Was an employee there for a small amount of time. Told the owner my boyfriend's son was coming to visit and I needed time off. She agreed. Still scheduled me. I had planned to work around it the best I could. The owner scheduled me to work at 4pm. I was watching a child four years old!! She wanted me to bring him to wash n Winnie's in Manteno and work until my boyfriend could pick him up. I said no, she then informed me that it was a family friendly environment. I informed her that he was not my child and I was not comfortable bringing him to a bar!!! She told me that the situation was completely ridiculous that she was offering a solution and I was not taking her solution. I then informed her again that I had requested the time off and that I had asked to be off she agreed!! So needless to say I quit that day. I just felt that the bickering was useless and very unnecessary. So Friday July 15th 2016, all employees were paid. I sent her a text asking if there had been a mistake as to why I had not received a check. She informed me that she would write one to me Monday. Monday morning I sent her a text about 9:am asking when I could come get my check, she informed me she was not in the office and that I would have it by the end of the business day. I informed her that all other employees were paid on Friday. She said that because I had not turned in my time that was why there was a delay. I told her that if there had been a problem she should have told me before payday. She then said you have my answer. I told her once again that if she needed any further information she should have let me know and that I needed my check as I had worked for it. And it should have been ready friday. She told me to stop texting her. Then I once again explained the situation mind you I was calm and did not say anything derogatory. She told me that Winnie's was not my concern as I was not Winnie's problem. I told her I didn't care about Winnie's I cared about getting the money I had worked for. She then told me to stop texting her and to shut the fuck up. I was then told to get cash at Winnie's. I was respectful during our entire conversation and do not believe I was out of line. Due to situations me working there did not work out but, there is no reason to be rude to someone. I just wanted to share my experience. I will never be a customer there nor will I recommend this place to anyone. All employees are great but management is absolutely ridiculous. read more
