Before coming he gave us a time. Said he was very busy. Put us off for several days after commiting to a time. Finally arrives and brings a couple of storage tubs in the house plus other tools and a bucket with fittings in it. Tells us after he has been under the house for a few minutes that he has to go over to Lock Supply and pick up parts he needs. They will be closed but the guy at Lock Supply will leave on the front window sill outside the store in Norman. I have no idea what he was doing under the house for a couple of hours. He went under the house about 5 or 6 times. Heard him talking on the phone at least once. Final says he needs to go get the parts at Lock Supply. I offered to drive him. He said no, that's OK. Few seconds later he said maybe you should drive me. I said sure I'd be glad to do that. It's now about 7:30 in the evening. I drive him to Lock Supply on 24th street in Norman. He gets the parts in a small bag off the window sill. Gets back in my truck. Going back home I stop at Loves for something I need. He jumps out and goes in He ordered a sandwich from Subway inside Loves. Comes back out 10 minutes later while I'm waiting in the truck. I start leaving he has the sandwich open and being eating. He has a ft long sandwich. It's 4 miles from Loves to my house. We arrive back home. He sits in my truck eating this sandwich which was loaded with onions and stinks up my truck. He stopped eating with a small piece of the sandwich left over. Gets out and goes back to work. When he finishes several hours later he sits in his truck for 30 minutes figuring my bill. Comes back in starts loading his truck up with his tubs of tools. Comes back in and presents an $800 bill to me that isn't itemized. I looked at the bill and couldn't believe he charged that much. It's 2 a.m. In the morning. I asked why so high. He said "Well the parts are very expensive (fittings) I called BS on that and told him I've shopped at Locks for years and bought all kinds of parts big and small and a bunch of fittings. I told him the aren't as expensive as he stated. He said well there is the gas line too. I said for 6 ft. It cannot be that expensive. I paid the man 800.00$ cash. He left. We noticed he left a bucket with his expensive parts in it. We called and he told my friend "if I wanted to talk to him on the phone. He'd come back and return part of the money I paid him." This was Tuesday. It's now Sunday. His bucket of so-called expensive parts is still on our porch. He has not picked them up yet and it's now Sunday. I can't tell you he did a good job but, can say he knows how to ride the clock. To run approximately 6 ft. Of gas line, hook fittings up to it. Leave the job with me burning my gasoline and his eating the sandwich in my truck. Ending his work at 2 in the morning. I'm really not sure what the heck he did for all those hours just to run a gas line 6 or 7 ft. If that far. The hot water tank closet literally backs up to where the stove sits in the kitchen. I am not a plumber but have done plumbing. I can tell you if I wasn't 73 years old I could have done what took this man all evening and into the morning to do. There is another issue I have with him but can't say for certain why he was sweating profusely and eyes looked a bit,,,,well. I will leave it at that. I do not recommend Jeff's plumbing at all. I just pray he did the job right and we don't get blown up. At one point during the hook up. We smelled the stuff they put in the natural gas very strong. I asked if it was OK. He told me yes.

Van Dyck Mechanical is an absolute godsend!…read more We had a clog in the sewer line on Monday night. I called our home warranty company on Tuesday morning and they referred a plumber to us, but he couldn't make it until Thursday. When he came out, he was unable to unclog the line. He told me not to worry and to call the city to come out and check the lines. They did and said their lines were clear. Again, he told me not to worry, he was going to do whatever he could to help us out, and he would call me back after talking to our home warranty company. Our home warranty company denied the next step, but he said he would work with us to take care of our problem. He had a machine that was more heavy duty, and he would call me at 4:00 Thursday afternoon to set up a time for Friday. No phone call. I called him 3 times on Friday and left messages. Still no phone call. I was told by my home warranty company that I had to go look for a plumber on my own. I looked up on Yelp, put out requests, and Van Dyck was the only company that actually called me and wanted to talk to me. The other companies just wanted me to schedule an appointment. So I called Van Dyck on Monday afternoon, and they came out today (Tuesday). They were professional, took the time to explain what they were doing, and they were able to unclog the line! I know this review is long, but I wanted to explain why Van Dyck has earned my 5 star rating and my recommendation for this company. I've never had to do this before, and I have had companies try to "pull the wool over my eyes" because they know I don't know what to do or what questions to ask. Van Dyck understood my frustration and I was put at ease. I will be forever grateful to this company! Van Dyck Mechanical LLC is a true example of "The Oklahoman Way"
