or something. Boy, was I wrong! Heather takes what she observes during the blueprint about the unique way your body moves and the problem areas and uses that information to create your workouts. Some concrete examples: during my first workout in person with Heather, she told me to try to keep my knees tracking the same direction as my toes while doing a lunge. I found it damn near impossible. My knees were wobbling all over the place and I had never even noticed until I tried to fix it! However, it's now been about a month, and my knees are much more stable. And it's not because I've been doing a bazillion lunges. There are some exercises in my workouts that I've never seen before that she said are for stability and mobility. (It's not immediately obvious what the hell they're for. For the first couple weeks, there were definitely times when I thought, 'what the hell am I doing right now?') But they fix what is wrong! Also, there are ankle mobility exercises that I didn't initially see the point in, but I've noticed that when I trail run, my ankles no longer feel like they're going to give out at any moment. It's kind of fascinating to watch (and feel) the differences. The blueprint WORKS because Heather is an expert and knows how to analyze the data and how to work with it. Speaking of running: I freaking hated it. I didn't see the appeal and couldn't understand why people did it. I thought there were plenty of more fun ways to get a workout. However, because I'm trying to do these races, I knew I needed to practice running at some point. I tried to self-motivate for around 6 months (!) and didn't run once. Not a single time. Now, I'm running 3 times a week. And it's not because I'm super motivated or anything like that. It's because of the spreadsheet. There's this shared spreadsheet where Heather puts in what the plan is, day by day, for the week, and then in the next column, you put what you actually did. It's actually a powerful motivator! There will be mornings when all I want to do is go back to sleep, and then I'll think of that damn blank slot on the spreadsheet, and it gets me out of bed. I know there are people who are very good at self-motivating. Good for you. Must be nice lol. I am NOT one of those people. However, the system that Heather and Renov8 have with the spreadsheet is surprisingly effective! I still hate running about 80 percent of the time, but that other 20 percent? Makes up for all of it! I have a pretty unpredictable schedule, and honestly? If Heather can work with my schedule, she can work with anybody's. That's what I love about it. It's completely tailored to me and MY goals. And she's only ever a text message away! (I've literally texted asking for recommendations for a good sunscreen that won't sweat off.) I've had a personal trainer in the past, and it was NOTHING like this. This is personalized training the way it SHOULD be. The training that we all long for but never seem to find. Renov8 is exceeding my expectations. Hell, it's exceeding my hopes.
