Planned to launder it myself- however there were 2 lovely ladies there that took it for me. The place was very clean, safe and They were extremely helpful and said it would be all done in a couple hours. Wow! I wasn't expecting that. Came back in a couple hrs and she said she bleached both as requested & spot treated both items, washed them separately and dried the rug extra. She packaged up the bedspread and away I went. We had some large blankets we had to get washed since they wouldn't fit in the washing machine at home. We found this place to be easy and their large industrial washers did the trick. The only thing that was bad was that the dryer wouldn't stay shut with one of our rugs but not a problem. It was able to be hung up at home. read more

I always used to avoid this Wash World because of the terrible neighborhood and the unsavory characters. I tried it again as the neighborhood is slowly rejuvenating with better development and improved housing. The staff were fantastic the service was as promised and my laundry smells great and is clean. I really loved their packaging and how they shrink wrapped the laundry. To me, that's perfect for my travels. I wish they could clean the place up a bit, maybe modernize it, and kick out some of the crazies that hang out in the parking lot, but the service was otherwise excellent. read more

Look - I generally hate the laundromat experience (waiting for machines, juggling quarters, never finding the machines you need near each other)...but recently I had an amount of laundry to do that was just going to take my entire weekend to complete if I tried to do it at home in my small apartment sized washer. So, I loaded it up to take it to the laundromat. I still hate laundromats, BUT this one was as good as I've ever experienced for sure. Pros: +variety of washing machines and dryers, relatively affordable +rolling carts that make it easy to bring your stuff in from your car and port it around the laundromat +machines take cards/there's a loyalty card thing that gets you a modest bonus Cons: -It remains annoying to find the machines you need near each other, so you wind up walking back and forth checking on them and worrying that you'll lose track of your stuff -The pricing is a little confusing for a first timer, and as a result I wound up putting more money than I needed to on my card. -You bring your own detergent and I honestly had no idea how much to use in the different sized washers. The staff were just like "Well, most people use this amount..." All in all, if you need a laundromat, this one is fine. read more

We are temporarily without a washer and dryer so off to the laundromat we go. I was REALLY dreading this, especially at this location. When I pulled up, the parking lot was pretty full so I was dreading having to wait around and wash dirty underwear. To my surprise, there were plenty of open machines. I grabbed the first five as I walked in the door. I pretended to know how to use these machines but in all reality, I was fumbling as I was reading the directions. Turns out, I was using the double load extractors...fancy. $2 for a wash and 19 minutes later, you've got clean undies! The dryer sitch was pretty awesome. They have two ginormous dryers that could fit 5 people comfortably. I threw all my loads into one and 20 minutes later, I was on my way home with clean and FOLDED laundry (I never fold at home but felt peer pressured since everyone else was doing it). They have free wifi, vending machines, TV and clean bathrooms. Not too shabby for a laundromat! read more

I have been to laundrymats over all the world. I really like this one. First and foremost, you can use your card to pay for washer and dryer. They were running a special when we arrived, if you preload a wash card (much like a starbucks card), they will put additional funds on for you. Example, I front loaded $10 onto the swipey card and was awarded $15.00. They also gave me a free $2.00 wash for signing up for the swipey/reward card. Not sure if I was clear, there are three ways to pay for the machines. Cash, your credit card and the Wash World card. There were two attendants on site around 11:30am on a Sunday. The place was pretty packed but there was not waiting for a machine. There is free fresh coffee and plenty of seating. A couple of pay arcade games for the kids, televisions, free wifi, vending machines with drinks, snacks and laundy supplies. $2.00 for a wash and $0.25 per 6 minutes in the dryer. Not a bad deal when you have comforters and other big items that won't fit into the machine at home. I would come back here again. read more

Wow! This place was a great find! The GPS takes you to an empty lot but turn the corner TA the top of the hill for washing heaven! Machines take credit cards and there is a handy change machine too. Big wash was $2.50 a load and the jumbo heavy duty machine handled my California king comforter. Dryers are 25 cents for 5 minutes. Clean and free wi-fi. read more

2018 Wash World at St Marys Ave is Worlds better than say 2001 same location. This place used to be pretty dumpy looking inside with some real characters hanging around. And the neighborhood was 100% low income criminally WILD outside. For many blocks. I should know, I did a lot of living in that area past 30 years. Now it's 2018 when this review posted. The neighborhood (approx half mile each direction) is now only about 60% low income and 40% urban renewal development. Amazing difference, much better now. As for inside this Wash World? My 3 visits in one week showed me a patronage of mostly Latin and African American. By far mostly Latin. Many of the staff are bi-lingual if you have only Spanish speaking friends looking for a good laundry mat. As part of the area renewal I'm certain, this Wash World has been fully remodeled, with more, bigger machines. Wash World machines now accept credit cards. So if your elderly or constrained by time or physical issues, then it's no more pumping a BAZILLION quarters into different machines! The 1st credit card swipe on a machine (and only the 1st swipe) will incur a $25 hold for 3 days on your account. But ultimately will only charge what you washed after the hold period ends. The 5 staff members I encountered in the 3 times I visited were very easy to talk to and very approachable. 2 visits were just scoping things out for a less busy time to wash, 3rd was washing, all in the same week. I'm told mid week is very busy due to discount washing. My apt has a washer/dryer rental in my rent. So I wash mainly bulky or bedding items at a laundry mat. I love that the St Marys Ave Wash World has FOUR GIANT washers for my mainly heavier washing. Every Wash World I've ever been to, there could be only one car in their parking lot. And the 1 or 2 giant washers they'd have? Would always be in use. I waited every time. And always someone waiting behind myself. Like a stupid golf course, lol. All in all though, St Marys Wash World is a great washing location. I will be using it again. read more

Great place! Updated modern machines of all sizes and they're always working. Clean and bright. There's always working change dispensers. The only thing that could possibly make it more convenient, for me at least, is to be open 24/7, but even so the hours are pretty convenient. Yes, there are kids here sometimes, but that means its in a family neighborhood (mostly Latino, a plus=]). I totally feel comfortable leaving my laundry to run errands and come back and have never had a problem with theft. And the coffee is always fresh! read more

Amazing laundresses! When I dropped off a load of laundry, I left an angel pin in my jeans pocket. They not only noticed it, but returned it in a plastic baggie for me. That is attention to detail. Drop-off is reasonable (about $1.45 a pound, 12 pound minimum) and I've always been happy with the condition of my clothes on return.
