Will never take my dog there again. My bernadoodle was simply shaved. There was no attempt to style his face at all. He didn't look like my dog at all nor did he act like his normal self. He was clearly traumatized. I should have known not to leave him when the woman who checked him complained to me about the last dog she had done and asked if he was going to be a problem. My dog is a very gentle natured sweet dog and I am so sad that I left him there. The edges of both his ears were bleeding and he kept licking his back paw as if it hurt him. read more

My fur kids have been coming here for years with minimal complaints. I have a very anxious poodle and a hyper shih tzu so the occasional knick has happened and I've let it go but today my poodle came home with a massive cut on his leg. That was bad enough, but the fact that they failed to tell me about it at the time of pick up has me most upset. We chatted for several minutes during checkout and not once was it brought up. My Pomeranian was a mess. Badly matted undercoat, big knots at the ears and belly. They were able to get him bathed and cut while leaving his tail bushy and I couldn't be happier. Although the picture looks like he's shaved, his coat is about the 1/2 inch I asked for. ( I know the difference. I brought our cocker spaniel here for a trim; I even brought pictures and described what we wanted. We keep her hair on the longer side because we like how fluffy she looks, and they cut pretty much all of her hair off. She has, or I should say HAD, the cocker spaniel "crown" and "mutton chops," and even those were shaved off. We like about 4-6 inches of length on her ribs and those were shaved down to about and inch too. I almost didn't recognize her when I went to pick her up. Even having been almost completely shaved, our cocker spaniel still has mats around her ears and under her arms. Not even taking into consideration our preferences on HOW her hair was cut, it is a fundamentally bad groom. It was also upsetting to see bags full of musty smelling rags in the lobby area and employees inside the building without a mask/smoking right next to the entrance. read more

Best groomer I've ever been to and we've been to a lot! Here's a before and after pic of just them bathing and brushing my dog out. Usually when we go to other groomers his brushed out curls don't stay brushed out after an hour, but his fur is still looking fabulous 6 hours later. A small local groomer brings me joy. I've only taken my dogs in for nail clippings, which is a walk in service. Prices recently went up to $9 per dog for nail clipping, which is still cheaper than a box store. My only complaint is that it always smells funky in the shop, but the groomers are always super nice and they recognize us. Within the same hour of calling- I was able to come in simply to have my cats nails trimmed. The workers here are kind, quick, and allowed me to come in without an appointment. The couple who are owners and groomers are excellent. I have a persian cat who I was taking to a place in Charleston where I live and paid A lot more money for a job that wasn't great. This man bathed her and groomed her and not a hair was uneven. The place itself isn't fancy but the work is good! recommend this location to my daughter because I heard nothing but great things about this company. When scheduling the appt, the receptionist was not friendly but she proceeded to make the appt! upon arrival, she stated the cut she wanted for her puppy and we were excited to pick her up when she was ready. 4 hours later, our baby Maltese was shaved, ears and tail not trimmed and an infected paw cause by a cut from the shears that were used to trim her paw hairs. This resulted to a trip to her vet and $200 extra for pain medicine and antibiotics. read more

We chose Adorable Pets because of the great reviews. We are new to the area and talking to a very nice person, I immediately wanted my Maltese Bichon and my mother in laws Japanese Chin to be groomed by them. After my husband gave explicate instructions and even showed a photo, my poor 16 year old boy was cut down to nothing. Not an ounce of what my boy usually looks like. And to top it off, he was not washed! And not groomed by the person we spoke to. We took him home and bathed him, noticing that his left ear had not even been cleaned. My mother in law was a groomer and was so upset about her Chin. She was still matted on her ears and her tail were way too long for everyday. I did call and talk to the groomer who worked? On my dog. I was told that they had noticed that my dog did not look totally clean. They offered to try again. But I am not willing to put my old guy through this again. I will go somewhere else where it's done right the first time. This is my first bad review that I have ever given to anyone. I have been sad to write this but sadder when I look at my pet. read more

Do not take your pets here. Staff has no idea what they are doing. They shaved my Australian Shepherd which should NEVER be done. Double coated dogs should NEVER BE SHAVED! Any groomer that knows what they are doing would know this. read more

After just moving to the area, I did a lot of research to find a groomer for maintenance, such as: nails, teeth, ears. I picked AP because they were so highly rated. Let me say, I never write reviews, but had to after my experience today. I was never greeted at the front and had to look for someone. When the woman who works there came up to the front, I stated my dog needed nails, teeth, and ear cleaning. The woman quickly stated that my dog did not need her nails clipped (they haven't been trimmed in months, and looked like talons) and they do not offer teeth cleaning. When I stated my dog's nails had not been trimmed in months, she said, "well I guess we can do it if you insist." I then asked if they did dental cleaning, and she stated "that is up to you and your vet, not us. It is your responsibility as a dog owner to clean her teeth daily". I felt that was rude, as I am a responsible dog owner, hence taking my dog in for maintenance??? After such push back from her, I stated that we could go elsewhere if she did not want or feel my dog needed services. She said, "no, we will do it, but I won't, your dog is way too hyper for me." Really? My dog is a 2 year old, and yes... dog grooming places make her hyper... smells, new place, etc. She got a man to do her grooming, which BLESS HIM, he is the only reason I stayed. Such a kind man and nice to my furbaby. However, he began to try to clip her nails in the entrance? Did not take her back? Bizarre. I am unsure of why I received such negativity and pushback for simple maintenance services. As I was waiting, I called another groomer in the area to ask if they did teeth cleaning, and low and behold... the woman came out and started talking to me politely. I will note as well, that the ear cleaning done on my dog was awful. She has not stopped shaking her ears (and cleaner flies out)... I will never go here again. I will tell everyone in the area about the poor customer service. I absolutely care about excellent quality when it comes to my furbaby, but good customer service goes a LONG way too... read more

Worst place ever. Took my sister's two Maltese dogs and they shaved one of their ears because he said it was too matted. That is what a brush is for. They should have at least called before doing it. The other dog's hair is cut very uneven. Will never refer anyone to this place. read more
