With its old mill buildings and depressed-but-still-trying downtown shopping area, little Maynard was once on the brink of wild prosperity during the 1980s when computer manufacturer Digital Equipment Corporation was pouring jobs and cash into the area like a high-tech fire hose. But sales of the company's profitable mainframes dwindled after it failed to successfully transition to personal computers, and it quietly expired in the late 1990s. You won't find them on Twitter or Facebook: Shorette's is a small garage right out of the 1960s, with prices to match. The dimly-lit "customer waiting area" is crammed with dust-covered displays of fan belts, replacement gas caps, and carburetor gasket kits. The owner/operator and his elderly father have run the place for ages, and there is an archetypal "back room" behind the counter where they hang out and play cards or do whatever old time garage guys do. I paid what I consider pre-War prices for a brake job, and business was brisk when I stopped by. Apparently word has gotten around that you can still get this kind of "No BS - done right the first time" service if you're willing to go out to Maynard for it.

Recently had to take our car into Boch Honda in Westford for the third recall issue on our CRV. The most recent time, they said my rear struts needed to be replaced and we needed a realignment. They were going to charge us 1500 dollars. I politely declined and brought the car to Miller Brothers Garage. They got me in quickly, drove me and my son to and from the garage, and did the work in little time. I paid 650, not 1500. The car immediately drove better. The steering was no longer stiff and the ride felt smoother. These guys are very nice, honest, and work is fairly-priced. We have found the place to get our car serviced in the future. I highly recommend you try them- stopped being ripped off by the dealership.

I was over my miles a little bit and went into Elmwood to see what my options were. The only options that they had were at a payment higher than I could afford with at least $5,000 down. Feeling discouraged, I explored other options and that is when I was contacted by someone at Grieco. After explaining my situation, I was asked to come in and see if they could do anything for me just to help get me out of my current lease. After stopping into Grieco one night, I was approached by Joe DonFrancesco who talked with me for a little bit to get some information from me about the current status of my lease and what I was hoping to get out of it. Joe just wanted to understand all points of view and he got his manager Steve Mello involved. Between the two of them, they treated me with respect and made me feel comfortable and at ease with them being that it was my first time in their dealership. Steve and Joe were able to find me a 2018 Charger Indigo Blue, which was the color I wanted with my previous Charger but they didn't have any available at the time and this was the only 1 in New England so I kind of lucked out. Steve and Joe kept working and grinding the numbers for me to get me to a payment that I believe I could afford and with only putting down a little bit of money which I can understand and was happy to do in order to get the car that I truly wanted. All in all, Joe and Steve were great throughout the entire process. Even after Joe and Steve did their job, the gentleman that I did my paperwork with, Anthony, was exceptional as well and had everything ready for me to sign so I could take my wife out to a nice dinner in my beautiful new car! The entire process took 2 days.
