From the front desk staff to the doctor in the back, all were compassionate, knowledgeable, and kind. I'm dealing with my first serious health scare. I felt anxious when I first arrived, but I left feeling better because the staff were able to answer all my questions and concerns throughout my appointment. I didn't have to wait 5-7 business days for results! It was a seamless process, and if I ever need imaging services again, I wouldn't hesitate to take the drive to Clinton.

My experience at this facility was incredibly frustrating due to their rigid internal policies…read moreoverriding my actual doctor's orders. My doctor specifically requested a renal ultrasound, yet upon arrival, the staff insisted on adding a bladder ultrasound to the procedure. Even after I called my doctor and he confirmed that a renal-only scan was perfectly sufficient, the facility refused to budge. To make matters worse, once I was already on the exam table, they declined to perform either scan because they claimed my bladder wasn't "full enough" for the extra test they had insisted on adding. The lack of flexibility and poor communication was staggering. The pre-appointment instructions I received mentioned nothing about needing a full bladder or an additional scan. When I offered to sit and chug water to resolve the issue, I was told no because they were about to close. The ultrasound technician even admitted she had "gotten in trouble" in the past for only doing part of an order, which made it feel like they were prioritizing their own internal bureaucracy, or simply looking for an excuse to stop working for the day, over patient care. If you want a facility that actually follows your doctor's orders and values your time, I suggest going elsewhere.

The front office could use some sensitivity training and have more compassion regarding the patient's needs when trying to just get a copy of the results since there seems to be a communication between them and my primary's office. The ladies in the back very pleasant but that front office and Glenda that tries????? to assist is NOT the answer. Her appt was scheduled for 2:00 pm on a Friday , she was not seen until a hour later. my daughter was vomiting before he entered the room. He did a brief evaluation, prescribed her nausea medication, sent her to the lab for blood work and put orders in for Pelvic exam and chest x ray , which had to be scheduled ! My daughter was so sick and weak when she FaceTimed me that I had call someone to piCK her up because she drove herself to her appointment. Once I attempted to call someone in his office to assist her it was 5pm , closed for the day . my daughter had to leave Camp Springs to go to Kensington because they was a appt available for her pelvic exam that day . In route there my daughter vomiting continued , upon arrival my daughter's vomiting continues . Instead of going to radiology she went to urgent care ! She was treated until they were closing at 11 pm , the transported to Gaithersburg for observation & treatment until The next day ! Diagnosed with food poisoning and severe dehydration. They failed terribly in patient care ! Not to mention Camp Springs has an urgent care literally 50 ft. From the internal medicine dept that she should have been transferred to before he clocked out ! I also don't understand why in her condition and age , he didn't he care enough to ask did she drive herself there before discharging a patient experiencing chest pains and abdominal pain. I Am very pleased with the care she received at Kensington and Gaithersburg.

I made an appointment in advance and checked in at the kiosk upon arrival. Within five minutes, I was called to the front desk to check in, then called to the back. The phlebotomist found my vein with ease and the entire process took me less than 10 minutes. I will say that the bedside manner was a little dry, but if someone is just taking my blood, I don't expect them to be screaming with joy or smiling from ear to ear the whole time. As long as they don't kill me and don't cause excessive pain and do what they are supposed to do, it's all good.

The waiting room is tiny and feels super old-fashioned. The bays inside where you get the actual bloodwork are just three areas of one room partitioned by two curtains. It's pretty cramped. In this day and age, it's weird to get your blood drawn in such run-down conditions. Still, I won't dock any stars because the most important thing is quality of care -- and for whatever deficiencies the premises may have (and there are a LOT, including what I have already described, but also a very wheelchair-unfriendly entrance), at least the quality of care is superb. I was honestly having a lot of trouble wheeling my dad inside. Not only did one of the other patients in the waiting room get up to help, but two staffers came out as well. Everyone was so kind. The tiny waiting room was packed. I'm shocked that me and our professional caregiver were able to find seats together along with a space to park my dad in his wheelchair. Check-in was a breeze. The two kiosks at the front of the waiting room may be the only objects identifying that we are in the year 2025! LOL! After using the kiosk, you wait until your name is called to the front desk. Make sure you have your lab order ready to hand to them because that's pretty much all they need to finish your check-in. (A thorough lab order will have all your contact info, DOB, as well as all your insurance info.) The phlebotomist was young but very kind. My dad is 73 so finding a vein took a while. The phlebotomist was very patient. When she needed help, she didn't hesitate to ask one of her colleagues, who appeared to be in a supervisory role. I didn't get their names. But I'll always remember their kindness. Although lab work and blood draws like this are fairly simple and quick procedures, I appreciate the wonderful bedside manner of everyone involved from start to finish, from check-in to the moment when we apply pressure to the cotton ball at the injection site. A consistent bedside manner across all aspects of healthcare is important and everyone deserves it, but I must say that it is especially important for elderly patients like my dad who can become easily agitated. My dad was super chill the entire time and a large part of that is because of the calm, professional staff. But yeah, the premises are kinda ick. Sanitary and clean, yes. But quite drab and dreary. Lol.
