Steve is very knowledgeable when calling for appointments to drop off unwanted items.

This was my first time at this dump, and everything went fine until the very end. I waited while the person ahead of me checked out. As soon as they left, I pulled up to the booth. The lady immediately said something like, "I know it's your first time here, but I wasn't ready for you. Red means stop, green means go..." I never even noticed a traffic light. It was my first visit, so of course I didn't know the system. The way she said it was completely disrespectful--condescending and degrading, like she was talking to an idiot. Whether she was trying to be funny or not, it came off as rude and unprofessional. I'll stick with the Lancaster dump from now on. The staff there are consistently helpful and respectful, not smart-asses. read more

Always missing my trash, always customer service doesn't do anything about "until next scheduled service pick up" Doesn't help that because my house is on a corner, they miss my trash more frequently than often and have a habit of parking in front of my driveway for them to finish off whatever paperwork. At one point I was in a hurry and was trying to drive out of my driveway only for the trash driver to block me and keep telling me he's gonna be done in five minutes, that really pissed me off!! He literally can't drive a few feet down onto the corner of the street and just park there? They really have to park in front of my driveway? read more

Not only do they gouge you for the terrible service, their drivers are also liars. I deal with wm with my home trash as well as my work trash. The drivers can't read large sign clearly labeled what's waste roll off is which. But hey, keep raising the rates for this quality service. Oh and don't forget, plastic bottles = ok for recycling bin...plastic bags = you will get a warning letter mailed to you that they will charge you if you have plastic bags in the recycling bin. Don't bother coming here, the weight station receptionist is slow on purpose, they ask for a lot more information than other location, they will overcharge you, and when you have a weight sticker, they will not use it and have you wait in line to get weighted out. read more

There needs to be a public meeting about these rate increases. Seems like every time you turn around there's a rate increase. This is getting ridiculous, and when you ask about it they say the city of Palmdale approved it. This is becoming too much read more

Waste Management really is a scam i have scheduled for bulk pickup and I arranged for this 2 weeks ago the driver apparently went to the wrong address and just drove past the items on my location and they said that because of they're Union they can't send the driver back and they don't work overtime this was last Thursday 8/21/2026 I called them Friday the following day and was told that they will pickup the same day this was not done again and scheduled my pickup ticket for Monday 8/24/2026 I've been waiting since 7:30 am and was told they would be here on or before 6:00 pm My items are still there by my driveway and of course Waste management is already closed for the evening I'm wondering where else can we call to put this company in place so that they don't treat their customers like garbage cause they seem to specialize on it please advice me before I can seek legal help read more

The only reason we use waste management is because we have no other option in Palmdale. Our cans get skipped (usually 1 or 2) at least once a month. When you call customer service to let them know a can was missed they insinuate that you are lying and claim to look at the video of your address, and tell you it is your fault for not putting the can down. I ask them to send me the video of my cans not being down and they retract their statement and say they will have a truck pick up your can. No truck ever came. Had to wait for my next week pick up. Shame on WM read more

You can't compare it to another business since they have a contract with the city and no other business can pick up your trash. It would be nice to have at least a second option. But monopoly is the name of the game. read more

Oh what fun. I have a WM propane account for years now. Wm changed their billing PO Box without any notice. I have bill pay set up on this account for automatic payments through my bank via a mailed check. The last 2 checks they didn't receive. I just determined they changed their billing PO Box without proper notification. I had to pay for 2 stop pay-and reissue. What imbeciles that they don't advise customers their P.O. Box for payment receipt has changed AND don't forward from one P.O. Box to the other. Sadly this is typical of WM's "service ". Despite their customer service assurances on all 3 calls that no late charges would be given guess what I just received? Yep a late charge bill. I had to call them again and threaten to report them unless they waived the late charge , which they readily did. CAN NO ONE DO THEIR JOBS?? read more

Poor/rude customer service. One of the worst services all around. Rude/disrespectful driver. Called to address the issue and they do not care at all. The driver keeps on skipping my trash and I pay for the services on time. Wish there was another company I could switch to. I would Never recommend their services to anyone. read more

I just moved to Palmdale, CA. TWO WEEKS AGO, I called to arrange the start of my service, with pick-up beginning on 2/25/26. In that call, I alerted them that the house I am moving into is missing the recycle bin. Also, the yard waste bin is broken in two places and needs replacing. I was assured this would all be taken care of by the time I arrived on 2/18. I arrived on 2/18 to the new house and saw that they brought a new yard waste bin, but failed to take away the broken one. And failed to bring the recycle bin. So, on 2/19 I called again to tell them that I have the new yard waste bin, but the broken one is still here, and also I still don't have a recycle bin (and when unpacking a whole house, there is LOTS of recycling accumulating. They assured me it would be taken care of. On Mon 2/23, I called again to confirm WHEN it would be taken care of because my neighborhood puts trash out on Tues nights for Weds pick up. I was told on Mon 2/23 that it would be tended to (new recycle bin brought and busted yard waste bin removed) by 4pm on Tues 2/24. Well, I just did a live chat with a WM customer support how tells me they cannot do a delivery/removal the same day as the request, and since I am making the request today, it will be done sometime tomorrow. I point out that I made the request TWO WEEKS AGO and again nearly a week ago, and called yesterday to confirm it would be tended to today. She just says "sorry. I understand how frustrating that must be. You can put recycling out in paper bags or boxes that are not bigger than 3 feet by 3 feet. Well, we have high winds here in the evenings, so if I do that, my paper products will blow all over the neighborhood. And this would require reassembling broken down boxes. Not happening. So, now I guess I have to wait and see if they bother to bring the recycle bin tomorrow (or even take away the busted yard waste bin). So far, not a very good customer experience. I did insist on a 25% credit on my next bill to reflect the utter failure on their part to do the simple task of bringing a bin within a TWO WEEK timeline, and then not being able to do the pick up on trash day because they failed at their job to give me a container. At least there's that. read more

This is a company with a very poor customer service! You call them for whatever reason it's never logged in into their system it's never done it's just like talking to the wall! They told me they don't have recycling in this new address and they suggested to put the recycling bin out and they didn't pick it up twice then today they picked all my bins! Like how ridiculous is that! They had one job to do just to pick up the recycling bin but they picked up ALL MY BINS!!!!! Like they can't take care of one simple request! Ughhhhhh get it together already! Terrible customer service and the drivers too! read more

Totally unsatisfied with my recycling pickup this evening around 5:30pm. The driver left at least half of my recyclables on the street . It fell out as he was returning the bin back to ground. He then drives off, leaving a fine mess in front of my home. I just paid my WM fee of $126.73 this week! I saw him get out of his truck and rearranged the neighbor's bins so he could do his job. I'm not asking for favors. C'mon man. I tried to contact WM but no luck, hence venting my frustration here. read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Horrible service, pickups constantly missed. Customer service is non-existent. Almost impossible to get a person on the phone due to automated system. When you do they are rude, and don't care. Most phone calls are disconnected before you get to anyone or are provided an answer to your problem. They have an illegal monopoly on our area, and we have no other trash pickup options. If we did I guarantee everyone who is stuck with this horrible service would leave for someone else. read more

Not gonna lie, I really hate this place. Unfortunately it's basically the only dump option in Palmdale, so you're stuck using it. Even when there's only a couple trucks in line, it still somehow takes over an hour just to dump. The whole place feels very unorganized and there's rarely anyone directing traffic, so everything backs up constantly. Every trip here turns into a huge waste of time.& that's coming from a contractor who goes to dumps all over so cal. Be warned lol read more

Our trash has not been picked up again. Here's the story from WM. The only place our next door neighbor can put their trash cans is a couple of inches over our shared property line. WM considers any can even one inch over the line to be ours. Before computers on the trucks, this was rarely a problem. Now the drivers can only pick up the cans that the truck's computer tells them to. AND since one of the neighbor's cans is a couple of inches over the shared property line, WM says they are under no obligation to pick up the trash at the curb in front of our house if any of the neighbor's can(s) are over the property line. Every single person I talked to, or chatted with, gave me a different story when the trash would be picked up. What typically happens is they promise the customer anything, which is a lie, and if you meet all the criteria on the truck's computer, they may pick up the trash on next trash day. They also may not. read more

Do not be late on your bill. I was 2 invoices behind and didn't realize it. I called and scheduled payment right away. They never skipped picking up my trash but they charged a 65 dollar service fee for the almost interruption of service. Or late fee. Who does this? I pay for 2 cans and pay too much already. I guess they figure Im rich. They get away with so much. No recycle still, no yard can. Just the extra gas fee for coming to our neighborhood. Its a monopoly and unregulated. Nobody in the state or anywhere regulates anything or makes sure people can afford service. read more

Their ability to actually pick up my trash on trash day and the people at the call center are rude and don't give a hoot about your problem.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience with your customer service staff. During my visit, I was informed that my trash exceeded the acceptable weight limit. When I asked for clarification or assistance, the employee refused to provide the name of their supervisor or identify who I could speak with to address the issue. Additionally, I was told that payment could not be accepted because the owner had to be present, despite my willingness to pay for the service. I found this policy to be unclear and was not given a satisfactory explanation or any alternative solution. The lack of professionalism, refusal to provide a supervisor's name, and unwillingness to help to resolve the situation made the experience extremely frustrating. Costumers should be treated with respect and provided with clear information regarding company policies. They should also have access to a supervisor when they request one. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed, that I receive an explanation of the policies regarding weight limits and payments requirements, and that appropriate action be taken to improve customer service so others do not have a similar experience. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Yosef Sapir Paradise Furniture. read more

0 stars button!!!!???!?? Moved to Palmdale last year and the recycling hasn't been taken for the majority of the year it's insane. I didn't let the landlord know for a while because I wasn't sure if they paid for it and when I found out they did I was amazed at the fact that they don't do their job properly. After she called to get a green waste been replaced because the neigbhor stole it and told them that all 3 need to be picked up they picked it up maybe twice and then again no pick up's since. I have even had issues with the regular trash bing getting picked up a couple times. I never had issues with the waste company when I lived out in the San Fernando Valley. This company is shocking in the way it operates. UNprofessional. Anytime I've called them the employees on the phone were impatient and rude. Even accusatory! Very bizarre, and highly unpleasant experience. Any requests I've made have caused them to give me the third-degree. Wishing I could give them ZERO star ... our trash can (regular trash) was old and was full of cracks, so we called WM to have it replaced. They delivered an OLD, kind of dirty one with one wheel felt off THE SAME day we received it. So, we called WM again and they said they'd deliver another one (in a week) ... then they did come and "fixed" the wheel and told us it's now okay. Guess what happen next? Today the trash truck came over and picked up the trash and the "good" wheel was along with the trash, dumped into the trash truck. Now the trash can get only ONE wheel!!! Called them again only this time they said they'd swap it (but will be NEXT service day, meaning next week from today)! Unbelievable!!!! read more

A lot of missed pick ups. Billing through property taxes with no invoices. Harassment and shady surcharge when there is an overfill due to their previous missed pick ups. Their automated number is a nightmare and it's hard to get a live person. The Palmdale number is invalid. Some of their employees behave as if they had personal scores with customers. My recycling box disappeared, and I had to call with complaints. They accused me of Miss recycling and gave me a picture that was not mine. I had to write a complaint about that too. read more

I had almost a week in April that Waste Management did not pick up my trash, despite it being out in the right spot the night before pick up. I called each and every day to put in another missed pick up request, and yet the next day, it would either be marked online as having been picked up or that the can was not out. This went on every single day Monday through Friday until it was finally picked up on Saturday. My weekly pick up day is Monday morning so that did not help finally being picked up two days before the normal pick up anyway. It was also a big pain in the butt since I had to keep calling each day. Now, Tuesday, 7/08/25, my complaint is that my recycling can did not get picked up yesterday, Monday, but was put out in the same spot as my other 2 cans on Sunday night for the weekly Monday pick up. However, only the other 2 cans got picked up. The trash was marked online as not being out, but it did get picked up. The recycling can was not picked up but was marked as being picked up. I waited until around 8:40 pm last night to see if it would get picked up, but it never did so I marked it online as a missed pick up. Today, it still shows online as pending a pick up today, however, when I called around 2 pm, the representative said that the missed pick up was voided because the driver said he picked it up. It's still sitting in front of my house in the same spot since Sunday night and is not picked up. She put in a complaint for me but said she can't put it in the system again to be picked up since it was already voided. I always pay my bill and have been a customer for over 20 years. Why am I all of a sudden having these issues with this company? I shouldn't have to keep calling just to get my service. Also, it's really easy to see the cans in front of my house and not blocked by anything. I live in a typical residential neighborhood, nothing abnormal. I am so fed up and frustrated with this company! read more

Waste management is a complete joke. We're lucky if they manage to pick up 2 trash cans and 2 green Waste containers.
