Tripti, who owns Mishika dance academy is the best dance chroeographer by far in Seattle. I needed a teacher who is great in her dance moves, expressions and energy levels. And i got all that at her class. She evn teaches students who have less dancing skills and within 4 classes, you will notice that you have become dance connoisseurs. Within a month i got to perform in 2 of her major dance shows that had over 300+ crowd. If you are looking to be on stage, then join her performance group. And if you just want to learn dancing, then that is the perfect place to become dancing champions. She is very patient and she will teach you the step until you do not get it right. The best part is she records all of her class videos so you get to see what you did wrong or where you need improvement. Dancing is an art where you need to have high energy level, be graceful and display expressions and in her academy you will lean all of that. She enjoys dance and makes sure you enjoy it too. Love it! I would highly recommend joining Mishika dance academy and east or west, Tripti is the best :)

From the very beginning, everyone has been welcoming, supportive, and incredibly helpful. Mrs. Debbie, the owner, recently took time out of her busy schedule right before classes started to help my daughter get fitted for new ballet shoes. That level of personal attention and care says so much about the studio and the people who run it. My daughter loves her classes so much that she actually begged me to enroll her in an additional class! She looks forward to dance every week and has loved all of her teachers. Special shoutout to Miss Olivia, who has been wonderful and has helped make dance such a positive experience for her. We just finished another recital season, and every year I am blown away by the enthusiasm, dedication, and passion of the instructors. Watching the recital, it's easy to see how much work goes into preparing the dancers while still making the experience fun and encouraging. And honestly, anyone who has ever tried to teach a group of 4- and 5-year-olds anything can appreciate how impressive it is to see those young dancers smiling, having fun, and confidently performing on stage! What I appreciate most is that this studio has grown with my daughter. From her early classes as a little one to the dancer she is becoming today, she has always felt encouraged, supported, and excited to come back each week. We are so grateful to be part of this dance family and highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a positive, nurturing environment for their child.

While it's been a great opportunity for learning how to follow directions and take turns, both my husband and I didn't feel much of a welcoming environment. If you can start your kid early at 18 months or if you have a very calm toddler that likes to follow directions, this place would be perfect. Not the case for our son. All he wanted to do was run around in circles and climb on the equipment... Which is still perfectly developmentally normal for a 2 year old. The judgement both my husband and I felt was completely uncalled for and unnecessary and I will never be returning to this gym ever again.

The most important piece for me was finding a studio that offered something beyond beginner tap and a studio that is certified by Dance Master of America-RSDS fit that criteria. The studio rooms are quite spacious and have viewing windows so others can view from the outside throughout the year without being distracting. There is plenty of parking outside and there is an office area where you can pay your tuition or purchase items in their dancer shop. My class was great. Many of my classmates had been dancing together for years and welcomed me with open arms. My instructor was Beth, the owner, she is a wonderful teacher and is really focused on helping dancers with their technique. This studio is a positive space that encourages dancers to learn and grow. I was fortunate to watch the recital (and also participate) and I was blown away by the talent of the dancers and choreographers.

Marisa does not ever come across as a judgy person and you feel comfortable with everything, though you may not know the moves at all! She made us feel beautiful and we had such a great time with bruises to commemorate this awesome session! I am not sure if it is because we had a small private party that it was not the studio as pictured. We were at Marisa's place which she converted an area to be a private studio with 4 poles. Though small, it was intimate and a great atmosphere - not to mention super reasonable pricing! The small routine she taught was sensual and challenging enough where you want to try it over and over again! Although the instructor was a substitute, I felt the quality of the lesson was not diminished at all. Pace of the lesson is beginner friendly, and even though it took me the first half of the hour to adjust and remember the vibe of dancing, I was still able to pick up the fundamentals and feel confident in myself dancing a few 8 counts at the end without hesitation. I had a great time, even with the fact that the class was really small (about 6 people), as it normally feels a bit intimidating for me to dance in small groups, at least for now. The only issue for me is the commute as I don't have a car to commute from downtown Seattle, but whenever my friend with a car wants to do more dance lessons, this will certainly be the first place I will think of!
