My child has been depressed, stressed out, and bullied, yet they treat him as it were his fault. Yes he is a CHILD and he is allowed to make mistakes. I have witnessed staff scream at children and treat them unfair. My child has made mistakes MONTHS ago and is still paying for them now. Instead of taking recess or finding other less harmful consequences near the time of the incident, they have decided to take away field trips, and now even the end-of-the-year carnival. Myself and other moms agree that our children don't feel included and in fact they feel harassed and targeted. My child has suffered immensely, including not having proper education for a whole year due to lack of having a teacher the entire 3rd grade. Ms. Galindo has confronted my child about expressing how he feels at school TO ME, only making him feel like he can no longer confide in me. Other staff I do not trust are Dr. Walker and Mr. Devlin. My feelings towards Ms. Degrandis are mixed because it's hard to tell whether she is working with you or against you. Also, due to his depression phase and not wanting to go to school, I had contacted the school counselor and his teacher about receiving help and absolutely nothing was done! My child needed HELP. What happened instead? They accused him of every mishap and took away any kind of fun he could possibly have, making it hard for him to remain motivated and engaged in his education. Benito Juarez Elementary has failed my child and I regret not taking him out of this school sooner.

The school has a nice clean layout, the staff are nice and helpful, and if I had a job at that school, it wouldn't bother me. I was meeting with a colleague when I took this picture. For the 6th graders, in the beginning of the school year will take a little photographer class and take pictures around the school. Later a student's best picture will be around the school for the rest of the school year. This school has a music program called sound minds. This program teaches you how to play a cello or a violin. When you get better they will take you on a field trip to play with other orchestras. You might even be able to see the California symphony have a rehearsal. What I'm trying to say is just that this is a great school to go to.
