We stayed at Indian Springs as we wanted to do a couple things in Jackson (about 10-15 mins away)…read more Pros: -the park is beautiful! -Several trails to hike and an old cemetary to explore. -The spring -Visitor Center is a beautiful old building. Staff was very pleasant. -Camp hosts keep the place so clean and neat -Bathrooms were amazing! 2 stalls (one regular and one handicap) and 2 showers (one regular and one handicap). These were spotless. -Really neat kids playground in the new section Cons: -The road in is windy and VERY narrow. -New section: The sites are spacious but man... Not sure who designed it. All the pull thrus had slopes. We actually disconnected the Jeep and backed into our pull thru site as we may have bottomed out trying to actually pull in forward. The spot where the patio is was level and long enough for our 40' bus, but the jeep was on a slant when parked either in front or behind the coach. We saw this in most of the sites. I think if we stayed in the new section again, we'd chose one of the back in sites. -Hook ups were near the front of the site. Good thing we have long hoses! We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Pretty grounds. Got out and walked to the running creek. Drove through a pretty patch of fall…read morecolored trees and walked through a couple stone structures although I don't know what they were originally used as. Would have liked to taste the natural spring water from the pump but there was a line of jugs waiting to be filled although there is a sign stating only a couple gallons per person. This obviously isn't regulated and a couple women were filling numerous gallons and still filling up even when we were walking back to our car.

We came here February 2nd, 2026 to find out if General Beauregard Lee would see his shadow!…read moreThe park is not normally open on Mondays, but this was a special occasion. In fact, this was their 45th year celebrating Groundhog Day. The gates opened a little prior to 6am and there was plenty of parking. The restrooms were right next to the parking lot and not only were they clean...they were HEATED, which was so wonderful since it was about 25 degrees outside. It was a short walk to the festivities, less than a half mile, but it was through the woods (VERY CLEARLY marked!) and over some wooden boardwalks (not sure how handicap accessible this is but it was an easy walk for this out of shape girl.) Everything was well maintained and looked beautiful even in the dark. We were able to see a bald eagle and another hawk close to the groundhog enclosure. If it would have been a bit warmer (the pond was frozen over!) I would have loved to stay and see more of the animals. Especially the otters. This girl LOVES otters. There was quite a bit of merchandise available: stuffed groundhogs, bracelets, a variety of buttons, several different tee shirts, and magnets. We bought a few items and entered the raffle to win a gift bag that included the original copy of last years proclamation. It was a really cold wait for the 7:31 proclamation time, although the park did pass out hand warmers. I think we could have waited a bit longer but since this was our first time, we had no idea how big of a crowd to expect. I would guess that there were 100-150 people. Being so early, we were right up front but I think we would have been about to see if we had gotten there a bit later. All of the employees (volunteers?) were very nice and helpful. We met many people who do this annually and there were even news crews here. It was very fun and definitely worth attending. We will definitely be returning but only when it is absolutely warmer! Ps. He saw his shadow!

Peaceful just walking around the whole park.... Need more movable animals, more lively.... But park…read morerules... Great place to work out!

Don't waste your time coming here to play pickleball; and I mean that literally, because you will…read morewaste your time. I came in this morning, signed in properly, and placed my paddle on game 11. They were on game 8. I waited 45 minutes like everyone else is supposed to, following the system that THEY set up. When game 11 was finally called, I walked up to find that one of the front desk attendants had physically removed my paddle from the rotation and set it off to the side -- completely away from all the other games, no explanation, no heads up, nothing. When I asked him what happened, he looked me dead in the face and lied. Told me he had "stood up and waved my paddle around" to call for me earlier and that I must have been playing in game 8 or 9. I was not. I had been sitting and waiting the entire time. Not only did he move my paddle without telling a single person, he then fabricated a story on the spot to cover it up rather than just owning a simple mistake. When I told him it was completely unacceptable to remove someone's paddle from the pool without notifying them, let alone lie about it, he talked to me disrespectfully and shrugged his shoulders like my 45 minutes of wasted time meant absolutely nothing to him. Zero accountability. Zero professionalism. Zero apology. I picked up my paddle and left, and I won't be back. If this is how staff treat paying members who follow the rules, this place has a serious problem. Train your staff better; or at the very minimum, hire people who won't lie to your customers' faces when they make a mistake.

The size of the park was surprising, in that it did stretch on and on, so you'll get your steps in! Fields are the name of the game here. All sorts of multi-purpose fields for football, soccer, etc are all over the park. Sadly when I went, they were all closed for repair so I was unable to explore them. This is a dog friendly park, however like another reviewer mentioned, there was dog poop littering many of the side walks. It's not the dog's fault so please clean up after your pup! There is a little trail called the heart healthy path where you can walk on and walk through wooded areas. It's really serene and pretty, AND each completion of the trail nets you 0.25 mi, so going 8 times around coul work. Parking here is absolutely no problem as there are lots for days. There's also a nice children's play area for the kids and I saw a few bicycle riders on my visit. Basically there's a lot you can get done here. Best park i've Ever visited? Nah, but if you live close and like getting some fresh air, I bet you'll find yourself here from time to time!
