i visited january 2013 for an afternoon tea with a friend. really liked it! great doorstep wedge sarnies (i only had cheese and egg fillings so cant comment on meat options) on fresh breaddelicious! followed by 3 amazing yummy cakes! fresh baked on premises i am told, they were fantastic! a moist choc cake (not normally a fan of choc pud but this was fab), a fruity crumble pastry pie thing that was just melt in the mouth, and a big fat fruit scone with quality jam and, best of all, clotted cream (proper job!). washed down with a bargain 1.20 pot of coffee which was 3 big cups worth. we also sat on the sofasthey seemed to be chesterfields and were so comfy we would have stayed all afternoon if had enough time! old traditional pub interior, with big chunky wood tables, modern chairs, and (i like) the fact that they haven't tried to cram too much seating in. will definately return (really for the cakes!). read more
