Instead of them working with you to execute…read moreyour wishes, they will go behind your back and not make the changes that you request to your estate if they don't agree with your wishes. My mom wanted to allow my sister who was her primary caregiver for over 10 years the ability and right to stay and live in the home for two years after my mom's passing. When she requested that the lawyer make that change, he told her, "usually six months is enough time, we never see that type of request". As a result, he did not make the change to the will and trust. When I spoke with the attorney about this, he said the same thing to me restating, "six months time is more than enough for a sibling to be able to stay at the house prior to selling it". Furthermore, you'll find it extremely hard to communicate with your attorney if you hire one of them. They rarely get back to you and it takes days or weeks for them to respond to an email or to a phone call. It's attorneys like this that give lawyers a bad name. It's an ethical profession but attorneys like these should be disbarred and should go to work at Jack-in-the-Box or Burger King like they were meant to be.
