Had a fabulous time with our group of 8 total and our guide Brian. He brought us through the back alleys and narrow streets of Barcelona and kept us off the touristy main streets, and peppered the tour with lots of interesting tidbits about the city, the history of Catalunya, the food culture in Barcelona, and himself! The pace was perfect -- a great combination of eating, walking, touring, and photospots so just when you were getting full, you had the opportunity to have a little walk to work up an appetite for the next stop. We went to at least 5 separate eateries (although I honestly I started losing count), some of them quite historic including the famed 4 Cats cafe. The tour even vetted out the best churros and best chocolate in the city (separate businesses), and brokered a deal that enabled us to try them together! Brian was a delight and in many of the restaurants, clearly knew the staff and owners -- this was great as it made us feel like VIPs and also gave us some insight into the history of the business -- some of them had been open and family run for many years! And weirdly -- even though Brian is American-born -- I felt that to be a plus: he was able to answer some of the more "basic" questions I might have been uncomfortable asking to a local, and given his time spent living in Spain thus far, I felt like he was still able to give us a really down-to-earth, local introduction to the city. Due to the size of the group, we only went to places where they could make reservations and seat a large group in a private back room. So we didn't visit any truly hole-in-the-wall places, but all the food was good so we didn't really mind. I will say this tour is possibly better for the beginning of your visit to Spain rather than the end. My partner and I had visited San Sebastian prior to Barcelona, and so many of the foods Brian was "introducing" like boquerones and croquettes we had already enjoyed and indulged in many times before. read more

I heard about the food tour from a friend who highly recommended. The Savor Spain food tour was the highlight of my trip to Barcelona. It combined amazingly delicious food, mini-history and cultural lessons, and awesomely curated walking tour of the city. Originally I had signed up for the food tour to eat good food and drink good wine, but I got so much more. I ended up seeing parts of the city that I had not originally planned on seeing. I really enjoyed the walking part of the tour, it was really helpful to get in a little bit of exercise in between all that eating! It was so helpful to have a knowledgeable guide tell me all these cool facts and stories about Barcelona. Our guide Blanca was THE BEST and she was what made the tour experience worth it. Born to Eat tour with Wanderbeak - Highlight of our trip!!! My wife and I have been traveling through several countries in Europe on a cruise over the past 2+ weeks, having taken more than a dozen tours along the way, and the Born to Eat tour thru Wanderbeak was our last tour of the trip as we head home tomorrow morning. And we saved the best for last. This tour was fantastic and the highlight of our vacation. Anie was a great guide. Very knowledgeable, fun and entertaining. What a food tour. We chose the extensive 4.5 hour tour, which was worthwhile. We learned not only about popular food dishes but the history of areas and food patrons around the Gothic Quarter. We received a lot of information and did a lot of walking, but afterwards you will notice and see things through out the rest of your visit that you would never have noticed before. My team had an excellent experience on the Modernism & Michelin Tour. The tour guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and as enthusiastic about the city as we were. The places we stopped to sample and finally have dinner were of excellent quality and enjoyed by all. We had to make several changes at the last minute and the Wanderbreak tour company was incredibly helpful and flexible with us. Wanted to do a tapas and drink tour in Barcelona for a group of 14. This tour came up and I was glad we went with them. Communication was awesome between Marwa and myself. They set us up for a private tapalicious tour to start at 6pm. Price point was fair at approx $82 per person. No hidden charges. All inclusive of food and drinks. The starting location was easy to find and we were met right away by our guide Blanca and another helper guide. Blanca was pleasant and very cheerful and informative. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. Our group is not easy to please, but she captured all of our attention and showed us a great time. Her English was pretty good. We had drinks and food at a total of 4 locations. The places were not terribly far apart and was nice too have a short break in between. Our most favorite spot was the second place. We had vermouth and wine there. Great fun all around. Best food was at the third stop where we had pintchos. We were adequately folk by the end of the tour and pretty buzzed. Great selection of different items and we really did get to experience the different cuisines of Spain. We were a Really loud group and it made the night even better. I would hesitate to recommend this tour you anyone. read more

Summary - lots of food, great guide, very informative and mostly delicious beyond belief! If you're interested in the details, read on... Just took this tour today and it wasn't at all what I expected - it was WAY BETTER!! Living in Oklahoma, I expected the tour to consist of several little appetizer tastings followed by a final meal at the end of the tour. Instead, we left each of the 6-7 stops feeling completely full and walking through the beautiful streets of Barcelona between one stop to the other to help digest to create room for the next meal! I should mention that I'm quite the eater - I eat more than you'd expect me to eat and pretty much the definition of a bottomless pit lol. I heard the tour had a lot of food but didn't think it would really apply to me... but I definitely needed to crash after it was over since I certainly over-ate. Also, it's prudent to mention your drinks are completely covered (I also got to a point where I couldn't even finish my glass of water bc I was just so full!) The best part of the tour was the guide. She really had done her research and answered all my (very very many) questions. Her enthusiasm really shined throughout the walk and you could tell she loved what she was doing which made listening to her that much more interesting and enjoyable. We got history, politics, geography and even a bit of comedy! Not to mention the food was phenomenal!!! I've been to Barcelona a couple of times before and had some terrible food at the touristy spots. This was like nothing else - we went to places I wouldn't have ever come across on my own (and I'm very Internet savvy - I usually research top restaurants and read reviews before going out for dinner anywhere). I'd recommend it for all ages, whether it's you're first time visiting Barcelona or you've been here many times... I went on one of their tours with Marwa as my guide and it was an incredible experience. Everything from the food, the stories, the history and most important the company. It felt like you were hanging with friends you just made, eating incredible food and learning about the history of the city. My favorite part of our trip to Barcelona! It's a beautiful city but easy to get lost and know what is good and what is another tourist stop. We took the Food of Spain tour and the tour guide, Hope, was very sweet and knowledgeable. We saw they keep the tour groups small, but we ended up being the only two there and had an amazing time. Because of the tour we were able to expand our trip and feel more comfortable getting lost in the the neighborhoods. Barcelona is amazing, but can be overwhelming to eat in. This tour takes you through what a typical Spaniard would eat in a day all over the country and takes you off the beaten path. Also, the tour includes a lot of the history and discussion of architecture and art around the city. If we could, we would have taken all the tours the company has to offer! Hands down the best food and drinks tour my wife and I have ever been on! Brian is a phenomenal guide. IF I could give 10 stars I wouldn't even think twice. You can tell from the way they run the tour, that they have an absolute passion for it. We tried amazing tapas, from places that were so good, we actually went back for another bite the next day. And don't hesitate to ask for recommendations as they are very well versed in the area. Not only do you get amazing food and drinks, you get a bit of history along with looking for little "easter eggs" that were left behind from over the ages. The tour officially ended with a wine tasting, but everyone had such an amazing time we went out for drinks after! I would not hesitate to book any of the tours they offer at all.
