The worst massage I've ever had. No pressure and she didn't even touch most of my muscle groups. It was the relaxation massage and I was anything but relaxed. I was irritated the whole time. Went to redeem a gift card I was given. Apparently they have stopped honoring gift cards from the previous owner. The previous owner supposedly owes the new owner money and they have decided to not accept these, since they never received their funds. I did not know this, nor did the person who bought me the gift card. Yes, the gift card is from a few years ago, but there are many reasons to why I haven't been able to book a massage until now. However they are not any of their business. They still used the same business game, so there was no indication to me anything was different or wrong. I went in to schedule said massage and was given a slip of paper and was told to utilize the websites and I may but probably will not receive my money back. Very great way to treat potential customers. I was asked if anything else could be offered and just told...no, do what's on the paper. I felt like I was child in school. Since the Carlisle Warm Springs shut down, it took us a couple years and a baby later to finally book an appt with the chambersburg spa! I had Ingrid and she was wonderful. There was a whole vibe to the message and she was gentle but rough in the right spots. I had tight shoulders going in but felt very relaxed leaving. My husband felt the same! He loved the entire message. (It was his first time and doesn't really like his feet rubbed) he works as a carpenter and has a bad back. He felt great after it was all said and done! My mother went in there and they butchered her hair. She has short and already bleached hair but wanted to stop the bleaching and asked for her roots to remain dark with some darker highlights added in to blend into her natural color. The senior stylist/colorist was who took care of her and made her hair a maroon color. The photo my mother showed her was not what she got. The senior colorist messed up a simple color deposit. She had to sit there two different times for the stylist to try and "fix" her hair. My mother left crying and the salon didn't even charge her because they knew. read more

I made an appointment today for a Shellac pedicure and Warmsprings did not disappoint. When I entered, I was greeted by a warm smile and lead into the Zen like waiting area. They offer a wide array of coffees, tea, and water. Emily ( esthetician) promptly can out to meet me and we went into a semi private room for the pedicure. I went here with a gift certificate to get a hair cut. Normally I go to the cheaper places and use coupons when possible, so going to Warm Springs was a treat. When I walked in, a young lady greeted me behind a desk. She got me checked in, took my coat and hung it up, and showed me to their waiting room (Zen Room). Soft instrumental music plays, there are nice, plush seats, and a beverage station. I elected not to partake in a beverage, but there are so many coffee choices! It's almost worth coming early if you want to try something new! I had an appointment with Maria to cut my hair. This salon has several levels of service, I chose the lowest in order to stretch my gift card as much as possible. The lowest level is $25 which includes a brief scalp massage, hair washing, cut, and style. You also get a complimentary "makeup refresher" by their Aveda makeup artist. First we discussed my hair and what I wanted done. She gave a few suggestions as we discussed what I was looking for. Then, a brief but lovely scalp massage with a very invigorating and great smelling oil. The hair washing was nice, relaxing. Then the cut. She took her time, was careful and cautious. Not rushed, which was a nice change. Once she was done, she dried it and asked me if it was ok. She said if it wasn't short enough or layered enough, she'd happily go back and re-work it. But it looked fabulous! The make-up re-fresher wasn't quite my style, as I don't wear any makeup. The artist, who was friendly, assured me she would keep it natural as to not "shock me." She did indeed stick to neutral colors, but it was still a lot of makeup. Fun to see what I'd look like, but not something I'd do again, even at free. Overall it was a pleasant and relaxing experience. I always hate getting my hair cut, but this place made it better. I wouldn't pay the high cost of $49 for a master to cut my hair, but for $25, it is decent. Still much more than I have ever paid, but I feel that here you'll get a great hair-cut, and if you don't, they'll make it right before you leave. Just a side note about gift cards - you cannot use it for gratuity. It says that on the back of the card, but not many people read that. Bring cash for your tip. read more

I've been going here for probably two years now for my hair (cut and color) and have never had a bad experience. The staff are warm and friendly and my master stylist, Carrie is phenomenal. If you get a haircut, you get a scalp massage with this wonderful Aveda stress relief oil. If you're there for color you can get a hand massage. Carrie is always so gracious with making sure I'm comfortable by asking if I'd like anything to drink or read (when I'm there for hair color). This was my second visit to the spa and the only reason I gave it a second try was that they had sent me a 25% off coupon. My first visit was for A manicure and a pedicure. The nail staff were nice but when trimming my cuticles they caused them to bleed. It was several days before the discomfort was gone. My second visit was for a 90 minute vital massage. The massage therapist lacked knowledge and skill. After the first 15 minutes I contemplated asking her to stop and just leaving. I had asked her twice during that 15 minutes to increase the pressure of the massage. Neither time did she act like she heard me. The description of this massage on their website states this massage includes the use of hot stones. The massage therapist spent more time playing with the stones then she actually did using them on my body. She rub them down my spine and then back up my spine and then put them away. She used them for less than 60 seconds. I asked her if she could reapply the hot stones and finish my massage. Again she acted like she did not hear me. This was the worst massage I've ever had. I am used to getting a massage once a month. I've traveled all over the world and experienced many different types of massage. I am not sure where your massage therapist are trained, but this massage therapist should never lay her hands on another person. It was a waste of my money and a waste of my time. read more

I had an appointment to get highlights and my hair trimmed. The hairstylist was new, because she had someone watching her at first. My hair is dark brown, and I asked for light brown highlights. I wanted them partial, because I wanted to see if I liked the color combination before fully committing to have my whole head done. The hairstylist told me that she'd rather do the full highlights so that's what she did. She was very friendly but I could tell something was wrong when she was washing my hair. She started asking other hairstylists for advice and added product to my hair while I was at the sink. She put it in my hair like shampoo. She did this twice. Then, when I got back in front of the mirror, I saw that the highlights at my forehead were yellow and the ones at my neck were gray. I looked terrible. She continued with the appointment as if nothing was wrong. She trimmed my hair, without asking how many inches I wanted off. She just took about 1/2 inch off. I didn't say anything because I was stunned by the color of my hair. She, then, started to blow dry my hair. She had the hairdryer on high heat and burned my scalp. I was cringing the whole time and twice I actually flinched from the pain. She didn't even notice and kept on burning me. When the nightmare was finally over, I went to the bathroom to see my hair in different lighting. It still looked terrible. I cried. I paid and left. Later that day, I called back and spoke to the manager. She told me that staff had reported that I seemed upset and she wanted to call and check to make sure I was okay. I told her that I was very unhappy with my hair. She scheduled me to come in the next day to have it fixed. I was with a different, more experienced stylist and she fixed my hair and now I look fantastic. But the nightmare experience was so upsetting that I will not go back there again. I got a gift card for a birthday present to this spa. I decided to get a facial. I'm 55 years old and had never had one before. When I got there the gal behind the counter was pleasant and asked me to fill out some information on my skin type, etc. I was seated in a quiet, comfy waiting area while I filled out my paperwork. I had Lori, as my clinician, and I couldn't be more pleased. She went over my paperwork and made sure she understood my skin type and what I was hoping to get with my visit. She also educated me in things I could do to help my skin to stay feeling and looking youthful. I have dry skin so the whole thing left me feeling hydrated, refreshed and it even helped my sinuses. Lori is top notch and very knowledgeable and delightful to talk to. I'll be back again and would recommend a facial for anyone regardless of age. The staff and atmosphere of the spa were also a great experience. So glad to have this kind of pampering so close to me. Kudos! read more

Brought my daughter for a gel manicure. Her manicure was sloppy and they left polish on her fingers along. They also did not get all the cuticles. I called to complain and ask that they fix her nails and they said they would want the same nail tech to do the repairs so that she would learn from the experience. I understood but that would make my 15 year old daughter very uncomfortable to deal with so I declined. They said they would have someone from management contact me. I still have not heard back from them. This was supposed to be a special treat for my daughter entering 10th grade. Instead, it turned into a negative experience and it is now 4 days after the manicure and the gel polish is already come off several fingers. Really disappointed after a second visit and OVER $300 later!! First hair appointment was spent talking to the stylist for 30min about everything but my hair. We talked about 10min about that and I showed her a few pics what I was going for. She's the stylist-the professional so I trusted her. After 2.5 hrs and her taking a few smoke breaks I left with yellow reddish brassy hair -I did call in and and returned the next day for correction. Which they did without a problem-however being charged about $140 plus 2 tips of $20 ea (because I am a nice person who values one time) within 2 weeks my hair was right back to the same color it was before I entered the place?!? I had made a follow up appt and because I am all for second chances I kept the appointment - another 2.5 hrs-I did leave with a nice color altho felt pretty rushed thru the last 30min and I left furious at the $156 charge and of course the $25 tip. I'm sorry but I told this woman I was not interested in paying a small fortune for hair color. Not once did she discuss the process -I had to ask questions and never did she indicate extra charges for more color and then toner?! I feel so ripped off!! I work very hard for my money and over $350 in 6 weeks is abit outrageous. The staff is young and Altho pleasant they lack a few things . I understand I had brassy hair and needed correction what I don't understand is why she didn't do the permanent the first time and why none of this was bought to my attention as these cost were adding up?! $156?!?? She didn't even color ALL my hair??!?? ROOTS AND A FEW LOWLIGHTS!! That was it!! I am not a happy person today. Sorry but before u keep adding to a client you should have a conversation. My husband scheduled a surprise day here for our anniversary! Not only is it super open and welcoming but it's a great spot right on West High Street. My husband and I were able to get delicious crepes across the street at Helena's before our appointments. The massage was absolutely wonderful! It only receives two stars because the service staff are decent. I had scheduled a massage and had to reschedule because of a work situation last minute. While they explained the cancellation policy, I had before been under the belief that if I rescheduled there was no issue. When I called to cancel I was told the previous time they were being 'nice' and I would now be charged despite wanting to reschedule. I've spent well over a thousand dollars there between massages, gift cards for employees and product since they had opened in Carlisle. I have traveled to many high end resorts and have lived in cities. I've never had a charge for a cancellation if I rescheduled. Especially since they had already set a precedent, the receptionist was unwilling to hear any other argument and the telling me before that they were being "nice" was just flabbergasting. I asked for the owner to call and discuss and he clearly is uninterested. I am taking my business elsewhere. Maybe I'm being whiny.. maybe not. I think the biggest issue for me is that my understanding of rescheduling saved me from cancellation fees was actually not reality and the sudden change without even a discussion of, "well here is the situation and we have been doing things this way to be "nice" but after this we will no longer be".. might have been a better way to handle things. Luckily I found another massage therapist and another business gets all of my employee appreciation gifts. read more

Not a good experience. First & last visit. I paid top dollar for highlights & lowlights. During my initial visit, large sections of the highlights pulled red (were brassy looking). The stylist, in an attempt to correct the problem, went back in & refoiled my hair. Slowly picking out as much of the pieces that were brassy & applying low/high lights. The stylist told me she was using a new color by Goldwell that would last a min of 2 mons & was excellent at covering grey hair. That same visit, after the 2nd attempt, more pieces along the sides by my ears, were left brassy. Again, she refoiled my hair in these areas. I was charged an extra $10 for the color needed for her mistake! After arriving home I realized the top part of my hair was left brassy. I had to return to the salon & my hair was refoiled again. Leaving my hair dry & damaged this time. Not happy with my hair but not daring to touch it one more time with color processing, I gave it time. 10 wks later the color has slowly faded out & the blonde has turned a funny color. The problem now is the pieces she put the lowlights on. They are back showing the brassy hair color that the stylist caused during the 1st visit! All she did was basically "cover-up" the mistake. Foolish of me not to think of that during the initial visit. Regardless, even though my highlights were not due for a few more weeks, I had to do something because my natural color (roots) were now such a contrast to the yucky low light color now in my hair. I called the salon to talk to the stylist before making an appt. GONE!!! and all the notes that she said she would write down so that the same mistakes would not happen, were not there. Very disappointing. The salon (Mgr) disregarded everything I said & made me feel dishonest, even though they knew how many times my hair had been redone by this stylist. Not once did I ask for a refund but was told right away that I would not get one. I explained that I was willing to pay full price for haircut & high/low lights again but "should" corrective hair color be needed, I do not feelthat I should be charged, as the receptionist had advised me over the phone. I was told by the Mgr. there would be a charge. She was condescending & rude. Even went as far as to blame their product that they use (Goldwell), saying "maybe it's just not the product for you". Goldwell didn't foil my hair & leave it brassy. Her responses were beyond ridiculous. I was told to find another hair salon!! As if I was going to go back there after the way I was treated. I recently received a gift certificate for Warm Springs Day Spa and Salon for a Spa Manicure and Pedicure at the Chambersburg location. The place was lovely and had a nice sitting area that I was directed to until the person doing my mani and pedi was available. The sitting area was very comfortable with nice music and drinks available. I was offered a drink when I was taken back to the area to have my mani and pedi, even available was wine which was very nice. I had two separate appointments several days apart as there was not enough time available for both without waiting a week or so. Both people who did my treatments were very nice. The person who did my mani was enjoyable and was easy to converse with. The person doing my pedi was not as friendly. I had been to two other salons for mani and pedis which were not the spa treatment within several months of going to Warm Springs. Both places were less expensive and did a much better job. My mani looked very nice, but there was alot of dry skin which was not taken care of around my nails, which was trimmed at both of the other places. The pedi nail polish looked very nice, but again not much attention was paid to the rough skin on the bottoms of my feet and heels, which was done at both of the other places. This was unacceptable to me especially with it being sandal season. For the price, I would not go back to Warm Spring as I was not satisfied with the service. Both of the other places, although they did not have the comfort and the frills, did much better jobs on both the manis and pedis then Warm Springs for a much lower price. I would much rather have quality services than the nice waiting room and drinks! read more

Pedicure Review: Extremely disappointed. I wanted a place where my step-daughter and I could get pedicures. I knew the price going in, but I wanted the "spa" experience and the side by side so I decided to splurge. I was (rudely) told that I would need to give a credit card when I made the appointment and that I would be charged if I didn't give a 24 hour cancellation notice. I paid for the seasonal "Mojito" spa pedicure, which came with a drink. My step-daughter is underage and did not get the drink but was still charged the same price. They rushed through the entire process... the scrub, the mask, the massage all rushed. And the final result isn't very nice. The nails were not shaped well and the polish was slapped on. My half full drink was snatched away and we were shown to the door without even allowing the polish to dry. The woman at the check out was unfriendly and rudely reminded us to leave a tip. Was just trying to have a fun girls night and this was a big let down. Don't waste your money. read more
