Went on a Saturday night. No wait. Clean. Everyone was pleasant. The music, colors, lights, decor were all family friendly and fun. There aren't any kiosks at each lane like they have at bigger facilities; they program your name in for you at check in. They have plenty of items to choose from for alcoholic beverages and non alcoholic beverages and food too. Pricing was reasonable too. We will definitely be going back. read more

I visited a couple weeks back with my children, and I soon found out that the staff was very rude. Especially the lady at the front( I think it is the owner). When my children got back in the car, they said "the workers are very rude." and that was unsolicited. Lastly I get it that it is hard to make a living, but this damn place is too damn expensive. I think this place rules! Fun games with the tickets to win! Think Skee Ball, and that one you throw balls at that crazy clown that taunts you! Claw games too, and lucky for me, my dad might be the great claw game master of all time, so I learned a few things over the years from him! Bowling lanes are nice and have fun digital videos on the scoreboard between every throw! It keeps the game light hearted and fun! Full bar and lots of bar food to keep those dirty bowling hands grabbing and munching on stuff! Staff was super nice and the place is super clean! I'm no Pin King, but this place makes me sing... My family and I met up with friends and their kids here today and I must say that this was the first and will be the last time we ever come here. I don't even know where to begin with the cons of this place. We were seriously disappointed. Pro: Clean and bright with a mini arcade Cons: (notice the plurality) -RUDE front cashier boy I walked up to pay to add two more players to our lane that our friends already paid for and this is how the worker spoke to me... Me: "Hi, can we add two more players to lane #_?" Boy: (with attitude) "only if you pay for it." I did not think that I would be greeted with such an attitude. I have to approach you to add more players. People must pay to add more players. I come to you to do said action and I'm greeted with that? If my friends had not already paid for the lane we would've left. -FOOD was not that great. Fries were under-cooked when asked for well-done. And they charged for WATER in a cup. Not bottled water. Just water that everyone else gives to you for free. The overall experience was not great. I would prefer going to one of the older places in Des Moines rather than this place. At least the service is better and they don't charge for water. They do give military discount for games though. I guess that's a plus. Thank you for doing that at least. read more

I love warrior lanes. I love the people, I love the variety, I love the feel of the place. It's clean, friendly, versatile, and great for any occasion. They have a nice arcade, and they take the time to rotate out the games now and then so as to have something new to see! They have a really great selection of prizes available! They recently switched over to the card game playing vs. token, which is super for storing points! I enjoy that they are attempting to social distance when at all possible, offer specific masked bowling times, and also doing their part to keep cleaning and sanitizing the lanes. I'm usually always satisfied with the food, and any time Ive ever had a question or a comment about food or anything, it's always been addressed right away. I feel their prices have always been fair. The lanes are well maintained as well as the furniture, restrooms and interior itself. They do take the time to clean their carpets routinely and the signage and everything is fresh and looks maintained. Ive bowled here on league, and I've bowled for events and for just bored fun! It's always great. I haven't noticed any more snags with the lanes here than I have with any other bowling establishment. Now - to all the folks who have left less than stellar remarks. I've read them, and having frequented this establishment many many times over the last 5 years I will say this - If this was your first time there, I'm sorry if you or someone you spoke to was having a bad day - that sucks. But if you're going to take the 5 minutes to write a bad review, you could have taken the 5 minutes to address it right then and there with the management. Visited Warrior Lanes for a work outing, which seems pretty common here. Our company paid for shoes and 2 hours of bowling, drinks and snacks not included. I've been to most alleys in mid-Iowa throughout my time in leagues. Warrior Lanes was bright, clean, and just what you'd expect. It was great for an outing. I will mention that the ball return was incredibly slow, which cut into our bowling time pretty heavily. The balls would come back very oily too, so by the time our 5 minute timer popped up, the balls were sliding out of our hands. The shoes were also really slick on the hard floors. None of us fell, but we almost did a few times. The OS at each lane was great, and allowed us to make changes to players and log corrected scores without having to ask for help. At one point, our lane got stuck and we had to ask for it to be reset because the Service buttons were disabled, but that wasn't a big deal. I'd say it was a fine time for a mid-afternoon outing. read more

This is the second time I have been out here to bowl This time we were here for an after work function and the company had called ahead for lanes and time. We paid $5 for shoes and two hours of bowling. The bonus was a drink ticket for whatever drink we wanted. Pop or adult beverages were covered with this one ticket. I was able to help myself to a drink and then get ready to bowl. The establishment is clean and there are lots of ball options. From where we were bowling was a game room and I was really tempted to go try the giant Candy Crush game. We got in our couple games. The only thing we didn't get a big kick out of was as we closed in on the end of our game a timer showed up. I guess we only had exactly two hours to play. We were good spirited and we added a rush to the game and called the last couple frames as speed bowling. My friend also got the sampler. It was cheese balls, fried pickles and moz sticks. The fried pickles were the spears and were pretty good. read more

This family-owned bowling alley is a hidden gem with so much to offer! A small bowling alley with 16 lanes and a couple party rooms! We had my son's birthday party there and everything was perfect! The owners are taking extra steps to sanitize and clean since COVID! Prices are super reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful! We will be back! read more

The lanes are clean, and they have many events throughout the year that are unique and make a nice change from normal bowling. They have a large selection of ball weights and sizes, and many fun arcade games for those who don't want to bowl. The food is excellent, and served quickly. I normally don't like to write review for places like this. However, I do want to let the owner know charging people 25cent for a glass of water with a straw is ridiculous. It's not about the money because .25 cent can't buy anything, and it won't make you rich either. It's a nice touch to be able to get water for free, since I've never been to a place that charge me for water in a glass.. Not in a plastic cup with cover and a straw. Well lit and clean. Nice and helpful staff. Stopped by with a couple of my kids for a game and was greeted with a smile. We got a lane and proceeded with our game. I like the graphics on the score board. The place was not very busy the night we were in and the atmosphere was laid back. There is food available and an arcade. I like coming to this place to bowl on weekends. This place has plenty of lanes, an arcade, kitchen, and a bar. While I do enjoy the bowling and their fries are tasty also, I find their bar to be a bit expensive. I ordered a blue moon pitcher that turned out to be $14. And I have ordered their domestic pitchers before also in the $10 range. I'm used to paying $8-10 for pitchers, not $10-15. But in any case, other than the expensive drinks, I think everything else is good. I would say this is a great place for a family to come, or some friends. read more

Always busy! Call ahead to put yourself on a waiting list or else you'll have to sit on the side and wait for an open lane - a tricky feat if you've got a couple of squirmy kids with you. There's an arcade to pass the time, and food and drinks available. Everything is clean, and the staff is happy to fix any problems that arise with shoes or the lanes. This alley is also a participant in a program that lets kids bowl free if you sign up for free on an app! Nice. read more

So I am going to vent for a minute. My kids wanted to go bowling today. This is not the first time, as we went 2 weeks ago. They need bumpers to bowl, and we just tested this the last time we went bowling. So today I go in to pay for 2 games for each, 3 sets of bowling shoes, and food. Basically about $60 worth of fun for an hour and a half. I request bumpers and the manager asks me how old my daughter is. I state again we need bumpers, and in raised voice with attitude, he says to me "I asked you how old is your daughter?". He then proceeds to want to run her through their protocol to see if bumpers would be allowed. So basically at this point I am not getting bumpers, and he is letting business (where one lane was occupied) walk out due to pride. As most of you that know me, I let him know that by him being a dick he was not getting my business. He then runs to the owner, who then tells me that she does not want my business since I called him a name. So much for letting the customer have what they pay for, and for having a condescending owner and manager with thin skin dictate the view of bowling for three (2 young & 1 old) kids for years to come. #hownottorunabusiness101 Well in order to save me time since apparently we are both busy, here is my response to your rebuttal. Round 2 Your memory of the events are way different than what actually happened. But then again you chose to hide in the back acting busy and not bother to resolve, train, or monitor the situation...new employee or not. Trust me when I say they happily let us use bumpers at Val Lanes and they loved, and will continue to love my business & money. Very disappointed with the way they handled themselves tonight! I took my family there for glow bowling and was screwed on our lane time. We purchased a lane for one hour and after the first game, we were told that it was only rang in for 1 game. I politely accepted that and purchased another hour on the lane. Well....after 1 game, shut off again!! We tried to talk to the front desk but they were zero help, even after showing our purchases. Never wasting our time our money their again. The woman behind the counter was snooty and impolite. I said my shoes were sticky and she decided that'd be the best time to tell me how to properly bowl as a 35 year old. Lame. All the balls are new, as is the over the top score keeping system that plays numerous clips of hockey players rejoicing when you get a spare or a rock climber when you get a strike or whatever other useless animations play while you roll a ball down a lane that has been dented and punished from years and years of mediocre bowlers frequenting this establishment. I long for the bowling alley with a simple look, balls that aren't all the same color (unless they're black with names like Bob and Ann on them and those rubber finger hole things) and a more polite staff. We can't say enough good things about our experiences at Warrior Lanes. We had our son's 4th Birthday Party here recently, and the price was competitive, but the service provided to us from bowling, drinks, food, and the party room was just perfect! There was a minor problem with their outside caterer, but Warrior Lanes handled it exceptionally. This is one of the few establishments left that always puts the customer first, and is 100% a values-based organization. They take their responsibility and reputation seriously, and it shows. We look forward to visiting Warrior Lanes again very soon! Our kids love this place! read more

My best place for bowling in west des moines area. Friendly staff. They recognize me for being regular. Food is good. beer is kinda pricey. Overall good place to enjoy Saturday evenings/nights. As far as now I never saw too much crowd in here. So kind of more privacy. read more

Just had a Birthday party for my 12 year old daughter at Warrior Lanes. It was a great time. Everything was so clean, staff was awesome and courteous. I had an awful experience at this bowling center. The lady behind the desk seemed very rude. I ordered food from a college aged boy, it was brought out and it was undercooked. While bowling this same college aged boy and a girl were being inappropriate behind the main counter. I also asked for a glass of water and was charged 25 cents for it. I thought this was a little ridiculous! They already overcharged me for the food, why would they need to change even more for water when no other place does. I will not be returning to this center. There are plenty of other options in the area that are better in many ways. read more

Nice lanes, relatively clean. However, they charge $0.25 for a glass of water. Never in my life have I been charged for a glass of ice water. Will not be going back, staff was very rude when I confronted them about the poor business practice of charging for water. read more
