My husband is a man of few words. "Powell Painting is a High Quality Operation."…read moreI could not agree more, but want to elaborate. We survived the teen and school-age years much better than the interior of our house did. It was well overdue for a refresh 13 years after the last painting and our designer recommend Powell to tackle 2700 square feet up and down plus a 35 year-old popcorn stucco ceiling. I have to start with the ceiling (they did). It got planed and sanded, the HepaVac creating minimal dust with the crew painstakingly protecting all the floors, sealing doors and tidying up at the end of every day. Honestly such a worthwhile difference when it was done. Tanja the owner is very particular (more picky than I!) and has so much experience and good ideas, such as how to improve the worn look of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. With a thorough knowledge of the best way to do things, best materials and best referrals (trades), she also offered great advice on colour and design. Her quote was comprehensive and accurate. Our painter (a drywall expert to boot) was easy to get along with, punctual, reliable, and so hard-working. On time and on Budget, everything was put back in order just as before. And the follow-up! Every detail attended to, they noticed little things to amend that we wouldn't have and ensured our absolute satisfaction. This company is truly Professional - Open, Honest, Fair, Considerate, Courteous, Friendly, Detail-Oriented, Careful and Precise. You cannot do better, stop looking.

Dutch Masters painted my entire condo unit, including trim and we LOVE IT!. From the beginning Jeff gave us a detailed quote that broke down exactly what the crew would do so we had no surprises, both to do with price and to do with actual work eg. sanding, repairing, prep work, priming, painting etc. It was a big job and there was a lot of communication and schedules to work around. Jeff was excellent in communicating what was happening on what days and being respectful of our needs and our family. Prices and expectations both from us and from him and his crew were transparent and easy to understand. They made sure to wrap and/or protect all of our furniture items and flooring. If you are looking for a company who delivers what they promise this is it. I do have to mention…read morethat they are on the higher end of pricing, but if you are OCD like me and need precision, this is the company for you. We had a mutual miscommunication which was quickly remedied by Jimka, the owner. I had my entire 2 bed 2 bath apartment painted (ceilings, walls, doors and trim, baseboards and I had drywall repairs). All of the work was done in 5 days, Mon-Fri, and I was able to contact Jimka for updates or concerns as the job was in the process and he addressed all of my concerns. I needed dry wall repairs for a big imperfection in one of my bedroom walls and for a hole in the living room to get filled, both have been addressed. Very impressed and definitely feel like I chose the right company for this big project. I highly recommend this company when it comes to good quality work, precision and professionalism.

Received a quote via text message after Loris looked at what I needed done. The text message quote…read morewas provided as follows: Bathroom ceiling 3'x6' feet sized $240 (labour $180, materials $60) Living room wall: $400 (labour $280, materials. Loris kept on asking me for a hug which made me feel awkward and intimidated. I was lucky I stopped him from removing the bathroom sprinkler head on bathroom ceiling. It would have caused a major disaster flooding my condo as well as numerous condo units. I should have stopped him when I was stressed and told me if I did not trust him to leave. I should have told him to leave. There was no painter's tape used in the bathroom or an angled brush to paint free hand. Loris got ceiling paint onto the top of bathroom walls. When it was pointed out to Loris his response was "you are selling and moving no one is going to notice" I told him it will be noticeable (see photos) Living Room: An area of the wall that was already mudded and primed he applied another coat of mud and primer. Next day when it was time to have the wall painted Loris used a colour detection device that was inaccurate. The Manager of the paint store told me best way to match existing wall paint is by removing a small piece of painted drywall behind a socket plate. I kept on telling Loris this but did not listen to my request. He had paint tinted to what his colour reader results read being Barcelona Beige. The original colour on the wall is Bleeker Beige. As soon as he started painting the living room wall I stopped him because the colour and sheen were wrong. He told me to wait until it dried. He painted another spot and obviously the paint and sheen no match, I stopped him from continuing to paint. Overall, I would recommend using a licensed, insured, BBB, bonded and insured painting company. A company that provides an invoice, receipt. A company that takes other forms of payment besides $cash in full before a job is completed in a satisfactory manner. Loris wanted me to pay him $525.00 for a job he did not rectify. He caused me so much stress I mistakenly paid him the $525.00 so he would leave. He never rectified the bathroom ceiling paint on top of my walls. After I paid him he returned to the paint store with a paint chip. It was too late I had already lost confidence in his work. He should have used painter's tape and/or an angled brush so no ceiling paint was mistakenly painted on top of bathroom walls. I will need to hire a company to rectify this.
