I just moved to Palmdale, CA. TWO WEEKS AGO, I called to arrange the start of my service, with pick-up beginning on 2/25/26. In that call, I alerted them that the house I am moving into is missing the recycle bin. Also, the yard waste bin is broken in two places and needs replacing. I was assured this would all be taken care of by the time I arrived on 2/18. I arrived on 2/18 to the new house and saw that they brought a new yard waste bin, but failed to take away the broken one. And failed to bring the recycle bin. So, on 2/19 I called again to tell them that I have the new yard waste bin, but the broken one is still here, and also I still don't have a recycle bin (and when unpacking a whole house, there is LOTS of recycling accumulating. They assured me it would be taken care of. On Mon 2/23, I called again to confirm WHEN it would be taken care of because my neighborhood puts trash out on Tues nights for Weds pick up. I was told on Mon 2/23 that it would be tended to (new recycle bin brought and busted yard waste bin removed) by 4pm on Tues 2/24. Well, I just did a live chat with a WM customer support how tells me they cannot do a delivery/removal the same day as the request, and since I am making the request today, it will be done sometime tomorrow. I point out that I made the request TWO WEEKS AGO and again nearly a week ago, and called yesterday to confirm it would be tended to today. She just says "sorry. I understand how frustrating that must be. You can put recycling out in paper bags or boxes that are not bigger than 3 feet by 3 feet. Well, we have high winds here in the evenings, so if I do that, my paper products will blow all over the neighborhood. And this would require reassembling broken down boxes. Not happening. So, now I guess I have to wait and see if they bother to bring the recycle bin tomorrow (or even take away the busted yard waste bin). So far, not a very good customer experience. I did insist on a 25% credit on my next bill to reflect the utter failure on their part to do the simple task of bringing a bin within a TWO WEEK timeline, and then not being able to do the pick up on trash day because they failed at their job to give me a container. The only reason we use waste management is because we have no other option in Palmdale. Our cans get skipped (usually 1 or 2) at least once a month. When you call customer service to let them know a can was missed they insinuate that you are lying and claim to look at the video of your address, and tell you it is your fault for not putting the can down. I ask them to send me the video of my cans not being down and they retract their statement and say they will have a truck pick up your can. No truck ever came. Had to wait for my next week pick up. Oh what fun. I have a WM propane account for years now. Wm changed their billing PO Box without any notice. I have bill pay set up on this account for automatic payments through my bank via a mailed check. The last 2 checks they didn't receive. I just determined they changed their billing PO Box without proper notification. I had to pay for 2 stop pay-and reissue. What imbeciles that they don't advise customers their P.O. Box for payment receipt has changed AND don't forward from one P.O. Box to the other. Sadly this is typical of WM's "service ". Despite their customer service assurances on all 3 calls that no late charges would be given guess what I just received? Yep a late charge bill. I had to call them again and threaten to report them unless they waived the late charge , which they readily did. CAN NO ONE DO THEIR JOBS?? read more

Not gonna lie, I really hate this place. Unfortunately it's basically the only dump option in Palmdale, so you're stuck using it. Even when there's only a couple trucks in line, it still somehow takes over an hour just to dump. The whole place feels very unorganized and there's rarely anyone directing traffic, so everything backs up constantly. Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Horrible service, pickups constantly missed. Customer service is non-existent. Almost impossible to get a person on the phone due to automated system. When you do they are rude, and don't care. Most phone calls are disconnected before you get to anyone or are provided an answer to your problem. They have an illegal monopoly on our area, and we have no other trash pickup options. If we did I guarantee everyone who is stuck with this horrible service would leave for someone else. read more

This is a company with a very poor customer service! You call them for whatever reason it's never logged in into their system it's never done it's just like talking to the wall! They told me they don't have recycling in this new address and they suggested to put the recycling bin out and they didn't pick it up twice then today they picked all my bins! Do not be late on your bill. I was 2 invoices behind and didn't realize it. I called and scheduled payment right away. They never skipped picking up my trash but they charged a 65 dollar service fee for the almost interruption of service. Or late fee. Who does this? I pay for 2 cans and pay too much already. I guess they figure Im rich. They get away with so much. No recycle still, no yard can. Just the extra gas fee for coming to our neighborhood. Its a monopoly and unregulated. Nobody in the state or anywhere regulates anything or makes sure people can afford service. read more

Totally unsatisfied with my recycling pickup this evening around 5:30pm. The driver left at least half of my recyclables on the street . It fell out as he was returning the bin back to ground. He then drives off, leaving a fine mess in front of my home. I just paid my WM fee of $126.73 this week! I saw him get out of his truck and rearranged the neighbor's bins so he could do his job. Our trash has not been picked up again. Here's the story from WM. The only place our next door neighbor can put their trash cans is a couple of inches over our shared property line. WM considers any can even one inch over the line to be ours. Before computers on the trucks, this was rarely a problem. Now the drivers can only pick up the cans that the truck's computer tells them to. AND since one of the neighbor's cans is a couple of inches over the shared property line, WM says they are under no obligation to pick up the trash at the curb in front of our house if any of the neighbor's can(s) are over the property line. Every single person I talked to, or chatted with, gave me a different story when the trash would be picked up. What typically happens is they promise the customer anything, which is a lie, and if you meet all the criteria on the truck's computer, they may pick up the trash on next trash day. I didn't let the landlord know for a while because I wasn't sure if they paid for it and when I found out they did I was amazed at the fact that they don't do their job properly. After she called to get a green waste been replaced because the neigbhor stole it and told them that all 3 need to be picked up they picked it up maybe twice and then again no pick up's since. I have even had issues with the regular trash bing getting picked up a couple times. I never had issues with the waste company when I lived out in the San Fernando Valley. This company is shocking in the way it operates. UNprofessional. Anytime I've called them the employees on the phone were impatient and rude. Even accusatory! Very bizarre, and highly unpleasant experience. Any requests I've made have caused them to give me the third-degree. Wishing I could give them ZERO star ... our trash can (regular trash) was old and was full of cracks, so we called WM to have it replaced. They delivered an OLD, kind of dirty one with one wheel felt off THE SAME day we received it. So, we called WM again and they said they'd deliver another one (in a week) ... then they did come and "fixed" the wheel and told us it's now okay. Guess what happen next? Today the trash truck came over and picked up the trash and the "good" wheel was along with the trash, dumped into the trash truck. Now the trash can get only ONE wheel!!! A lot of missed pick ups. Billing through property taxes with no invoices. Harassment and shady surcharge when there is an overfill due to their previous missed pick ups. Their automated number is a nightmare and it's hard to get a live person. The Palmdale number is invalid. Some of their employees behave as if they had personal scores with customers. My recycling box disappeared, and I had to call with complaints. They accused me of Miss recycling and gave me a picture that was not mine. I had to write a complaint about that too. read more

I had almost a week in April that Waste Management did not pick up my trash, despite it being out in the right spot the night before pick up. I called each and every day to put in another missed pick up request, and yet the next day, it would either be marked online as having been picked up or that the can was not out. This went on every single day Monday through Friday until it was finally picked up on Saturday. My weekly pick up day is Monday morning so that did not help finally being picked up two days before the normal pick up anyway. It was also a big pain in the butt since I had to keep calling each day. Now, Tuesday, 7/08/25, my complaint is that my recycling can did not get picked up yesterday, Monday, but was put out in the same spot as my other 2 cans on Sunday night for the weekly Monday pick up. However, only the other 2 cans got picked up. The trash was marked online as not being out, but it did get picked up. The recycling can was not picked up but was marked as being picked up. I waited until around 8:40 pm last night to see if it would get picked up, but it never did so I marked it online as a missed pick up. Today, it still shows online as pending a pick up today, however, when I called around 2 pm, the representative said that the missed pick up was voided because the driver said he picked it up. It's still sitting in front of my house in the same spot since Sunday night and is not picked up. She put in a complaint for me but said she can't put it in the system again to be picked up since it was already voided. I always pay my bill and have been a customer for over 20 years. Why am I all of a sudden having these issues with this company? I shouldn't have to keep calling just to get my service. Also, it's really easy to see the cans in front of my house and not blocked by anything. I live in a typical residential neighborhood, nothing abnormal. My Green waste wasn't picked up on 4/24. They also did not pick up my neighbors green waste. i called the next day, 4/25 at 445 and Sid said they would pick up my trash on 4/25 or 4/26. my can is still outside. tomorrow 4/27, they are closed. Lady at the landfill windows was smart with her remarks already bad experience. My truck actually got stuck in the landfill and I asked for help to the landfill staff which never came. I moved into my home on 11/18/2024. Since moving in the service has been a disaster. The first time I called to schedule a pick up of my moving boxes. They told me they needed to be flat and tied and no more than 30lbs up to 4 stacks. I did everything they told me to do. They kept making excuses as to why they are not picking them up. Then I kept calling they were saying the driver took a picture and they're not right. But if you want you can take them to the landfill yourself. I instantly got pissed. Not to mention me living in a HOA community and can't have visible trash in front of the house. I had to end up putting all those boxes in my small car taking them to the landfill myself. And they kept lying about coming over here like I don't have cameras. Fast forward to my second request on 12/26/2024 for pick up of 2 mattresses and hot wheels truck and a non working TV. They first went to the wrong house saying they came by and took a picture saying the items weren't outside at curbside I told them that's not even my house. That's the wrong house. The items been sitting out since the night of 12/25/2024. So that's was another lie they told. Now they rescheduled for 12/28/2024. I check my cameras they came at 5:44 am on 12/28/2024 and only picked up the tv and the truck. Left the mattresses. I had to wait until 8 am to call to see what's going on. The lady told me they were in route. It's 2 different trucks that come for the toy truck and the tv and another truck for the mattresses. They never showed up. I took a drive over to the company myself. No one was able to help me they said the office just closed at 12pm. So now this morning 12/30/2024 I called again and I spoke with Shanisha and she said they said the mattresses wasn't fully wrapped. I refuse to keep going to spend money on buying plastic wrap to wrap the mattresses when these cats keep ripping the damn plastic. They took pictures on Saturday. She couldn't give me a time when they came by because I told her I can see everything from my living room and I sat in my living room all day until about 10 pm no one ever showed up and I also kept checking my cameras. No waste management truck or enterprise truck never came through here. They are sending people in regular cars to drive by and take pictures of items so they can try and say the reason for them not picking up the items. Me and my son recapped those mattresses twice. But unfortunately these cats that run around here keeps attacking the plastic on the mattresses which I have video of as well. She then told me she was going to schedule for the trash day which is Wednesday but it's New Years so again I have to wait until Thursday. I told them time and time again. I'm in a HOA community and I can be fined for shaving trash out for days at a time. Waste management is really a bad company to deal with. I wish we could choose who we deal with as far as our trash company. Where I moved from in Carson Ca we didn't have these problems. We schedule pick up. It was picked up with no problems. I didn't have to hear a bunch of lies and people sneaking around in regular cars taking pictures saying this wasn't done or that wasn't done. Waste management is FOS. Their drivers are lazy and so are the people working in the office. They have to remember everyone has cameras. And my cameras do not show anyone coming back on Saturday 12/28/2024 especially while I sat in my living room the whole day to see if anyone showed up. But only things on my cameras are regular cars not even delivery trucks. And I have over 1200 notifications from my camera and every time it alerts my phone I look to see. But of course no one from waste management is popping up. It seems to me they are training the workers to lie and do dry runs in their regular vehicles and take pictures to cover they a** about not doing their jobs for real. This is the worst company I think I've ever dealt with in my life. My trash collection was supposed to be $33 for 3 months. I am being charged $160 every 2 months. I just received my bill now it's $170. I'm going in to talk to someone because their customer service sucks like salty balls. I suggest any other company besides this one. Last week, I called and scheduled a bulk pick-up for two lightweight chairs. They were to be picked up today. I put them on the curb last night. At 2:15 pm. today, I noticed the chairs were still on the curb. I've had problems in the past with bulk pick-ups from WM. I called WM and the very nice customer service rep, confirmed my scheduled pick-pick for the two chairs and assured me they'd be picked up today. It's now nearly 11:00 pm. and the chairs are still there. Waste Management has competition and no accountability. So there you are. read more

This is the worst trash company i have ever dealt with. The garbage man dumps half of our trash all over the street while cracking and destroying the bins when the truck picks them up. If you call for a replacement bin they will send you a smaller one and charge you the same amount for it! An absolute rip off and poorly run company. My service is paid for. Trash day is today. Can was put our early. Driver came and didn't pick it up. Sent a pic saying it was over loaded. Customer service looked at pic and said its not. Lazy a$$ driver. I get home from work and my can lid is completely closed as it was this morning. Supposedly will be picked up today. Heard that before. Its always today it will then tomorrow and tomorrow turns into tomorrow and so on. Birds, dogs and the wind rip up bags they say to put out with the following weeks pick up which isn't allowed anymore. Jack up the prices and take away what we are allowed to put out.
