DOES NOT ABIDE BY CANCELLATION POLICY I'm not one to write a negative review but after speaking to 2 employees + the owner, I feel this needs to be posted. **I would also like to preface that I have never rented from Wandervans before and, as someone who rents one 3-4 times per year, I never will. I have never had this experience (or charged this much) from Escape Campervans, Travellers Autobarn, or anyone on Outdoorsy. We paid $702 for 4 nights. If you want a company who abides by their policy and is more affordable, look elsewhere.** My husband and I rented a campervan through Wandervans in Boise to visit my brother in law stationed at Mountain Home AFB. His deployment got moved up so we had to move our trip last minute (15 days before). Wandervans easily moved our trip to our new dates - no issues. We received a call today that his deployment is extended and he cannot give us a solid timeline on when he will be back so we are cancelling the trip for now. We attempted to call the phone number provided in the email *5 times,* a toddler answered the phone every time and hung up. After finally connecting with someone virtually, we were told to contact the owner because nothing could be done since we moved the trip. See attached photos, as the cancellation policy clearly states that if you are more than 30 days out from your reservation you will receive a full refund (we were almost 60 days out). We spoke to the owner on the phone for several minutes and he said that since we moved the trip, it voided the cancellation policy. There is no documentation of that in their cancellation policy, which he acknowledged, but said that it is not included because it should be "common sense." We were told that if we wanted our money back that we could have our credit card company attempt to dispute it but that he has a "credit card dispute team" -- essentially telling us good luck. I would like to add that the cancellation policy in the email is from the rescheduled trip's confirmation email -- nothing is mentioned about rescheduled trips being void of cancellation policy. read more

Really great service. We rented a large camper for 10 days and couldn't have been happier. We had a few times when we needed questions answered, and even at 8AM on a Sunday, customer service called us back within 5 minutes of leaving a message and was super helpful and understanding even when it was a boneheaded mistake on our part. The 3-seater bench was plenty big enough for our 3 large carseats and the front seats were very comfortable for mom and dad. The kits that they outfitted the van with were appropriately priced, thoughtfully put together and had everything we needed to get full use out of our camper. The pickup and dropoff process were very simple, we had no problems even though we arrived super late and left super early. The whole process allowed us to see Idaho in a way that would have been much more expensive if we'd have had to rely on a car and hotels, and much less practical if we had rented a full size RV. the practicality of being able to take your house with you and still park in regular sized parking spots was invaluable with 3 kids under 5! read more

we had an absolute blast renting from these guys. We worked with them mostly remotely and was able to schedule late night non traditional contactless pickup and drop off. They were incredibly accommodating with last minute changes. The van itself was exactly what we were looking for, no frills with super comfy beds. it was perfect for a family trip. read more

My family of 4 just spent 12 days exploring the Pacific Northwest in the large Wandervan and it was wonderful. We picked up the van the night before our departure to get it ready after flying from the East Coast. They forgot the kitchen kit but quickly came to the shop to give us one. Overall the van drove nicely, the beds were comfy and there was enough room for us all. I would love for this concept to come to the East Coast. It makes camping and seeing lots of sites easy. BTW we aren't a big camping family but this was a great way of doing it! I highly recommend this camper van to anyone, it was great! Hoping we can do again soon! read more

Chris at Wandervans extended outstanding customer service when the van I had reserved broke down 2 days before pick up. He delivered a trailer for me to use for the week, bringing it to the campsite and picking it up again. I highly recommend booking a camper van with Wandervans. read more

Friends rented one, did not stay in it over night but saw it and it looked good. Looking forward for a chance to try it out someday. Seems like a great bang for the buck and a way to enjoy camping in style without having to buy your own rv if you can't afford one. read more

This company has nice vans, but I would not recommend renting from them based on my experience. I rented a van for a weekend, and was charged $400 for a broken taillight cover and a dent after the owner accused me of getting into an accident and not notifying him. I have no idea if the damage was done prior to the rental, or after I returned the van to the unattended parking lot, but I was ultimately charged over $1,000 for three nights. I have rented from numerous rental car companies and Cruise America and never had a similar problem (or similarly poor customer service). I like to support small businesses, but can't recommend this business. read more
