We kicked off the new year at Wamesit for my husband's birthday. Overall it was ok. Not the best but not the worst. Our waitress wasn't the greatest. I had ordered the Alpha Dog which comes with fries AND a side Caesar salad, instead they subbed the fries for the salad. With the exception of the fish and chips everything was good. Unfortunately my husband hated the fish and chips. It was too greasy and heavy. He barely touched it and our waitress didn't even notice. The game section of Wamesit was pretty disappointing. More than half the games were out of order. However the bowling was awesome. We did find the bathrooms to be rather messy and in need of cleaning up. We will probably give them a second chance but we hope they make some improvements. read more

Stopped in on a Wednesday evening at 6:20 to bowl with a date. Was told all the regular lanes were taken for league night, but that I was welcome to a VIP lane (at $65/hour!) Since we were already there, I said that was fine, but then I was told I had to go online to reserve the lane, even though I was standing right next to the hostess station. After wasting 5 minutes of my time logging in, entering my birthday, email etc, I was able to reserve a lane for 6:30. Getting into the VIP room, I noticed it was mostly deserted, with just three lanes in use, and it stayed that way for the entire hour we were there. It's ridiculous that you can't get a VIP lane from the hostess, the excuse I was given was that, "someone could be online reserving a lane right now, and we don't want to double book." read more

After being overcharged and going through a lot of red tape. The manager understood and gave me a gift card for the full amount I was overcharged. In the future watch the total on your tab. I wanted to share my experience from my recent visit to Wamesit on January 26 to watch the AFC Championship game. While I appreciated the number of TVs available, I was disappointed to find that there was no sound during the game. It was quite surprising for a venue of your stature, especially during such a big game. As a result, my friends and I decided to leave and head to another local restaurant/bar. Stuck in Tewksbury on a Sunday and wanted to waste some time watching the NFL playoffs. Decided on Firewater Tavern because I knew they had plenty of space and a bunch of televisions. I ordered a Guinness and a small nachos with grilled chicken. The nachos were ready in 5 min, which had me skeptical. The chicken was cold, dry and flavorless. The chips could have used some salt. As a first time visiter, I was very impressed! We played 10 pin bowling, which was maybe $40 for an hour. I think the price is pretty decent for the atmosphere. I had a really nice time bowling. The lane server was attentive although we only got drinks, and the jokes and fun facts on the screen kept me asking my husband if he read it too lol. The hour was plenty of time for 3 rounds, but we only went with 2 people. The food looked and smelled good, but we had just eaten. I would love to try the food next time. Afterward, we went to the arcade and had a blast! I hadn't been to an arcade in years, but we both hit jackpots on a few games, used the Photo Booth to take some funny pictures, played air hockey, Mario Kart, carnival games, and plenty of other fun things! Food was very good, nice portions and cooked very well. Chicken was moist, salmon was excellent as were the sides. It was a busy night as usual so the service was a bit slow to be expected. Not a fan of leaving a review on yelp but it has been a week since I messaged Wamesit privately. My family of 4 went for what was supposed to be a fun family day on Columbus Day. They were not ready for how busy it was. Candlepin was full, so we had to do Ten Pin. We were looking to order food while we bowled. After about 15 minutes of bowling we hit the service required button. We finally got the attention of the 1 server on duty for all 30 or so lanes. We ended up ordering some slushies for the kids and that's it. We couldn't imagine what the wait would have been if we ordered food. We ended up going across the street to the 99. Halfway through our second game the pins broke for 15 minutes. No one checked in to see if we were all set even after we hit the maintenance required button. We have been to Wamesit quite a few times, but it might be the last. We will be going to Kings in Burlington for now on. read more

Don't bother complaining when you have a problem. Responses to any issues are met with generic unhelpful comments. I called them to discuss an issue (they recommended in the following post), and they just said they were sorry and we should come again because they've made improvements. After reading other posts of people getting screwed out of money and services, I won't be coming back. "We went the day after Christmas before 5 so the pricing was cheaper. When we got there we were informed it was holiday pricing even though it didn't state it on the website, door, or at the counter. Found this place after leaving another that didn't serve us. We were traveling and hungry. We expected a bar and grill and found a really cool place! This restaurant, Fire Water Tavern, is inside/ part of a bowling alley and arcade. There is a large area for outdoor seating. Games everywhere. Seems like a fun place to hang out! If we werent just passing through, we would've loved to stay longer. It seemed quiet for a friday evening. We were seated quickly. Rachel came over shortly and got us started with drinks. She was pleasant and attentive. We started with Mozzarella sticks. They arrived really fast and were very good!! After reading some iffy reviews, we started to question our decision, but we were proved wrong. The chicken bites, although simple, were really good. The fries were tasty, crisp and salty. My buffalo chicken flatbread was a pleasant surprise! The crust was crisp on the bottom bit soft on top. Lots of melty cheese, blue cheese sauce and chicken on top. I actually really like it here but the price to bowl is insane. My friend and I came here over the weekend to bowl and when we asked how much it would be for the two of us to bowl for one hour they told us $42! WHAT?? We opted not to bowl. They do have a sizable arcade with some really cool games. We rode on motorcycles. We drove race cars. The best one was this virtual reality booth that you sit in and can pick between going on a roller coaster, being in the ocean etc. It's the best one there. Don't skip this one. I put 25 bucks on a card and when that was done it was time for drinks. here's also a bar there that we had it over to. We both got drinks. She got a beer and I got a rum and Diet Coke which was a really nice pour and tasted good. I didn't get the bartenders name but he was awesome. Very personable and quick with our drinks. We both got food I got a burger which was absolutely delicious and she loved her fish and chips. Also, the bar had an incredible amount of TVs and a huge screen too. Would be awesome to watch the Bruins on!! Right next to the bar on the side of the building is a big outdoor space. Oh my God it's incredible. Tons of seating and lots of tables have an umbrella to shield you from the sun. Looks like they have some tournaments out here too. I've gone there a handful of times, always an issue. Went with my youngest yesterday, 12/26/2023. Had to wait for a lane. Not an issue. Got a text my lane was ready. Went up to the desk and the girl literally ignored me. Kept helping next customer in line. I had to rudely interrupt. Get our lane and 15 mins in, the lane breaks. First of all they have melon head on draft!! And they have so much to do between golf, bowling and arcade, plus now an awesome outdoor area. However this was over run by kids when I was there so I sat at the bar. I love how it has kind of a Mohegan vibe here. I got a Cobb salad which was not that great, over cooked chicken and literally three dots of blue cheese I mean cmon! Give a girl some cheese! Service in the restaurant in 2024 has been awful! Waitstaff is lazy, careless, and poorly trained. Kids at the host desk just standing around talking and texting. They seat you and then forget to alert waitstaff, so you sit for 15 minutes while waitstaff just walk by and ignore you. We were frequently forgotten about by waitresses who had bigger tables. One waitress abandoned us out on the patio in the dark and was found leaning against a wall watching people bowl! Our appetizer was very late and came out with our meal ( we sent it back ) our order was screwed up, drinks never refilled. Our waitress Annalyse did'nt care about us because she was making a bigger tip at another table. We filed a complaint with management and the owner, and they never responded. I see many other similar complaints on here about terrible service. Management ignores complaints sent by email, yet they respond on here to reviews asking you to contact them at the same email address they ignore! Obviously they are just trying to look good on Yelp, but they actually don't care at all. We have been long time residents of Tewksbury, and my best friend went to school with the owner. He contacted him and was ignored as well. This place started good but it's gone downhill over the past few years. The staff is now mostly young kids who are clueless, lazy, and bad attitudes. It's time to ditch the kids and get in some mature adults who know something about good customer service and respect the customers! Karaoke contest was horrible. They awarded bad and mediocre singers- people who were in the in crowd or had alot of friends versus people who actually had nice voices and performed well. Stopped in for dinner last night. Sat at the bar and had to wait15 min to order drinks and dinner. Another 10 minutes later still no drink. We asked the waitress she apologized and said she forgot. She then brought us an incorrect drink order. Said she was going to get them. As we watched her make other drinks we still waited. Dinner came and at that time since we still did not have our drink order we told her to forget the drinks. She must have called the manager to cancel the drinks off the tab. I would have expected the manager to apologize for the inconvenience but nothing. I honestly think that the waitress was stressed as there were only 2 behind the bar and they were filling orders for the entire establishments guests. As for the food the buns were cold like they just came out of the refrigerator and seemed like it may have been sitting for a bit in the back waiting for server to deliver. I have tried to bowl twice here with my 2 young kids. The first time I tried it was a Sunday afternoon and it was a 2 hour wait. I scrapped the bowling idea, no big deal. We went to the arcade section which my kids enjoyed. Next, I tried going on a Wednesday evening, but again, I was told all the empty candle pin lanes were being reserved for leagues later and I would have to wait 2 1/2 hours. No where did it say on their website or Facebook page when their league hours were or i would have not even tried to go with 3 kids. This place is interesting, its like Dave and Busters, Kings Bowling, and A Jake n Joes all mixed together. A nice clean place, I've been here twice this month and enjoyed it. Bowling is fun, sometime my friends will play with the little balls, but we love the big balls. When it cools down a bit, we'll try out the outdoor patio. It looks like it goes from the front of the building to around the backside of the restaurant area. I like the group room, looks great for bigger groups of 10 or more. I honestly do not understand the negative reviews. This family fun center delivered good appetizers (the Philly cheese steak egg rolls and Southwest chicken egg rolls were excellent, and the BBQ pulled pork-topped nachos were delicious, if a bit messy and gigantic), a fine selection of beers and cocktails, and, in my experience, generally friendly staff. It was a bit of a wait for bowling, but 90 minutes on a Saturday evening doesn't seem outrageous. In the Firewater Tavern, our server (Khristine or Khrista, perhaps?) was lovely, friendly and attentive, and the tab for six adults -- an appetizer each and at least a couple drinks apiece -- came to about $22 a person. Reasonable. On the lanes, our server, a different woman, was less personable, but still right on the drinks. She earned a $20 cash tip on a $64 bar tab, as she was extremely busy. True, the bowling was pricey, but the facility is massive and well kept up. No complaints there. I don't golf or play video games, so I can't comment on those aspects of Wamesit Lanes. Slightly better food might have netted a fifth star, but this is really a 4.5. A fun, somewhat townie, vibe but, as a country boy, that is fine by me. Generally attractive, frequently tattooed, staff on the young side. If you're kind of a "high touch" customer, I could see how staff when extremely busy might seem aloof or curt, but if you're self-sufficient and can convey your needs concisely, you should be fine. read more

Coming from Atlanta, to Tewksbury is a big change, and heading out with friends who bowl on Mondays was quite a blast. This looks like a new place, huge, has 10 pin and candlestick bowling ( I have never seen that!!) , a huge game room , then a nice restaurant and bar. Mostly bar type food, but I had a great Fried haddock sandwich and fries, the burgers are large and if you order MR, they're juicy too!! I've been here twice now with 8 then 4 of us this last time and enjoyed it all. Cold beer and full bar, nice staff. The costs did not seem that high to me on food, so reading other reviews I had no problem with the value, and the locals who you can tell are here weekly. I love coming to Wamesit lanes!! But every time im at the 10 pin bowling lanes I never get service. A server is supposed to come over and ask us if we need food/drink and my whole hour and other times 1.5 hours or more I usually don't get service. I tonight thought I had a longer waiting time but it changed to only 25 minutes so I was not able to order food. Which is fine!! So I finished bowling and went to the bar because they were closing the kitchen soon. I then was not served AT THE BAR until the intercom said "the kitchen is now closed" It has been an issue time and time again with the service while it is great, it is inconsistent. read more
