Finally getting a chance to write this review! I wasn't a patient here but my boyfriend was... to my surprise...lol! We were ON VACATION from California! He chipped his tooth a day or two before our vacation smh and I did not expect him to make an appointment, at a random dentist office at that! Upon entering the office, the two ladies up front were very nice and friendly. He filled out some paper work and was in and out of there in no time. While I waited, the ladies gave me some great suggestions of where to eat around there. Every person that came in was greeted like they've all known each other for years. The environment was nice to be around. He said the dentist was really good, and nice, as well. I believe him, cause I can hear him speak from where I was sitting every now and then and he sounded pretty cool, and chill. You can see from the photos-- He did a good job. You can't even tell the chip was there! I'm glad he set up the appointment because otherwise he'd be smiling like that chipped-tooth photo in every photo! Anyway, great office all around!!! read more

Of course! Here's the same review without bold text: --- I had a fantastic experience at Wardwell Scott A, DDS! From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely professional. They accept Tricare military insurance, which made everything smooth and stress-free--perfect for military families. Their appointment reminder system is top-notch: I received well-timed texts and emails, which helped me easily stay on track with my visits, even with a busy schedule. The hygienists are outstanding--super thorough, gentle, and attentive. They made sure every corner of my mouth was meticulously cleaned and explained everything along the way, which I really appreciated. If you're looking for a trustworthy, military-friendly dental office with great organization and caring practitioners, Wardwell Scott A, DDS is an excellent choice. Highly recommended! read more

Concordia did find that they deliberately overcharged me and demanded they refund my money! It is likely a common occurrence at this office beware!!!! They have retaliated against me by no longer taking myself or my wife as patients. These kind of people hate to be caught doing their illegal billing practices. read more

I have been a patient with Scott Wardell, DDS for decades. He and his staff are A-1 as far as I am concerned. He never tries to sell me some sort of procedure. He always thoroughly explains the pros and cons to me. His current staff includes a fantastic office manager, Lesa Kimble who is amazing. The young women who clean my teeth take their time, and do a superb job of cleaning my teeth and always remember to numb before beginning so I feel no pain. They also always check all medications I am taking. It is a happy place to visit, always. I know I am in good hands. I am lucky to have Dr. Wardwell and his professional staff in my life. I hope he never retires. Diane Tippett, Honolulu read more

Dr Wardwell under promises and over delivers! He is meticulous and an artist when it comes to creating crowns. We have been extremely happy with his work and by all the team in his office! Highly recommend! Mahalo for all that you do! Lise and Bruno read more

Where do I even begin. It started with the receptionist being so kind, and accommodating. Immediately offering scheduling preferences to plan accordingly around my care. Clear and concise about how to arrive to the dental office. I was called back, the dental tech and the Doctor were so professional, kind, and empathetic. I had 5 fillings done and a cleaning. Dentist made sure I was nice and numb. Reassuring me along the way. Dental tech was experienced and kind, working with the dentist like a fine tuned machine. I was in and out in under the amount of time they originally estimated it may take. I'm so appreciative of the work they did on me. There aren't enough kind words or compliments in the world to describe this experience. I was afraid and untrusting and left with a restored trust for dental care thanks to this team. read more

Dr.Wardell is amazing! He did my filling and took care of the gaps within my front teeth. They do military and Lisa at the front desk is awesome. Got to meet Kathy and Violet. I recommend this place to anyone who's had anxiety going to the dentist. :) read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in over 20 years because of how anxious I was -- I was truly terrified. But I'm so glad I found Dr. Wardwell and his team. They made me feel completely comfortable and safe from the moment I walked in. I ended up needing two fillings, and I honestly couldn't believe it: there was zero pain. Not during, not after -- it was quick, gentle, and nothing like I expected. If you've been putting it off out of fear, please take this as your sign to go. Dr. Wardwell is amazing -- kind, patient, and so skilled read more

Love Dr. Wardwell and his staff. They are always so friendly and professional. The quality of care is always exceptional. He's the third dentist I have been to in Hawaii since I came back home in 2020, and I have to say that I stuck it out with him since I found him a couple years ago read more

Dr Wardwell is amazing. We have been going to him for many years and he consistently prodiuces excellent results. Most recently my husband had to have three front teeth worked on and the result was beautiful. ALL of his team is phenomenal. From the front desk ( thankyou Lisa!!) to all those that work with him as a team in the treatment rooms. They are skilled, kind, and gentle.. They treat you like family and from visit to visit remember all that is going on in your life. I highly recommend Dr Wardwell and his team as a most excellent choice for your dental care. read more

Dr. Wardwell continues to be the most caring, conservative and gentle dentist I've ever had (I'm 72). A tooth with 4 fillings in it recently chipped. Rather than adding a 5th filling to an already fragilely structured tooth, a cap was suggested. It went very well and I was out of there under an hour with my temporary cap (and looking gorgeous by the way!) :) His assistant Violet along with Ellie his hygienist and Lisa the office manager are welcoming, compassionate & efficient. I've referred many of my friends and Dr.'s latest patient will be my grandson Lou... :) If you want to feel you're being taken care of and not gouged go see Dr. Scott Wardwell.... you will not regret it! I called and the receptionist sounded so unpleasant over the phone and really rude. I understand it can be hard work but where's the professionalism. Maybe consider hiring a new receptionist if there's so many complaints since she seems to hate her job and don't want to help the customers . Nobody wants to receive unpleasant customer service !!!!!!!!!!! read more

This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. The team was very professional and friendly, especially Ellen and Dr Scott. I highly recommend to anyone!!! Thanks!! read more

Love Dr. Wardwell and the staff!!! Always caring and especially for chickens like me, they do everything to make my experience as pain-free as possible read more

Always a positive experience at Dr. Wardwell's office! The staff is friendly and the location is very convenient.

It is a treat to have Dr. Wardwell and his excellent staff work on my teeth. I have been going so long, we have become personal friends, rather than having an impersonal procedure being done. He has some personal stories that make the procedure that I can relate to, so I'm very at ease, which makes what would be sensitive occurrence, pass with little discomfort. The only drawback is the "challenging" parking garage, but the view from the chair of Tantalus and Round Top Drive is calming while waiting for any anesthesia to take affect. read more

Dr. Wardwell and most of the staff is amazing however my personal rating is a one star due to the very unprofessional, unpleasant and rude receptionist. Will definitely not be going back. read more

Ellen was so amazing, I get anxiety going to appointments alone but she did amazing and made sure I was comfortable through the entire x-ray & cleaning process. She provided great advice on things I was worried about. Dr. Wardwell was also great and very kind. Lisa at the desk also made the one experience easier for me and was kind. I recommend this place to anyone looking for very friendly staff read more

Once again I was impressed by Dr.Wardwell and his staff's professional, efficient and friendly service. The excellent (and painless) dental work, I now take for granted. It is of course paramount to know that you are receiving the best care possible, yet it is also a tremendous relief to never have to worry that the best judgement is being used in decisions about one's healthcare. This is what Dr.Wardwell provides. Routine visits for checkups and cleaning are always easy issues here; but it is the sudden and urgent visit for unexpected tooth pain and mishap that make me very grateful for Dr.Wardwell's practice. The aloha doesn't hurt either! read more

I just read a low review because of the receptionist. I, too, had the same experience and I left because of it. I loved Dr. Wardwell and his staff. I'd go back if she were gone or changed her attitude. read more

I love this dental office. I was new to the island and looking for a great practice and great fun I found them. I looked up reviews and this office which had glowing reviews from not only the patients but also Honolulu Magazine which awarded the practice it's Best Dentist award. All staff including Dr. Wardwell are very sweet and knowledgeable. When it comes to procedures, they don't try to diagnose you with unnecessary treatments just to make a dollar. They only do what is necessary and needed which is very refreshing. Love this place. read more

Ambiance: Dr. Wardwell and the whole staff were very attentive towards their customers' well being. As soon as I entered the clinic, I was greeted like I've been coming there for years (it's my first appointment!). The receiving lounge was not crowded. Clients were already ushered in their individual treatment rooms. The treatment room was very cozy. and the huge glass window was picturesque and calming. Treatment: the dental tech and the Dr were very attentive and gentle with each procedure. i received a very detailed teeth cleaning. I was given precise information about the status of my teeth and different options on how to go about future treatment, what is urgent and what can wait. I was also given information on cost saving option. Front desk: I was given all the information needed for the current and future visits. Breakdown of future visit and why each step was important. Overall: You know when you go to any offices, you'll get a casual-friendly greeting. At Dr. Wardwell's clinic...you'll get that plus a warm-cozy-genuine vibe. It left me an impression that I didn't just go to the dental clinic for a simple routine cleaning but went for a Dental Spa! when you have a busy life...finding a relaxing, cozy, warm atmosphere is always welcome in my book. read more

Outstanding - period. Friendly, personable and professional. Easy to speak with and discusses options in treatment. And most importantly _ gentle _. Visits to him and Ellen the hygienist are stress-free for me. Highly recommended. read more

It is always such a pleasure to enter the offices of Dr. Wardwell and be greeted with a smile by the entire staff. They each take great pains to make you feel welcome and valued. The office is so well run and you can just tell they all really care about each other....like a family. And of course the quality care you receive is second to none! If I have not done so before I would like to thank each and every person in the office for their patience, kindness and the real professionalism they each bring to thier jobs. I really look forward to each appointment and almost wish I could go more than twice a year! Try out Dr. Scott Wardwell and you will not be disappointed! read more

Dr. Wardwell and his staff were an absolute pleasure. Incredibly professional and kind.

The Dr and his hygienist are kind and skilled individuals, but you have to go through the receptionist gatekeeper who is unprofessional at best. I attempted to speak on the phone with the doctor and was unable to get past her. I had a terse email exchange and was informed that I would be charged a consult fee. Proceed with caution. read more

This guy is NOT OKAY! He is not experienced in measuring & installing Permanent Bridges. He put in a 3-tooth bottom lower Bridge which was oversized as I have a small jaw & it never fit properly. I repeatedly told him from the beginning & he tried to correct it to no avail which exasperated him from day one. I bit the side of my mouth every single day for 2 years when eating. When I told him about this after the 3rd visit, he told me to chew on the other side of my mouth. Not only that, he put in a Crown on opposite bottom lower side of mouth. When the Dental Hygienist was to clean my teeth, she reviewed the X-rays & discovered that I had a cavity on the upper right tooth which he did not see! Perhaps the Hygienist knew what kind of Dentist he was. She had him fill the cavity & he became disgruntled as I was interrupting his reading of Surfing Magazines & eating Chocolate at his desk per the Hygienist. When she was to clean my teeth, she blabbered the whole time about her boyfriend & didn't even clean my teeth...I kid you not! Much to my chagrin, the Bridge, Crown & Filling lasted only 2 years & cost $5,000 or more in 2012 with Insurance! Imagine how much money that is today for shoddy work lasting only 2 years! If you value your Dental Care & need to have some serious work done, I suggest you do thorough research on the work needed & on the Dentists in Hawaii! Grrrr! read more

Dr. Wardwell has been my dentist for 20+ years and is the epitome of an amazing professional! Ellen makes the perfect partner as dental hygienist and has provided the utmost care in cleanings and procedures. The dynamic duo treats everyone as 'ohana, I even have family from the Big Island who fly over specifically to see Dr. Wardwell and Ellen! Thus I recommend this office to anyone seeking dental care! read more

This is by far my favorite Dentist office I've been to in my 35 years of life. The overall quality and thoroughness of Dr Wardwell and Ellen the Dental Hygienist really puts me at ease in regards to my dental health. Lesa at the front desk always greets me with a wonderful smile and I feel so welcome. I stumbled upon Dr Wardwell after having a really bad experience with my previous Dentist who made me feel like I was just making him $$$ and another number to him. I highly recommend Dr Wardwell to everyone! read more

Finding a new dentist always seems like an impossible task. There's very little data to make an informed decision. The best you can usually do is find out how old they are and what school they graduated from. After doing my research, I opted to try out Dr. Wardwell. I am very happy with the results. My wife had some fillings done, and she's very happy with the results. They don't do amalgams here I don't think, but the prices are very reasonable for resin. The staff are very friendly and willing to answer questions and accomadate you. Unlike many dentists, I didn't feel like any unnecessary work was pushed on either of us. Dr. Wardwell takes a conservative approach and prefers to wait and see rather than doing anything hasty. To me, this is a sign of a dentist concerned with you and not his revenue stream. GG, Dr. W... We have been going to Dr. Scott Wardwell for 8 years now after trying three other dentists when we first arrived in Honolulu. Dr. Wardwell is THE BEST dentist on this island. I like him so much that if I ever move, I'm going to try to talk him into moving, too. Too many dentists here--even when you tell them upfront that you are not interested in "transforming your smile" for $10,000--are focused on cosmetic stuff instead of the functional issues that we come to a dentist to have fixed. Dr. Wardwell gives you all your options and always tries to keep the cost reasonable while doing what you need to have done. I am greeted like an old friend whenever I am in the office and I truly appreciate the professionalism of the entire staff. If you need a dentist, your search is over! read more
