As a Yelp Elite All Star I noticed that the most current YELP review for this pool was a one star review based solely on what this person thought the price should be for entry for her & her kids & her comparison to North Park Pool. First off Cranberry Township Waterpark, offers more than just a pool. It has a very large kids area with large kiddie pool, water dump bucket, splash pad & preschool water sliding board. It has a dedicated lap swim lane at all times. It has a waterside, low diving board, water tunnel sliding board, water climbing wall, sand volleyball court, grassy play areas, concession stand with large variety of foods, drinks & desserts & bathrooms with showers & changing rooms. There are giant umbrellas for shade, and many lounge & some Adirondack chairs. You can get water wings, or life vests for your kids there if needed. This is not a county pool like North Park Pool. NPP is run by the county. Cranberry is run by the township (not Butler County) & managed & staffed by high school kids. YES, the prices ARE higher than Allegheny County & City pools: 2025 Daily Admission Rates Residents: $11 Non-Resident: $16 Children: 2 - 12 years old Resident:$10 Non-Resident: $14 Children under 2: FREE 55+ Senior Resident: $10 Non-Resident: $14 Twilight Rates (after 6 p.m.) Resident: $8 Non-Resident: $10 Tuesday Night Swims: 9-11 p.m. Members: FREE Non-Members: $8 But that gives ZERO reason to diss this beautiful waterpark & all it has to offer. The lines for all rides were moving fast, 5-10 minutes at the most. I love that all the rides are geared for smaller kids. We weren't interested in any of the water rides, so I have no comments on that part of the park. But everything else was very enjoyable and nice! Staff was amazing, very caring and polite.

A day pass is $60. I know that's not the norm and most people buy a season pass, but there's nothing worth $60 there. The slides are fun, but we went on the 4th of July and the two yellow slides and the speed slide were closed. Also, the cocktail bar on the boardwalk was closed as well with some other food options not running either. There's not an abundance of rides, so when multiple are closed, you are disappointing your customers. Aesthetically, the park needs updated. Walking around and seeing areas with overgrown weeds and weeds coming up from under the boards just says "we don't care". The landscaping used to be pristine and now it's either just mulch or overgrown weeds. At the lazy river, the containers for shoes had some very gross mold or something all along the bottom, so we didn't put our shoes there. On some of the building walls by the lazy river, there was mold or something growing on them. Simple power washing can fix these things. People want to walk through and feel like you care about their experience. The "bar" had frozen drink machines that just didn't freeze all day and the worker even said "if you want something of a frozen consistency, you are not going to get it" and then continued selling watery non-frozen drinks from the machine and pouring some alcohol in. For $16 a drink, I passed. Sandcastle could be amazing, but the owners need to add new attractions, make sure rides and food stands are open for people and keep the area clean. It felt dirty in many places when we walked around. Lastly, whoever is in control of the music piping through the park needs a different job. The music was awful on repeat all day.

The staff is always friendly and genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which makes the experience even better. If you plan on visiting more than once during the summer, I highly recommend getting a season pass. It's a great value since it can be used at both Sandcastle and Kennywood. Overall, Sandcastle is a fantastic place to spend a summer day with family and friends, and I highly recommend it!

Taking him there has gotten him on a more social level than just running around our yard. Also I can walk him around the park and let him be as active as he should be. Food They have a snack bar with the typical food you would expect (hotdogs, nachos, pretzels, popcorn) you can purchase a cup and/or a popcorn bucket for $5 a piece and get refills all summer for $1. Pool The pool is amazing! Perfect place to bring children with two kids areas. The have a small rock climbing wall in the deep end by the diving boards. Three slides, one of which is very tall. Children 12 and under can take a swim test to be allowed to swim in the deep end and go on the diving boards and rock climbing wall. You are allowed to bring floating things like noodles etc. which was really nice. You can only bring goggles that don't have the nose part (scuba goggles?) regular goggles are okay. The deep end is 5ft and the diving area is 12ft. I believe I saw that they rent out life vests for children and they also sell swimming diapers. Adult Swim Depending on how you feel about this it will either be good or bad. At the start of every hour they make all of the children get out of the pool for 15 minutes. The only people allowed in the pool are adults and children under 5 who are accompanied by an adult within arms reach. Seating They have chairs that you can use with foot rests and little tables but you have to get here pretty early to get one unless you see someone leaving you can take theirs. I would recommend bringing chairs and blankets to sit and relax on. There is plenty of space to spread out and not be right next to someone else on the grass. They have a few covered areas that you can set up at if there is space left. They also have 2 covered picnic table areas with 4 picnic tables (although I'm sure those fill up fast) Parks We don't have children so we didn't go to the parks but it looked like there was a lot to do and that it was well maintained. Crowds We went on a Sunday and there were a lot of people there but it didn't feel "crowded". We had to wait in line to get snacks but when we wanted a drink or popcorn refill there was a separate line which was nice. Conclusion- we will defiantly be back it was a great day!

Living in the city it was nice to make a mini trek to the pool for something different. I've been known to swing by when home for visits as well. The pool is huge with lots of space to sprawl out and hang out on a towel or blanket when not in the water. Very well taken care of.

The pool is dated, yet the water is clean. There is a small playground. A three picnic table on a single roof. The restrooms and shower rooms(shared shower area) is clean yet dated. Over all we are pleased with the staff's service and this place :) Our little ones had a blast too. We will definitely visit gain.

Reviewing things in 2020 is, well, a little strange. If you're like me, you aren't exactly rushing…read moreout to the places we normally review. Instead, Settlers Cabin Park is one of the spots I frequent these days - for exercise, for a literal change in scenery, and to unplug from the current day-to-day of working at home. I want to mention early that part of the beauty of this 1,600+ acre county park is that it was once the site of various coal mines - this gorgeous space has been restored to what you see when you visit it now. Knowing that adds another level of appreciation, at least for me! After its history, the second biggest reason I love Settlers Cabin Park is the number of trails available to use. If you check out their website and maps, you can see an overview of the five or six total trails here. Some of them are on the shorter side, others are longer, and a lot of them directly interconnect at different points. That makes it easy to explore more than one trail in a single visit - one day I started out on the green trail, somehow went far enough to get to the purple trail, and finished the loop back to my car on the blue trail. (I promise, that will make more sense after looking at a map!) There are other things here besides the trails - tennis courts, field hockey, playgrounds, pavilions, wave pools, etc. Interestingly, Settlers Cabin Park is technically also home to the Pittsburgh Botanical Garden, which is another outdoor spot I adore. For the trails alone, I consider Settlers Cabin Park to be my perfect escape these days. I can hike anywhere from 1.5 to 6 miles, at any pace that I want. Bonus points - as long as I don't mind the hilly climbs involved, I can take some time to enjoy the sight and sound of the park's baby waterfall. (Some articles call it a mini waterfall, but given how small it is, I call it a baby!) Any time I spend here is always time well spent, and I'm sure I'll be back again soon.

And honestly, you can't talk about Settlers Cabin without mentioning the picnic groves. I swear, half of my summer weekends over the decades have been spent at a cookout, grad party, or other gatherings with friends at one of those pavilions, eating hot dogs and hamburgers. When my daughter was little I brought her there through her teenage years with her friends. Always a good spot to spend a hot summer day in Pittsburgh.
