We were unable to visit due to the lockdown but the staff reassured her that we wanted to visit just were unable to. Thank you for taking care of her, getting her moving around on her own, and giving her the divinity she deserved. After looking at multiple places, we decided to place my 92 year old dad at Kingsley for short term care. This was our first experience with assisted living, and needless to say we were all anxious that he would have a good experience. He went kicking and screaming. The anxiety quickly melted after our first discussion with the marketing person, and subsequently with all of the care and attention he received from the entire staff. They truly took care of him from their hearts and took him in as family, and eased our minds. When he discharged from their care, several staff members gave him hugs, and he told them he wanted to come and stay again, the best compliment of all. Later, he told me he enjoyed the food, and this man is a finicky eater. I cannot speak highly enough of Kingsley. It's a clean modern facility with an outstanding, very caring staff. God Bless them.

There have been a lot of changes in the management of the property since then. One of the most striking was that the prohibited smoking anywhere in or outside of the building. This concerned a lot of people who are smokers and will now have to find another place to liveIf they so desire. The overall living experience has not changed. I recently moved from Plymouth Park Apts. to my own home. I can Say that my stay at Plymouth Park apartments was very special. The people there are wonderful and I still find myself going back to play cards with a number of the residents. I would recommend living at Plymouth Park Apts. if you feel you cannot take care of a private home.

I had seizure 11 days ago and lost use of left side of my body. At first I spent 6 days at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, but needed to be transferred to a rehab facility to learn continue my recovery. Don't get me wrong half the staff is awesome but the other half(mostly made up of techs their words) are horrible. I don't feel safe and I'm not the only one. Been here 5 days now and it has only gotten worse the more I witness.

A wonderful lady directs classes that help her gain and maintain arm and hand strength by exercising with pool noodles. Or, taking turns swatting a balloon with a pretty fly swatter back and forth. Her mind stays sharp with word games played in occupational therapy sessions three times a week. I love observing our Aunt read the the answers off of a large white board. My mom finally understood that she could not live alone & moved in December 2023 to the Assisted Living level of care. Mom is very happy. She lived in Plymouth & wanted to stay in the city so WCP is a good fit. The Executive & Pastry Chefs are a good fit for me when I take a meal with her With weather challenges, it's nice to share a meal with her & the friends she has made in the very short time she has lived at WCP. Everyone can choose to be busy like my mom with four scheduled activities every day. My mom loves that her day begins with exercise & often doesn't return to her room until just before dinner to freshen up! I have peace of mind that my mom is happy & in an environment that provides her appropriate oversight, choice & challenge.

The meals have been well-prepared, the chef works hard to make them appear/taste appealing. In spite of the hardships brought on by the pandemic, and the related staffing issues, our needs have always been met by the maintenance crew, dining crew, activities crew and administration. The building and grounds have been maintained as usual. It has a friendly atmosphere that most residents appreciate.

I'm writing this review for the sole purpose of warning people that this is not the place to put…read moreloved ones if they are infirm and need constant care. My dad was in here for 4 weeks and it was one issue after another until my family promised each other that we would never return my dad here. The staff smiles to your face and then neglects the patient. My dad went in with no wounds on his body- and came out with a stage 4 (the worst) bedsore that is requiring surgery, and a stage 2 bedsore, meaning they were not turning him often enough. And for them to let it get that bad and not tell us? Untenable! They were basically lying to us. It took a bout of pneumonia and a bacterial infection to send my dad back to the hospital for us to find this out. And I'll spare you the details of the bacterial infection, but the hospital told us it was because they were not keeping him clean. Couple that with they have a "two hour window" for medications- they had my dad on a roller coaster of consciousness, not what was needed to get my dad home to heal. What galls me the most is that I personally went and had a meeting with the staff and the social worker to make sure we were all on the same plan for my dad. Every single one of his care givers said that they understood and would work to get him home. Instead- he ended up in a hospital with sores on his body that I hope no one ever has to see on someone they love. We chose this home knowing it wasn't at the top of the list, but because only a handful of places take patients with trach tubes it was one of our limited choices that was nearby where my mother was. And because the staff seemed so nice, so caring. And know that it isn't cheap- it runs about $2000 more a month than other homes we looked at. I guess you really "don't get what you pay for". The Medicare website lists this as a "below average" nursing home. Wish I had seen that website before I allowed my loved one to ever cross the threshold of this place. Beware!

My grandfather was able to walk with assistance after he was discharged from U of M hospital. He was admitted to Heartland and did not see a physical therapist for 5 days. He deteriorated after that and has not gained back the strength that he had. They also stuck him in adult briefs so they wouldn't have to get him up to bathroom. My grandpa is alert and oriented so this was demeaning to him. Finally, trying to talk to a doctor is IMPOSSIBLE! I called and called and called and never got a call back. There is no communication there. Nurses don't know what physical therapy is doing and vis versa. I know there are not a lot of good nursing facilities out there but don't send your loved one here..
