First time here and I'm well pleased with their service. They have a clean facility and professional staff. Our dog can be a bit fidgety and we wouldn't want to nick him while trimming his hair or nails. They put to rest any fears we had because they expertly cut his hair and he looks wonderful and we don't have any scratches from long nails. They even called us during the trim to explain why they cut him lower because of some matting and we really appreciate the transparency so everyone stays comfy and in the know. The ladies at this establishment do a great job. Our dog was a little apprehensive at first and it took some convincing on our part to encourage the pooch to go in the back room. Price was reasonable and we requested the nail trim and grind first, during the procedure we added the teeth brushing and later were told it is some kind of a foam they spray in the dog's mouth so we are not sure how effective that would be but trust them that it does the job. Not an actual brushing like humans do. We are happy with the way the nails look and feel and we are sure that the pooch feels much better. We will return during the week since it seems that they are much busier during weekends and prices are higher understandably. I want to explain why my review has changed the reason for it being is that I have been bringing the puppy here that I have which is like my son since he was six weeks old I had nothing but good experiences until today. I simply dared to ask the question if they do any sort of packages with discounts if you bring your puppy add a regular basis hence I bring my puppy every four weeks for a grooming and all the works. Their response was no that they have had puppies I have come there for years who are now big dogs and they don't do any kind of special treatment for them I left my pup for his grooming appointment. When I return because I got a notification that my dog was ready I noticed that my dog had a lot of wood it looks to be to the human eye dandruff never had this issue with him before and I do bathe in myself at home- I also noticed that his nails were not grind it down how I had asked I had to ask them to take him back and grind them down some more because he was scratching me still so much that I could tell that the grinding they had done which they charge you $10 for was very little if none when they brought him back out the second time his nails then we're grounded and I could tell because he couldn't scratch at me as hard and leaving a mark. Normally I get asked if I would like to schedule an appointment for the next time and that is how it has been since March today they didn't even ask me when was the next time that I wanted to schedule a grooming appointment for my puppy so I will tell you that they have lost a great client I will find services somewhere else I cannot believe the absolute attitude that I got simply by asking if they do anything as far as a discount for somebody who comes in on a regular basis every four weeks giving them over $50 on a 3 pound puppy thanks but no thanks I will take my business somewhere well it's appreciated . read more

i would give less han a one star if i could. the groomer dropped my dog from a top crate onto a concrete floor and broke his femer. did not call me or let me know and kept grooming him with the leg just hanging and swinging as she washed and dried, i saw the film. they didnt even tell me when i picked him up walking on 3 legs. they said i brought him in there like that. this story goes on but my little shilo ended up dying from this trauma. the owner would not help me with the bill at all. shilo had to be operated on with a rod put in the thigh bone. quite expensive but he never recovered. the owner was not pleasant to me at all. read more

Absolutely atrocious. This is how I picked my goldendoodle up after a 2 hour "grooming appointment". Latessia was his groomer. I had taken a before picture (thankfully) and this was his after. He looks like a lion. There was NO blending, he came out with glitter stickers between his eyes, and the groomer acted as if he looked so good. I went home, and cried. I called back, expressing my concern, bc I am embarrassed to take him anywhere with this groom. I took him back, and Jess trimmed his hair and blended it to make it look better. Not to mention the fact that finding a groomer for a cat around here is next to impossible but finding one as talented as Kris is truly a blessing. dropped off our dog for grooming. Wife picked up when done. We paid $52 and left a $10 tip. Paid by credit card. They charged additional 3.5% on top for credit card surcharge. I called and spoke to owner and said it is ok to give discount for cash but not to charge for cc. Asked her to remove charge or I would dispute with cc company,She abruptly hung up on me. Awfull customer service will stop using along with wifes other 2 dogs and will talk it up to neighbors considering we live right by them. Our 13 year old calico long haired baby girl has been getting a grooming and shave every 2 to 3 months for a majority of her adult life. When she's due for a cut she acts depressed and after her grooming she is always so much happier and more content. The problem is that on the day of her appointment she gets so stressed out taking her to the groomer. And I know she hates being stuck there all day. I decided to give Washes and Wags a try. Well I'm so glad I did! Here are the pros: 1) right down the street from my house 2) calm environment with no loud scary noises. Lily usually cried and looked scared to death upon entering our former grooming salon but when we walked into W&W, she was calm and content. 3) 20 dollars less than my previous groomer 4) Chris did an amazing job. Lily got a close shave with a beautiful shaping of her feet, tail and head and still had all her whiskers (previous place shaved some whiskers off) 5) no strong perfumy smell that makes our other 2 cats unsure of who she is when she gets home... they use essential oils in their after spray so she smells fresh and clean rather than like old lady perfume; 6) and the best of all... it's a TWO HOUR appointment. Every groomer I have ever brought her to has required an early drop off and with an afternoon pickup. This place is a joke! My mother took our older dog here to get his monthly grooming and the lack of care and professionalism that showed blows my mind. Yes, our dog can be very skittish when it comes to strange people, even with this being his third time there. They request for my mother to not give him his medicine so she did. Unfortunately, after hours of having him, they called my mother and told her to come to get him. When she arrived she was greeted by the receptionist and our dog Scooter. Please see the picture below for how he came out looking. When she asked what could she do to fix this awful cut they gave the OWNER greeted her with "I do not know! He is a mean dog!." This not only was embarrassing, but very rude. A simple suggestion and compassion could have gone a long way in this situation. Instead, she told my mother to call the vet to have him put to sleep for a haircut. Our dog has gone to the groomers his whole life and has not ever had an issue like this! This makes me question them and how they treated him. And the vet when called to have to correct the mess they made was taken back this. We will never be returning here nor would we ever recommend them. Update: The owner is now texting my mother and threatening slander against her. You obviously can not leave a review or express how poor service they give. NO ONE in my family would ever wish harm on someone grooming a dog, but there would be a reason to stop and not to continue and leave him the way he was. This is the only groomer to have this issue. We tried this groomer from a recommendation from a friend. I am not as satisfied as I thought I would be. We typically take our Eskie to Petco, but thought with the recommendation and the prices we would give this place a try. Well, you get what you pay for. The groomer stated she has a dog similar to ours and she is familiar with how to groom them, but when my husband pointed out his mats, she said,"the good thing about them is the fur hides the mats." We have given 2 opportunities to win us over and they failed both times. They were 40% cheaper than Petco and gave about that much effort. read more

Truly horrible experience. Had an 11 o'clock appointment. Get in and the woman who I won't name had a weird attitude and vibe about her from the get go. She first commented that my dog was big when he is just a lot of hair he weighs exactly 21.2 pounds. If that's big I'd like to see what she thinks of a 90+pound dog. Next she barely touches my dog and says he has a bunch of mats and would need to be shaved down to a size 7 which is very short. He has a curly undercoat because his puppy hair is growing out but besides a couple mats I can easily get my hands through his coat because my husband and I brush this little lion every other day. She was very rude in handling my concern about not wanting to shave him. She was pushy and after I said I needed to speak to my husband about it she was like what are you going to do like I was wasting her time. Listen if you didnt want the job JUST SAY SO! I felt uncomfortable from the moment she unlocked the door after her first morning smoke break cause I'm sure it's very stressful. After I spoke to my husband and said we would do it she said the price would go up because he was so matted (lie) and after I said whatever he needs a haircut she told me she would call when he was done. No one informed me this was just a drop off. If that was the case I would have scheduled differently. Very disappointed after hearing nothing but amazing things from the place we got our dog and someone I know personally that I was treated with such an attitude. I would never return just on that alone. After my horrible experience I went to two other groomers in west ashley for a second and third opinion. Both of them said he had A COUPLE mats but nothing a better brush on our end couldn't fix. I let them know the situation of what just happened and they two different groomers both said clearly the person didnt want to do the work but he was fine and her "he is very matted" was either a way to get more money or because she didnt want to take on the job. I'd like to thank you for making me make an apt, get up and bring my dog in just to be treated less then deserved. I will not be recommending this place or atleast that stylist to anyone. Next time a different tone and actually checking the dog not just eyeballing will save a bad review and a loss of a client and future clients as well. Just relocated here and needed to find a groomer. Based upon on favorable reviews on Google and Yelp, I booked appointments online through their website. Glad I did. Kevin did an excellent job on all three of my small mixed breeds- they look great and most importantly they weren't stressed out. He was super nice to them and they took to him immediately. All three were bathed and groomed within 3.5 hrs so it was quick. Happy puppies and happy me. Oh and the price was reasonable too!! We will be going back to see Kevin again for sure. Not a great experience. Made apt for my new rescue to get all pampered and that didn't happen. Had an 11 o'clock apt, saw when I was in the day before no early drop offs so made sure we were 5 min early. The groomer came out and told me 1 hr to 1hr 1/2. Not a problem. I called at 12:42 to see if she was ready and was told another hour. Ok kind of annoyed but holidays, covid, understood. I went up there still not hearing from them and glad I did. At 1:45 I went to pick up my pup. The young girl went to check for me during this time the owner came in the side door with lunch for the staff. I knew it was the owner cause I have waited tables on her multiple times and she was so nice so why not give her a shot and support local. The same young man that told me the initial time for the apt came out to tell me that he hasn't gotten to my dog yet. Your kidding right? Nope he said sorry again, told him not to bother and get my dog for me. Pretty upset that my dog has probably been in a crate for 2 hrs 42 min. I did say to him that you did have time to take a smoke break though. He was out front when I arrived. As I was walking out he asked to come back and before he finished told him again to not bother we won't be back. Sad to me that the owner didn't come to defend her shop and keep paying costumers not to leave upset. That's what we do in the restaurant world and most places that are locally owned.
