Pretty good Sushi at a great price. The chefs are very friendly and its a great atmosphere.

I haven't explored any other sushi places in Fargo, because this place got it right the first time! I've been back well over 20 times since I first discovered this gem. I came here years ago on my first date with my husband, so the place does have sentimental value to me...but the food really speaks for itself. The sushi is perfect every time, visually as well as with the ballance of flavors. The complimentary miso soup is a delicious bonus, as well. The atmosphere is very cool and intimate, even when it's busy. I've never had a bad experience with the service, either! There's something for everyone at Wasabi. My son especially loves the sweet potato roll. I also recommend the tempura...the batter is perfectly light and crispy. It's very authentic. I think I've tried everything on the menu and liked (or loved) it all. I think it would be fun to see some different specials or deals so I have an excuse to come back more often! This place is pretty good for sushi in Fargo. Went here and had the yummy roll, dragon roll and the 911 roll. Also the steamed dumplings and edamame. It was a pleasant suprise and I recommend this place. read more

So it took 25 minutes to get two rolls of maki they didn't look at the second side of my order slip, so I didn't get my nigiri, I ordered a small Sapporo that never came, and some random guy at the sushi bar had to flag down a waitress to refill the waters of everyone at the bar because no one had water for at least 10 minutes. The bright side: the sushi was good. The bad: awful service, very small selection of nigiri. But quality definitely means more than quantity for sushi. read more

I've been to wasabi several times since moving to Fargo and it is the best sushi in town. It's not the best sushi i've ever had, but for Fargo hey i'll continue to go there. The atmosphere is cool and the service is always good. Keep it up. Down with Kobe's, ick!! read more

Really good sushi for being about as far from the ocean as one can get.. Tried the spider roll, Philadelphia roll and albacore nigiri! All very tasty, fresh and the staff was friendly. Will come back again for sure next time I am in Fargo. read more

This is actually pretty good for fargo..i thought that it was a little expensive. But then again there isn't a huge market for that up here. I had spicy tuna roll and the red Dragon roll both very good. read more

The crunch munch was SOO good. Everyone at my table was jealous. But everything we ordered was good. The service was really slow, we ended up not getting drinks because it took so long for them to come to our table. The staff was friendly enough, just slow. Agree with Brad B. Wasabi is pretty comparable to other middle-of-the-road sushi restaurants in larger cities in terms of price, selection and quality. This is a rare thing here. The diner at Wasabi is greeted with a bowl of miso soup and a menu that includes nigirizushi such as white tuna, scallops and surf clams. If I remember right, the prices for the nigirizushi, were about $4 to $6 a pair. Pretty fair I think for a place as far from the sea. My friend had two of the rolls, one of them the wonderful Alaska roll, and the serving was generous enough she needed my help finishing them. Plating was pretty well done as well so the whole thing looked rather attractive. Just a slight criticism: The rice seemed a bit dry and not very tangy, like the chef didn't use enough vinegar. read more

Great lunch- I had the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box and my husband had the Small Boat. Fresh chicken spring roll was a great appetizer (pretty large for a spring roll). Everything was very fresh. Miso soup was great-not too salty. Service was friendly-did take a little longer than a normal lunch but that is to be expected when they make the sushi to order. Cool atmosphere also. I have traveled the world and have eaten sushi in Tokyo, Okinawa, Hawaii, Cali, and the East coast. Love this place! The sushi chef is from Hawaii. He made me Ahi poke on one of my visits. Soooo good!! Felt like chilling in Hanalei. I suggest the seared tuna nigiri. read more

Go with the 911 roll! I was skeptical of sushi since my bad experience with cheaper places. But this has totally changed my mind(and friends) about the whole aspect of sushi. It has a lot of flavor and crunch, not mushy as people first think of sushi. The miso soup is great too, not too salty as other places serve it. Located behind drunken noodle. The service was friendly but not overbearing. The music was ambient electronic but not overpowering, it sets a really chill mood for enjoying some good sushi in a comfortable environment. Dress casual. I've been to Wasabi 3 times now and I'll never go back. 3rd strike and you're out. Every time I go in that place I have to wait over an hour to get sushi. Even when I order ahead of time or get a pick up order. There is no organization and it seems that neither the chefs nor the waiting staff know what is going on. My last visit took 15 minutes just to receive our waters. My boyfriend and I both were delivered the wrong drink orders (as well as the table next to us we overheard), our waitor came back to take our food order because he forgot that he had taken it 15 minutes earlier which meant our food order had not even been entered in yet! After waiting an hour without receiving 2 sushi rolls we had other places to be and had to leave hungry. After all that the waitor still made us pay for our screwed up drink orders! Wow. We'll never go back and tell all of our friends to do the same! read more

Trash sushi. Same quality as grocery store sushi. No answer from staff or management on what type of oysters were in house. No answer from wait staff or management on what fish was fresh and good. Went there with my husband. Took 15 min. to get seated then another 15 to place an order then about an hour after ordering we finally received our sushi. The spicy sushi was not spicy. The booth next to ours were being loud and having inappropriate conversation in front of families the older gentleman from another table finally told them to keep it down I guess if you have a couple of beers and put your beer goggles on you'll like it. read more

Sushi is great, but the service is awful. I was here many years ago & avoided coming back until now after it took 2 hours to eat due to the slow service. This time service was slightly faster, but still unbelievably slow. The waitress was kind & friendly & running around in a hurry, but there were 3 other staff just standing around. Previously I have recommended Wasabi as having the best sushi in Fargo, it may still have the best but I wouldn't know since we waited one hour for our food and we never received it. Terrible service has now ruined my favorite sushi restaurant. The restaurant was busy but not full. It is located downtown and should understand the need to accomodate lunch hour business. Very disappointed. We will now have to find a new Sushi restaurant as they have lost my business. read more

Best sushi in Fargo! The wait staff has always been friendly and attentive. It has never been overly crowded in the restaurant.

After calling in my order at 6:15pm and being told 15 minutes, I arrived at 6:40 to find out 5 minutes after I arrived that it would be another 20 minutes. The excuse: at 6;15 the restaurant be full. Give me a break! The service here is awful, but the food does counter some of the awful service. I'm giving up on this place after last night. I don't understand how the service could be that bad! I could go on and on but be warned of the SLOW SERVICE! read more

I'm not a big sushi fan but I met up there with some friends tonight with my woman friend. I have a mixed below average review to give you. The waitress was much faster at the beginning but got worse the longer we waited. She brought us water then ordered beer. When finishing my 1st beer the waitress obnoxiously came up and asked "Another PBR!?!" After the 2nd one I said no since she was rude. Got some weird soup after 30 minutes that resembled sewer water. Waited roughly 1 hour for our food. I ordered Cajun pasta with chicken added but no tomatoes. When it came out noodles were drowning in sauce. And I had to pick out 2 pieces of tomatoes. Of course there was no apology for the wait or the tomatoes. Maybe it was that time of the month for the waitress but it made me feel like I didn't matter. 35 dollars for 3 pbrs and 2 meals is one thing , but the rude waitress was another. Didn't get her name but she was tall and kinda slim resembling olive oil from the cartoon Popeye the sailor man. If you have a few hours of your time and can put up with the rude staff go ahead, but even if I was a sushi fan I would find some place else to eat. read more

Came in as a group of four around 7 p.m. on a Friday night. Our waitress was less than friendly and we waited over an hour for our order without being checked on or notified it would be awhile. It's understandable that sometimes things take awhile but usually it's advised by managers to keep customers in the know. Asked waitress after an hour of waiting and she just sort of sluffed it off. Sushi was average. Osaka is still my first choice in Fargo for taste, service, and atmosphere. read more
