I had to bring my daughter in during a vacation trip nearby because she wasn't feeling well. The…read moremedical staff were fantastic: they were sweet, patient, gentle, and very thorough. They also reliably followed-up with the result of tests done. The registration by phone was also simple enough. The one part that was fine but maybe not 100% was the initial reception. For one, not long before we got there, I called ahead and was told the wait time was at least 40 minutes. I get there 20 minutes later and the waiting room is completely empty, which is a good thing but I don't know why they made it seem like they were busy. I parked right in front at a designated spot and text the number on the sign. I completed the registration by phone. But when I went inside I got a cold reception. I said we were there for my daughter's appointment and then got softly reprimanded for having checked into the wrong Atracare location. Except I followed the instructions right on the sign at the designated parking space, so if that went to another location that's Atracare's doing. It's never ideal when you're walking in with a sick kiddo and getting a cold, scoldy reception. Fortunately things picked up from there. I'm not local to any Atracare but I would go back if I needed medical care in the area. I was really happy with the medical staff, the electronic registration procedures, the wait time, and the cleanliness of the clinical area.

At my first visit with Dr. W, I found him to be very unprofessional, but I didn't care, as long as he could get to root of the problem. After ordering blood work -( 25 vials of blood), MRI, CTs, X-Rays, Ultrasounds and Bone Scans, he said he still wasn't certain I had PMR, despite all test results pointed to that. My PC doctor personally called him to ask why he wouldn't give a diagnosis of PMR so I could begin treatment, when to the exclusion of everything else tested for, it was the most likely issue. Dr. Wanalist got very angry that a PCP would question a specialist such as himself, and he tried to send me for a bone marrow biopsy! Rather than go through that, I went to a Rheumatologist in Salisbury who instantly diagnosed me as having PMR as she said, I had all the classic symptoms. The new Rheumatologist began treatment and I was feeling better in no time. She actually apologized to me that the "other" doctor unnecessarily put me through so much. Worst experience with a doctor I have ever had. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't walk, away from this dude!
