CrossFit Catonsville is very close to home, they have a great class schedule (especially for a smaller gym), and kickboxing and yoga are included in their membership! Chris, the owner and head coach, is awesome; I find that his style of coaching is very focused on technique and he has lots of suggestions on how to scale WODs with the goal of getting stronger, not just finishing a workout. I've already PR'd on several lifts in the past month at CFC. Eric and Susan are also fantastic coaches, and I've really benefitted from some of the pointers and suggestions they have made. As anyone who does CrossFit will tell you, the community aspect is what keeps folks coming back for more. The people here are AMAZING and friendly, and I have felt so welcome from the beginning. This is a great box for people who have been doing CrossFit for a while, and an excellent box for beginners. I called on July 15 to discuss my family's in-progress move and was only able to schedule an appointment for July 23. During our meeting, I wanted to cancel the contract, but he said I must keep making payments until August, even though an extra fee was charged to my account right after signing. We're moving away, making it impractical to attend classes, yet they insist my child participate in a promotion ceremony on August 23 and that I can only withdraw after that. It's frustrating because my child isn't receiving proper instruction; although we have videos proving he isn't engaged, the instructor claims otherwise. This program seems more focused on profits than education, and I'm left confused about how to end this situation, especially with concerns about potential charges for August, September, and the mystery additional charge already taken.

For those of you who are intimidated about going to a gym, I would recommend this place. The gym is never that busy and there's people from all different fitness stages that are here. The staff is friendly and so are the other gym goers. People here will gladly help you out if you ask. This location has just about everything that you need from cardio machines, free weights, and stationary equipment . I kind of wish the area with free weights was a little bigger so you don't feel like you're on top of each other but it's not that big of a deal. There are cubbies and unisex bathrooms and individual shower rooms. I believe the staff leaves around 5 but as long as you have a key fob, you can go get them gains 24/7!
