I think I'm still in shock over my experience with J…read more I could tell you about how this guy gave me an in-depth home inspection while I was out-of-state that made me feel like I was right there the whole time. 100% felt like that was some of the best money I've ever spent. I could tell you how he -- completely unsolicited --offered to walk through the report in person with me whenever I got into Washington for the home sale. But Y'ALL. Let me tell you instead how I called this guy nearly TWO YEARS AFTER THE INSPECTION in a panic during the last big freeze when an exterior hose bib failed. Why? Because a) the water company had come through and updated the water meter, changing the look of the main shut-off (rendering my limited experience with the valve totally useless), and b) no plumber would come out, since they were responding to 19,383,629 other freeze-related emergencies. I expected NOTHING from this guy at this point: it was the hailiest of Hail Mary's. Instead, I got a quick "I'm on my way" from him. WHAT?!? When he got there, found another shut-off, and kept me from going without water (and my house from floating away on its own plumbing-failure river), my shriveled little Grinchy heart DID grow three sizes that day! J is good people doing good work. I will never work with anyone else for home inspections.

He does a very complete inspection. He emailed me the report the same day. It is very useful since I know what projects to work on first. He is an expert. He answered my questions with ease and I will continue to use him for future homes I buy. The $595 fee was very fair. He spent over 4 hours at my house yesterday and i feel so relieved that I know the condition of my house. His work is exceptional.

We have owned and sold several homes and know that having a home inspection is an absolute…read morenecessity when you're making one of the biggest purchases in your life. As we were new to the area, we did a lot of research on home inspectors and ended up hiring Keven at True North Home Inspections. Keven is extremely professional, thorough, and most importantly, unbiased. During the inspection, he used some pretty advanced tools (FLIR cameras, moisture meter, gas detector, etc.) and found a way to inspect almost every single nook and cranny, donning full coveralls for the crawl space inspection. He is keenly observant and caught many issues that most home inspectors might not find. His reports are detail-oriented and include multi-media videos/photos (you can actually see the report in progress on his tablet during the inspection), which we found to be an extremely valuable tool when we were negotiating with the sellers. On top of that, Keven clearly has a passion for the industry - he continuously educates himself in the field and even trains other home inspectors. Already reasonably priced (prices are listed on the company's site), the advice he provided was above and beyond a typical inspection and we felt were worth every penny - we ended up hiring Keven 4 times in 8 months!

Having reviewed this company's report, I have had several different licensed contractors look at…read morethe report and then attempt to verify and or repair the True North Home Inspection recommendations for repairs. This inspection report proved beyond any shadow of doubt that the inspection was conducted by a incompetent, uninformed person that either never read the the written code books or did not understand what the code books were stating. As such it cost the seller thousands of dollars to prove the useless condemnations that the inspection falsely stated. Human error is always possible and understandable but gross negligence and a vivid lack of understanding what the code states and how it is applied is criminal. I would suggest that one hires competent qualified professionals to complete a knowledgeable competent home inspection
