Wanna Chill has the kind of laid‑back beach vibe that makes you feel like you're about to fall in love with a dessert. The staff, absolute sweethearts. They greet you with a smile and walk you through any though decisions you may have. The service was smooth and convenient. The shaved ice arrives dramatically, towering, colorful, and clearly hiding secrets with the ice cream below. The quality is legit, fluffy ice, bold flavors, and ice cream so creamy you could taste in every bite. "It's the only place where you can get brain freeze AND inner peace at the same time." Miguel C.

If location, location, location are the words to live by in real estate then choices, choices, choices are the words to live by in sweets and boy oh boy does Wanna Chill deliver! Not gonna lie, it was a little overwhelming, until the Marvelous Miss Maya came in to save the day!!!! 2 out of three of us were having trouble deciding. One of us, the lactose intolerant one, asked Maya for help. Maya drooped in with all of the knowledge needed to help out dairy free diet kiddo find the perfect treat. Then it was my turn. The mom who doesn't want to spend money or calories unless she can have exactly what she wants how she wants it. Maya is a girl's girl, because she hooked me up with exactly what I needed. Thanks for the great service! Even at the end of their day, Maya and company were all smiles, so helpful, and made my group feel like we were at a party. Highly recommend.

Best place to get Dole wHip this side of the Pacific Ocean. If you don't feel like traveling all the way to Wahiawa or Disneyland to get soft served Dole wHip or a Dole wHip float, come to Redondo Beach and treat yourself at Wanna Chill. The servers today were great and friendly. Awesome atmosphere! Also, the servings were generous compared to the House of Mouse.

Every kind of ice cream you could want. Scoops, sundaes, waffle bowls etc but ALSO shaved ice creations and ice cream nachos but ALSO every kind of yummy bubble soda and Hawaiian juices and Japanese fish ice cream bars and even DOLE WHIP.....this place is ice cream nirvana. Service was fast and friendly but it takes awhile because each item is special but hey when you get a warm gooey fudgey brownie in your sundae, you give zero effs about the wait. This place is awesome. Lots of outside seating too but great to take it to go and get out of the way!!

I love shaved ice & ice cream together, so I'm happy to have this place in the South Bay! The staff were friendly and quick. Sadly my critiques are that the base ice cream scoop seemed super small and I was also surprised that the "big kahuna" was a lot smaller than pictured (still large but not like the picture). I didn't care for the peach flavor, it tasted like weird canned peaches. I'd do all watermelon next time.

Dessert in Redondo Beach, California... After viewing the sunset at Point Vicente Lighthouse, we looked for a nearby dessert, and "Wanna Chill" popped up on our Yelp apps. We found an easy free parking space right in front of the shop. There was a line out the door, but we eventually got to the front. I wanted the (cute) Kid's Bear dessert, but the cashier said they didn't have it - even though I showed her my photo of the picture menu. Shucks! I quickly had to decide on the Non-dairy Chocolate Chip ice cream. It's made with Oat Milk. It was OK. It wasn't as creamy as real ice cream, but at least I didn't have pain after eating it! Yay!

Small ice cream shop with a large variety menu. Service was quick and it didn't take long to get our orders. Their prices are a lot cheaper than other ice cream places I've been to, but the quality is still great. I got one scoop of the pistachio ice cream in a cone and it was more than enough. My other friends were feeling adventurous and got two scoops of different flavors - they all enjoyed their choices! My only complaint is I wish there was actual seating. There's an open area outside the shop that they could put chairs but otherwise I would come back to try another item on their menu!

So many different options! I got the dole whipped pineapple frozen yogurt which was sweet but balanced with the tartness of pineapple, very thick consistency My friend liked the big stick shaved ice Would want to come back to try the ice cream stuffed in italian bread It can be super crowded but service goes quick, the inside is a bit small.

Of course the usual x-factors of easy parking, no-wait short lines quick to serve, indoor ice cream parlor seating and the less-than-justified "lower prices, bigger portions" argument everyone has with every food vendor that exists... BUT truth be told, one of the reasons why I rank Handel's so high is the "Value" of the pricing and quantity compared to their peers competition along with the quality.

I come to this location all the time but never really pay attention to the pricing…read more The other day, I asked the girl at the counter if the small is the smallest size they have and she told me that there is a scoop that is at $2.50. I think, great since my elderly Dad is diabetic and shouldn't have a lot of ice cream, so I went with that but in a waffle cone, she said that would be $3.50. I said that's fine, I will have one in flavor A and the other one in flavor B, total came to $7.35 And I asked her to put the ice cream cone in a cup, so it would be easier for him to eat in the car as it was extremely hot that day, and I don't want it to drip all over the car. When she gave me the ice cream, it was both flavor in one cone. I told her I wanted 2 separate cone instead of all in one. And then she said it would be another $7, I was in a hurry, so didn't really put too much thoughts into it, and just charge it. So now I look at my charges, so it turns out the same serving, one is at $7.35 and the other is $7. When I get the ice cream, I asked her, so there nothing that is smaller than this. She said there is, but not in a waffle cone, it will be extra with a waffle cone. So I asked $2.50 in a regular cone and additional $3.50 for the waffle cone? She said yes!! I am still confused as to whether they have a smaller serving than small and how much it is. I check on the pricing people posted here and don't see a $2.50/$3.50 smaller size showing. It remains a mystery to me, and I really wanted to know as it will be a hot summer, both my elderly parents, who are diabetic, would probably asked for ice cream, and I really don't want them to have a small each on their own, since it is still a decent size and they don't like the same flavor, so they can't really share a small one.

The place has this classic ice cream shop feel with pastel aesthetics mixed into a modern clean vibe which mixes practicality with style. I LOVE the glass panel decoration and the front decor which are simple details yet convenient decoration. The options have an interesting range in diversity, from ice cream and drinks. Their combinations are so unique, blending trendy flavors like matcha, honey, and many more delicious flavors. My favorite flavor I have tried so far, was the Dalgona Affogato--which I picked because I was thinking of the squid games. The dessert was so smooth but the honey was slightly overbearing. If that is not to your preference, they have other options that can certainly fit to your taste buds. The ice cream is perfectly sweet and an excellent treat in this summer weather. The honey crisps placed on top of the ice were so little, which I wished they had a bit more since it tasted so good with the smooth ice cream. Another thing I hoped was for the affogato to be a bit bigger portion. But then again, I am unsure about the sizings of affogato since this is my first time trying it. Thank you Honeymee Gardena for the experiance, hoping to try more in the future. While I've been here a few times this is my first formal review. I came with my family one Sunday evening on a hot July day, bypassing several chains on the way, including the new(er) Salt and Straw across the street. The inside is packed to the brim with sweets, small toys, and people, much like a candy shop of old. After reaching the front of the winding line our family shared a Banana Split ($13) - three scoops of ice cream, a split banana, hot fudge, a single dry topping (we chose coconut), whipped cream, and a trio of cherries - about as classic as it comes. The ice cream was good but not exceptional. The chocolate and strawberry were fairly generic, but I liked the third scoop of banana foster ice cream which had a nice banana kick. I doubt this ice cream is home made. The complements and construction to the sundae were great, however, and the flavors came together well. As I would hope for a location like this, the staff are local youths who served with patience and passion. In cases throughout the store are several of their other specialties - ice cream cookie sandwiches, dipped frozen bananas, and more - inviting repeat visits. Prices are elevated but not crazy for such a trendy area, although I would say with the middling quality of the ice cream a couple dollars less would be fine. Overall, Manhattan Beach Creamery is a local landmark worth at least a single visit for anyone in the area. If you can get past the generic, if a little boring, ice cream flavor and rampant commodification of the interior, you'll find a classic ice cream parlor with great service and history. Is it worth a repeat visit? I leave that to you. Food: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 4/5
