I went by there today, looks like theoffice is closed. He was a great dentist, my kids went, my grandkids went and I went.

Terrible dentist. I went here to get my wisdom teeth removed. He told me I could just use local anesthesia since my teeth were in an easy position. The needles hurt and I was scared I was going to choke since It was my first time being that numb. I panicked a bit and cried and he shook his head at me and scoffed. Turns out two of my teeth were impacted and he ended struggling. He took out his frustration on me yelling at me to keep my mouth open even though I couldn't feel it. And he was also sweating over me which is disgusting. I came back a week later because he never gave me the bottle to rinse my gums so I had a terrible taste in my mouth. He never once even looked up to address me he just gave me the bottle like it was an inconvenience. They also harassed me by mail later on to get an extra $100 out of me that my insurance already told them I didn't have to pay. They even threatened to go to the creditors. Obviously they never did because it could easily be disputed since I can prove that I didn't owe them that. This was the worst experience I've ever had and I'm glad I never have to go back. He has a nasty attitude and just wants money. So much so he's willing to harass you to get an extra buck. Don't go here ! read more

Terrible Dentist. Rude awful people there. I suggest you stay away. Kept my mothers copay for no work done. Office manager kept trying to get my mother to do a consultation first so they could bill for that also. What a rip off. read more

I was surprised and uncomfortable as my sister emerged from the recovery room, after getting her wisdom teeth pulled. She had always been emotional, but here, she was sobbing uncontrollably, and mumbling nonsense through drooling lips. Weak and shaky, looking like Don Corleone, with cotton balls puffing out her cheeks, my wife and I took her back to our place, to take care of her in her fragile state. To this day, we still laugh about it, even though, my sister doesn't remember it as clearly as we do. Fast forward exactly one year later. When told I would need my wisdom teeth out, I feared looking as foolish as she did but not as much as I feared being conscious for the tooth tugging. I was referred to Dr Wank, nearby where I lived in Havertown. He was very professional and put me somewhat at ease, which is saying a lot because I was scared shitless. When the day came, I was brought to Dr Wanks office by my wife, who was excited to hear me blubber and talk nonsense. I was determined to fight the unknown demons of unconsciousness not before those pesky teeth were extracted. Everything was done efficiently, by Dr Wanks staff. Despite that, I hated the whole anesthetic process. The cold spray that masked the needles pain, may have hurt more than the needle. Its possible I hate needles more than I hate tooth pulling, but I wasn't going to escape that , no matter which choose-your-own-adventure i went with. I always had trouble falling asleep, always leaning towards being an insomniac, and could NEVER sleep when I had to or was supposed to. Somehow I thought I was going to be stronger than the anesthesia. I was asked to count backwards from 10 and made it to about 7 before I was proven wrong by medicine ( not the last time either). I was out, and the battle for keeping my post surgery cool was on. And here I was now, opening my eyes in the recovery room, feeling groggy, but still with my wits about me. I had won! No crying or crazy talk from THIS guy!. Talking was tough, but when I finally was able to focus on my wife's face, I mustered up a weak taunt, " Ha! I bet yer dishhhepointed I'm not talkin' shit!" My wife lovingly took my hand, caressed my swollen jaw and said, " Oh Honey. I'm not sure what you are talking about, but you have been up for the last hour...crying and babbling about the Death Star." Eh! Dignity is overrated. read more

A great dentist, all you need to know is that at the end of the procedure when you get your wisdom teeth removed you receive the prize. "I got yanked by Wank" T Shirt. Amazing. I had this done a few years back and did not have any problems whatsoever. Office was cool and the doctor is a great guy. read more

All four stars are a credit to this man's experience. The strike is for the receptionist, who is great by the way, but I just didn't like the back and forth or being diagnosed over the telephone. To her credit, she was partially right, but should leave it up to the expert. read more

Saw Dr Wank this morning for wisdom tooth extraction. I was most impressed with Dr Wank, Carol in front office and all his staff especially Leanne. Everyone was super nice and caring. Dr Wank put a whole different spin on my issue that my dentist had not mentioned at all and explained all my options. He has a great sense of humor which put me at ease. After reviewing my options we agreed on course of action and out came my top wisdom tooth. It took about 10 mins if that and when he was done I was shocked that the extraction was done. Didn't even hear the dreaded CRACK or feel a thing. I was disappointed I never got the Yanked By Wank Tshirt but will survive - they are only given for 4 wisdom extraction! I did get a lanyard :-) I would highly recommend Dr. Wank for any oral surgery needs. read more

Dr. Wank is fantastic. I'm a huge dental phobe weirdo. I was not looking forward to having a wisdom tooth removed. Dr. Wank and his assistants were SO nice and understanding. I had myself anxious over nothing. They were kind and Dr. Wank really is great at what he does. I hope I don't need to have any more wisdom teeth removed, but if I do he'd be the only person I called. read more

Awful! The man has no bedside manners. He never introduced himself and had smug answers to my questions. I asked do a lot of people get their teeth pulled out at this stage of life. He did not answer my question, instead he said "this IS an oral surgery center". I had to keep turning my head in the chair to try to talk to him. I ended up leaving without him doing the procedure. I wanted my personal paperwork back that I filled out, but unfortunately for some reason, legally, he is able to keep it for 5 years. So all my personal info is at his office. read more

I got yanked by wank over 15 years ago, and when I hear about other people's bad experiences, I always tell them that they should've gone to Dr.Wank for their oral surgery needs. I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled and the experience wasn't too bad. I just came to give a review for anyone who is considering having their wisdom teeth pulled.. read more

I had my wisdom teeth taken out here about 10-15 years ago. All 4 were impacted so it was probably worse than other surgeries; however, they never gave me the water tube needed to clean behind my teeth where the wisdom teeth were pulled. When I came back a week later for a follow up Harvey Wank, the surgeon who did the work, basically yelled at me in the office and asked why I didn't clean back there. He made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't know I could because I wasn't given anything special to clean it with! I couldn't even open my mouth enough to put a toothbrush back there! My friend had the same surgery from another doctor in a different practice...at exactly the same time I did. You should see the side-by-side pictures. He was fine with mild swelling. I, on the other hand, had an ice tourniquet wrapped around my head in extreme pain for at least 1 week. The Tshirt they gave me that said "I got yanked by Wank" is a joke. You gotta be kidding me. Steer clear of this quack. read more

I saw Dr. Wank in the early 90's to have my wisdom teeth pulled. These days, I teach high school. Every year I tell my students about the hilarious tee shirt that was presented to me as I was coming out of anesthesia. It read: "I got yanked by Wank!" I sure wish I'd kept that shirt. If I did, I would hang it in my office... My students always get a good laugh when I tell them about it. read more

Very professional and very nice. I am afraid of dental procedures and I went here and had one wisdom tooth extracted. They did an excellent job at making me feel relaxed and letting me know what was happening during the whole procedure. I hope I don't have to get my other 2 pulled but if I do I definitely will not hesitate to go back to them. read more

On my first visit, I was treated very badly by his receptionist Carol. I was with my mother and neither of us could believe how condescending and rude the woman is. She actually yelled at us (yes, both of us)! Dr. Wank removed all four of my wisdom teeth in less than 20 min's and the recovery period was awful. On a subsequent visit (I only went there because he had done the original work), he was rude and completely unprofessional. He didn't let me finish one sentence, he did nothing for me, and he didn't even address my main concern which is a large black spot that appeared on the inside of my cheek. He didn't even look at it. He just kept saying that my gums are healed from that butcher job he'd done. He refused to listen to my other problem, which could certainly be a very serious problem, don't you agree? We had been in the office together for less than a minute, he interrupted everything I said, he didn't offer any care nor did he address my issue, and he'd opened the door as if to signal it was time for me to leave! So I did. I got up and walked out while he was still repeating that same "your-gums-are-healed" excuse. And now I'm warning everyone and anyone who will listen! read more

My daughter was referred to Dr. Wank to have a problem tooth removed. She is very anxious when it comes to going to the dentist, as the receptionist Carol was informed before we arrived. Walking into the office with a coffee, our first instruction from Carol was to fill out this paperwork out in the lobby, and bring your coffee since there is no food or beverage allowed in the office. All paperwork filled out and returned and my daughter had to use the restroom, which you need to get a key to go up 2 flights of steps to use the restroom, she was denied and told to finish filling out the paperwork first and that she needed the social security number of the subscriber of the dental insurance plan for billing and verification of coverage. While is was not possible to immediately contact the source since his cell phone was not in reachable service, she informed my daughter she would have to pay the co-pay then. Since I have the same insurance as my daughter, I called Blue Shield and they told me she in fact did NOT need his ss# to verify that she was covered. I explained this to Carol, and she argued with me that she did. I said, call them and just verify coverage and then we will call you with the ss#. She angrily called and they confirmed coverage. And she said now how am I going to bill without a ss? I informed her that we would call with it, but you know she has coverage and that's what you wanted to know, so she would not be charged a co-pay. While on the phone with the insurance, she sarcastically made a few very personal remarks about my daughter's status of which the entire office could hear. At that point, my daughter so upset and anxious she left the office and was not going to return. After I convinced her to return, Carol would not take her back until she paid the $100.00 for the nitro gas. Finally after waiting for 1 hour, she went back and had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Wank, who was very nice and patient an eased her worries. When you are dealing with patients who come into an office already feeling anxious, the first person you encounter should not be a screaming wicked witch. She made no apologies for her rude and nasty behavior. However, we were warned from others that there was a woman Carol in the office who should not be dealing with patients because of her negative attitude. For as much as she liked Dr. Wank, we are thankful he was not her primary dentist, since Carol would be a reason one would not want to have to see or deal with on more than one occasion. As far as all the dentist assistants, they could not have been any nicer. Maybe Dr. Wank should reconsider his front desk person. I would highly recommend Dr. Wank, just prepare yourself, unless Carol gets a personality overhaul. read more

Wank is probably the most arrogant doctor I have ever met. My first appointment he constantly cut me off with everything I said and didn't even introduce himself. He told me to open my mouth, looked in my mouth for about 2 seconds then told me when I would be getting my wisdom teeth out. My mother accompanied me to my next appointment and my mom had a few questions for Wank. My sister had gotten dry sockets years before when she got her wisdom teeth out (also by wank) and my mom asked Wank politely what to look out for when it comes to dry sockets. His response ? She won't get them. Sure enough two days later I was in excruciating pain so we called Wank explaining my pain and how we believe it was a dry socket. Wank told me to take Motrin along with the pain medicine he prescribed. This eased the pain but not for long. I thought maybe I just needed a few more days for the swelling to go down but three days later I called again and Wank told me to come in. When I was in the patient room, he came in and asked what pain I had. I explained then without telling me what he was doing he ordered the nurse to get a needle and numbing cream. I asked the nurse if my dad could come back due to my fear of needles and she said it would only be 2 seconds. She was wrong. Wank stuck me with the needle about four times. While doing this he told me not to make noise because he has other patients. As I started to hyperventilate (didn't I mention I have a fear of needles) he told me to stop crying and when he was done I was still shooken up. At this point he didn't even tell me I had a dry socket. He told me he didn't know why I was freaking out and I should thank him got numbing me and taking away my pain. If he had listened the first time about my pain it would have been solved days before. On top of that he spent an extra 10 minutes to stand there and repeatedly asking me why I was freaking out and telling me to calm down. This wasn't in a caring way either. That is when he told me I had a dry socket. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. The only good thing I have to say is the receptionist was very nice and the nurses weren't as rude as Wank. read more

He could be nicer to his employees and customers as welll. I felt like I couldt ask questions. Seemed like he was getting pissed off with my questions. Yelled at one of his staff who had something in my mouth to get it out of my mouth. maybe he was having a bad day? or he just didnt like being asked too many questions. He did a good job. Just need some bedside manner. I wouldnt go back there. read more
