It's far from a sleepy old man pub, and frequently hosts discos and other events..yet still remains a cosy and friendly atmosphere. The drinks are reasonably priced but the pub doesn't serve food. The decor is rather like it's name - lots of brick exposed walls, with old doors and lots of comfy bench style seating. One of the really nice homely things about this pub is the pub dog, Henry. He's a really friendly big old dog, who loves a variety of crisp snacks (although you shouldn't really feed him!), but as soon as he hears a crisp packet wrinkle he will be at your feet. So yes - local boozer, with local people, yet friendly and charming.

The selection of drinks is also excellent: a fair number of hand pumps, and, more importantly, they offer real ales from smaller breweries, and the not usual, jaded Doom Bar or Pedigree. Lovely, helpful barman, too. The range of single malt whiskies outshines that of many much larger establishments. And, even in a place for just ten people, The Last Post offers live music!
