I going to rate this company as very poor. I live in Lago Vista. I'm old and disabled and alone. I can no longer take my trash up and down my drive. We started with this company over a year ago. They were notified but for the next 7 months, I spent every Thursday, pickup day watching my Trash because they never picked it up and I had to call the city. This city off is closed on Friday so if I didn't get them on Thursday, my trash didn't get picked up until the following week. I finally threatened them with a lawyer and they started to pick it up but now that has stopped again and I'm fighting again. I don't know what to do. I have 2 weeks of trash In my drive now and it smells. It's Thursday again and I have no idea if they will pick up again. Based on past experience, probably not but I continue to have to pay every month. read more

My quarterly rate has been consistently increasing, 100% in the last two years. My recent statement is $331. My next door neighbor is paying $93.66 for the exact same service for the last 4yrs. These people are insane!!!! EVERY Saturday morning at 7:30AM these people come in and SLAM the trash can TWO times like they hate their life and everyone living in it. The absolute worst experience. 1) We get random charges for slightly over full garbage which are more than what we pay for a month. 2) It's impossible to speak with a real human, and although they would like you to do everything online, the online experience is pretty bad. I don't mind using an online interface to self-manage things. But it has to work. 3) We needed to move our trash. It took like 2 months to get them to do this. Once they moved it, they didn't know where it was and never actually pick it up. So now we haven't gotten garbage service for a month. Ask for an extra pick up because they keep missing pick ups? Customer service is terrible. On hold for 117 min. to cancel my service. They bought their competitor and we were automatically switched to WM. It was fine for 6 months, then they jumped the rate by 50%! This was after many weeks of missing pickups, etc. Just terrible customer service. Also, they are expensive. I needed a 15 yd. roll off for a remodel and they were at least 1/3 more plus I could only keep it for 2 days. Other company (Jack's) left it for 14 days before daily charges started. read more

A strange fee was added to the bill this month. "Recyclable Material Offset" in the amount if $111.30. I called to inquire about the new fee and they tell me that when they sell the recyclable material that is collected and the price goes down, they charge it to the customers. WHAT?????? I then asked if the customer gets a credit when the price goes up. You guessed it! NO, we do not. So, we pay WM to haul off our trash, they then sell it and if they don't sell it for enough money, they charge us AGAIN!!! Unbelievable. read more

A basketball sized piece of concrete fell off of one of their trucks on the freeway at night and slammed into the front of my car. They refused to acknowledge this happened and of course refused to pay for damages. This was a few years ago and now that I have made rank in my company, I always always always make sure to never select Waste Management for my jobs. Since then I have done 9 commercial jobs anywhere from 1 mil to 25 mil in total project cost. I guess what comes around goes around. read more

If I could give NO stars I would. I will never use this company again and recommend no else use them either. I scheduled a bagster pick-up, received a confirmation that they would pick up between Monday and Wednesday. By 4:30 on Wed they had not come; I called and spoke with Olivia who said she would call me back with when I was on the schedule for pick-up. Thursday afternoon no call back and the bagster was still sitting in the driveway. I called again and spoke to a very rude lady who said because of high demand it would be Friday between 5am and 5pm before they picked it up. Saturday morning it's still sitting in the driveway and of course there is no customer service on the weekend. I ended up calling another company who arrived within 2 hours and hauled everything away. Waste management and bagster is a JOKE! these guys are a scam. currently a 100 buck plus minimum and they require safety vest that they sell onsite for 5 bucks each. The website is extremely difficult to navigate and they purposely make it difficult to know what the costs and requirements are until you get there. the number on their website goes to a call center that knows nothing about anything and i was finally able to track down their ACTUAL phone number 512-272-4329. don't give them you business out of desperation, they will take all your money and or send you away with your trash. the Travis County Landfill is just south of the airport and they are nice enough, and don't gouge. the cost for a pickup truck full there was $40. read more

Last week I put both out, 1st time since WM. And they took mine I've had forever. Called them, "We're not responsible for personal property ". No effort to get mine back or replaced. This place is certainly not a landfill for the community. It is a landfill for commercial purposes only. I went to dump an old sofa and love seat. After pulling onto the scale I was told it would be $94. The woman tells me they have a ONE AND A HALF TON minimum! This renders the landfill useless for 99% of us homeowners doing small cleanup projects around the house. I have dumped similar loads at the Williamson county landfill for about $12 - they don't have a minimum weight. Also beware - if your load isn't tarped, they will charge you a $25 fine. It doesn't matter how well secured it is. They will also make you purchase a safety vest if you don't have one - they will no longer lend you one. I know there aren't many landfill options in the Austin area, but unless you are dumping a ton or so of junk, look elsewhere. read more

Absolute horror story! They do as good a job as other trash disposal companies, but their contracts are your worst nightmare. They bought out another local trash disposal company and assumed the contract and have proceeded to double and triple the pricing, but claim you cannot get out of the contract unless you pay for the entire term of the contract. They are not competitive as believe me as soon as we can get out of the contract we WILL. And we will never recommend this company. They are now claiming the recycle container contained "trash" and so they can fine us unlimited amounts without providing proof of such contamination. read more

$1150.00 minimum charge to drop off trash. Very pricey. The landfill and Hutto Texas is a lot cheaper. If you're a do-it-yourselfer or small-time operator or not running a commercial dump truck this is not the place for you. read more

Total ripoff. Cost for a pickup truck bed 3/4 full of leaves and brush and 1/4 of old vinyl floor was $63.14. Flat rate, $38.00, fuel surcharge of $4.15, standard environmental fee, $10. Then, you are REQUIRED to have a safety vest to go up and unload your truck. "Oh, how convenient, we have them right here . . . for $10" Then at the very bottom right above the total there was a "total fees" line that was $0.99. I have no idea what that was. Also, as the previous poster noted, if you don't have your load tarped its an extra $25. Take a safety vest and it would be $10 cheaper and make sure to tarp your load. We got a temporary dumpster, and filled it up. I called in Monday morning and asked that it be swapped out with an empty one, and extended a week. Even though I had called the number on the side of the dumpster, they told me I had called the wrong number, and gave me a new phone number to call. I called, and called, and called, and got transferred, and got transferred, and an hour and a half later, I finally found someone, who informed me that the home owner would have to call in and make that change. Faced with trying to get a little old lady to understand the phone system, I called back and told them to come pick the thing up, and that I'd be getting a new one from a different company. The day for pickup comes and goes, and they never show. I called on the day of scheduled pickup, and they assured me I was scheduled for a Wednesday pickup, but they never came. Thursday I call back, and after multiple transfers, new phone numbers, etc, I'm finally told that I had authorized them to extend it a week of time, and that they wouldn't be picking it up. I told them I had only wanted to do that if a new dumpster came, because I told every single person I talked to in all of this that the dumpster I had was completely full. So, they wouldn't allow me to order a new dumpster for the homeowner, but they allowed me to extend the time on a completely full dumpster. Sure, because I love to pay extra for a giant thing to sit in our yard, unusable, with a landscaping crew trying to work around them. They finally scheduled a pickup for me for the next day, but they refused to reverse the charges for the Thursday and Friday that this thing was sitting here, after I had told them to get it Monday (which should have meant a Tuesday pickup.) Apparently, even though they have several different phone numbers posted all around, it's my responsibility to know which one is which. Though our order was over $600, they refused to reverse a $20 charge, over something that is their mistake. Good job, team. This company is horrible. Don't use them. The new dumpster service I found is not only friendlier, but the same sized dumpster was about $200 cheaper. I wish I had used them in the first place. I used these things a lot, as do my family and friends in the construction business, and I've informed all of them, and they won't be using them. A Ford Ranger with scrap wood, ottoman and two drawer file cabinet. They said the base charge is $99, plus more if you have extra weight. Plus the safety vest. Someone needs to post the prices online and let people know upfront. Anyway, I went two entrances down and was able to dump at Sunset Farms Landfill for $57.56! read more
