If you love living in an apartment where you can clearly hear your upstairs neighbor then please sign up for a year long lease. You will without a doubt enjoy every footstep your neighbor takes, hear every door they close, and also be privileged to hear conversations and the tragic sound of what we thought was an animal possibly in the midst of dying but only to figure out that it was just the neighbor having awful sex. At first we thought, boy did we get lucky in living beneath a shitty neighbor but having conversations with other residents that share the same sentiments I'm not so sure it's all the neighbors fault. read more

Before I continue with my review, I would like to preface saying that I've worked in the multifamily industry for over 4 years in different capacities. I live in the largest one bedroom floorplan and I've lived here since the beginning of August. That said, of all the companies I've worked with, Walton Westside continued to surprise me with the level of service I've received from them. Aside from the absolutely spectacular amenities (valet trash service, fitness center, pool, DRY CLEAN\wash and fold service, pet care center, CULTURAL ENRICHMENT, etc), I've witnessed nothing but awesome service and consistency. I consider myself to be an especially tough critic when it comes to property management, and I could not be happier. Walton Westside's building and ground are amazing. The attention to detail in the design gives character normally scene in older designer homes to this new building. However, beautiful buildings are a dime a dozens in the Atlanta market. What sets Walton aside is the service. In the time I've lived here, I've received notifications of every fire alarm test, been notified of any issues in the area. My very few (2) work orders I've place were handled in a very timely manner. In addition to that, Walton offers discounted tickets to local events from time to time, a FREE book every month, and a number of resident events. The Walton company does things I have never seen in the industry and it truly sets them apart. John Ibsen, our leasing consultant continues to offer great service through follow up and attention to detail. I would mention the traffic in my area. However, if you're going to live in Atlanta, complaining about traffic is already a moot point. In fact, the ONLY issue I personally have is that I wish the froyo place that is behind us offered more flavors. read more

We've lived here since it first opened, and have never regretted it. The units are well laid out with quality finishes. Really nice spaces. You don't feel like your moving into another dingy apartment. The staff is flexible, and they sincerely want to make you happy (definitely not the case with most other apts). Fire alarm issue mentioned in other reviews seems resolved and they worked hard to fix it. The maintenance is the best - extremely prompt and thorough. The property has dealt well with any security concerns. There haven't been any issues in some time. On the Westside, this apartment has the best location as well as staff and apt units/amenities. The other folks living here are nice/courteous. Lots of young professionals. Tips: Consider noise when choosing your unit. Being right next to the train or huff rd can be noisy. We're on the courtyard and have no problem with noise The lower floors' parking levels can get crowded. If you're on 3/4 especially you may have to go higher up to park. read more

We have loved living at Walton Westside and are so sad to be leaving. The staff are so friendly and helpful, I loved knowing everyone from the leasing office team, the amazing handy man Ronald who helped me probably way to many times around my apartment and the security guards who always made an effort to introduce themself. Everyone knows us by name including my daughter who frequently stops at the leasing office just to get chocolate. The decoration and design takes it up a level in comparison to other apartment buildings and they really do a great job on having community events. After 3 years we say good bye but still plan to pop by to our favorite coffee shop which is in the walton building. Thanks for everything- you guys have been amazing. We will miss you all. read more

We've lived at Walton Westside for almost seven months and have loved every minute of it. I work from home and spend most of my hours commuting from the gorgeously designed club room, to the functional and spacious gym and to my apartment, which is the smallest floorplan with the best view. The only issue we've run into is that we'd like to get a dog but don't want to give up our top floor apartment. I hope that policy changes! Walton Westside staff has been helpful, gracious and thoughtful, communicating well with work orders, especially when we moved in, and always saying hello around the property. Every time we have guests, they can't believe our apartment and the amenities in our building. I've loved living here and truly never want to leave! Thanks, WW! read more

I wrote my original review on Sunday after the fire alarm went off Saturday night. The office emailed the entire community to let us know they replaced all smoke detectors and that we should hopefully not have any more false alarms. Wellllll three days later the fire alarms went off again early this morning, around 1am. Definitely frustrating. I could hear other tenants talking about considering not evacuating the building anymore because it's such a hassle and it happens so frequently. Hopefully more people will reach out to the management team or write negative Yelp reviews until something changes. Original post is below..... I really want to love living at Walton Westside... Pros- Amazing location within walking distance to Westiside Provision District. Super friendly security guards 24/7. Beautiful view from the rooftop. Cons- Traffic on Howell Mill and Huff is terrible. Then add on the construction at Westside Provisions district. Our apartment was dirty and smelly when we moved in. As we cleaned we swept up dog hair throughout the apartment. When we contacted the front office they told us they could assure us that previous tenants did not have a dog. The worst part has to be the fire alarm issues. Since we moved in in November we have had at least 6 fire alarms go off in the middle of the night (plus a few others during the day.) It is very frustrating to wake up to the loud alarms then rush outside to stand in your pajamas and wait for the firemen to come to let you know it's once again a false alarm. On top of that when contacting the office about the issue there was never an apology or plan of action to remedy the issue. Instead we get mass emails about how frustrated they are as well and an explanation that the fire alarm is in fact working properly. So, I definitely do not recommend living at Walton Westside. read more

Never in my life have I ever felt more unwelcomed. And I'm paying you money? Ridiculous. If you're looking for a complex to dish money out for Parking 3 levels above your floor, to deal with a snobby front desk, then Walton Westside is the place for you! Sure, the apartments look nice, but obviously poorly made. My carpet is coming up, mind you i am the first person to live in this unit, & first week living here, my cabinet fell off the wall! I'm okay with wear & tear, but the complete rudeness & the feeling of "you don't belong here," is not something you should allow your CUSTOMER to feel. It looks nice and has a nice view, but if plan on ever leaving your apartment dont move here. This 250 unit apartment complex shares a two lane street shared by 3 businesses. Then to another two lane street to get to howell mill. This street is used by the traffic to the three businesses and used by scores of people. The traffic is already bad. As more people move into these apts traffic will be worse. read more

I loved living at Walton Westside! I was there for a little over two years and would have stayed longer if I wasn't getting married and buying a house with my fiancé. Mary Bob, Ashley, Amanda and the rest of the staff are fantastic and take awesome care of the residents. They really listen and care and want to help, which is so rare at apartment complexes/ The grounds and property are well cared for and nicely maintained. I never had any issues with security or felt unsafe. All the amenities are fabulous - I miss the pool and gym already. Loved Walton Westside and highly recommend it!! read more

I moved in at the beginning of July and have nothing but positives to say. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The maintenance staff takes care of requests within hours of me putting them in. The entire staff makes a point of knowing your name and greeting you, making sure everything is going well. The amenities are top notch. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoy using the gym and upstairs grill. And the dogs LOVE the dog run!!!! I work in midtown so the location is perfect for the commute and being able to walk across the parking lot on Friday evening for a cocktail or two and listen to live music at JCT is perfect. I could not be happier with my decision to rent at Walton Westside. read more

Since moving here in September, I have loved every second. The management is super friendly and very professional, keeping residents well informed on any happenings. The groundkeepers/watch guards are very friendly and super helpful as well. The views are incredible and the location is superb. It's wonderful to be able to walk to all of the great shops at Westside Provisions and also be within a 5 minute driving distance to some of Atlanta's best restaurants. The rooftop is amazing and the club room is a beautiful area to work in. With Chattahoochee Coffee Company newly opened, it's hard to beat! I also love the interior of the apartment itself, with pretty grey walls, nice marble counter tops, subway tile in the kitchen and bathroom, and plenty of storage. Certainly different than the two apartments I had lived in beforehand in Buckhead (one being a high-end Post property). Though you can hear your neighbor occasionally stomp above you, I definitely cannot hear anything else coming from any of my neighbors (and I live on a middle floor). You do hear hallway noise, but I would expect that at any complex. It's actually the quietest apartment complex I have lived in in my 5 years in Atlanta. The only reason I would ever want to leave is due to my own personal work commute. Otherwise, you might have to drag me out! Walton Westside truly is the best. read more

For an urbanite, like myself, Walton Westside is a great apartment complex for city living. The property is diverse in residents, the apartments are modern and specious; and the amenities are marvelous. The common areas were always clean. One thing that I found appealing that even though it is off a major road, Howell Mill, the complex was kind of tucked behind the Westside district. That is what sold me on it, because it was in the city, but it was quiet- I never had any issues with noise. There was never a time that I did not feel safe residing at the property. This is the first place in five years that I did not feel the need to have an intrusion alarm in my unit. The customer service that I received was exceptional. The office staff was always courteous, prompt and resourceful from my initial inquiry about the property and all the way til I moved out. Anytime I placed a service request, whether it was small or large, it was always addressed instantaneously. I really enjoyed living at the property and highly recommend it to anybody that is looking to reside within the city. read more

I recently moved out of state but one of the things I miss most about Atlanta is living at Walton Westside! I spent one full year living at Walton - I loved the location, the facilities and most importantly the people there. The management staff is simply wonderful - always communicating and reacting to any and all concerns in a timely manner. I never had to wait more than 24 hours from notice of an issue for a resolution and MaryBob, the property manager, was always a pleasure to work with. The property offers several community events a month and although I only attended a handful of them it was a great feeling to know I was living in a caring place with an opportunity to meet neighbors throughout the year. The office also has a monthly book club! As an avid reader I loved stopping by once a month to pick up the latest book, something I will truly miss. The pool area, roof deck, outdoor fireplace, community room and gym were all top notch! Location, location, location! I had just moved from New York City so I was looking for a place in Atlanta that had several options within walking distance. Walton's proximity to the Westside Provisioning District was spectacular! I was just a few steps away from great bars, restaurants, a seasonal farmers market and a variety of retail outlets. Overall, an excellent choice. Should my work ever bring me back to Atlanta - I will be sure to live at Walton Westside again! read more

LOVE living here!! The apartment is very nice, the maintenance is quick to address any issue big or small, and the front office is sincerely kind. I think now that this place has spoiled me that I will struggle living in any other apartment complexes. Notable: The gym is amazing! I love TRX ropes and Kettle bells and they have all of it! They also have a virtual trainer if you need a class every now and then. The pool is very peaceful, there is a mature crowd, so don't worry about hanging around college kids playing beer pong. There are cameras all over the parking deck (in the early days they had some break ins and now they have more cameras, 24 hour security guards, and added more protection to each resident's door). They have a cute little dog park area for the pups and a coffee shop that is one of the best in town. The rooftop is to die for, and you can walk to SO MANY fun places (there are new places opening every month so it just keeps getting better and better)! There is traffic on the street near the parking deck at 9am and 3pm because of the school and Huff Road/Howell Mill are busy during peak hours (of course). If there was a grocery store over there I would never leave. 5 stars! read more

I've lived in Walton Westside for over 6 months and absolutely love it. The only reason I docked one star is the fact that you can hear the apartment above you really well. However, I wouldn't use that as a deal breaker considering the many pros to living here. First and foremost, the management staff is unbelievable. I'm shocked at any negative feedback on here about them. Every interaction I've had with any staff member has been positive. It is clear how much they truly care about the residents and they go above and beyond to make your time living there enjoyable. One example (of many) is when someone sent me flowers, but because of my work schedule I could not get to the leasing office in time to pick them up. In response, they hand delivered them to my apartment and set them up on my island (with my permission first). Also, any service requests are handled incredibly quickly, usually within 24 hours. In addition to the incredible service and care provided by the management staff, the apartments themselves are simply gorgeous. The designers really paid attention to detail (example-they put built-in shelves in places that most people would leave just wasted wall space in the kitchen). The kitchens are beautiful with subway tile and granite countertops. Finally, just to add my opinion to people's comments on traffic...if you want to live in a city you have to expect some level of traffic. Yes, the apartment shares a road with businesses and a school but it moves along, it's not a big deal. I never even considered that as an issue. Overall, if you are looking for a community-feel apartment (there are some planned activities and cultural events, in addition to the club room and rooftop terrace), with gorgeous, modern apartments, top quality management staff who care, and a great location close to shops and restaurants, this is the place for you! read more

i've lived at Walton Westside since it opened in July 2014. The building and grounds are very nice and well maintained. The apartments are reasonably spacious as in-town living goes, and nicely done with granite, subway tiles and other contemporary finishes, which is what attracted me to move in. The Walton gives out free books each month, usually spiritually inspired, and has a lot of resident and community-based activities. The leasing agents are very nice and easy to work with. Outside looking in, the Walton APPEARED to be an awesome community. For the first few months, the Walton had some ongoing challenges with the fire alarm system. It was not uncommon to be awakened at 1am or 5am by a fire alarm, often lasting 45 minutes to an hour each time. More often that not, residents were given no advanced notice of fire alarm testing. Between September and December 2014, there were several car break-ins in the visitors parking area and burglaries of apartments. When I inquired with the leasing office whether the Walton planned to add security measures or install cameras on the grounds, I was told that the APD Courtesy Officer would make some "additional rounds" of the property but they had no plans for installing additional security cameras and that "crime happens everywhere in Atlanta". RED FLAG. The "security" that the Walton has hired can regularly been seen sitting in their cars or on folding chairs, intently scrolling through their cell phones, paying zero attention to what's going on. One day, the parking garage gate wasn't going up for a resident who was in front of me. After about 10 minutes, the resident blew the horn of their car to get the attention of the security officer who was literally sitting in his car just 10 steps away, totally clueless to the line of cars that had formed to get into the garage. RED FLAG. On the topic of the parking garage...it's not uncommon to the see the parking garage gate arm broken off and forlornly lying on the ground. Perhaps if the Walton actually cared to install adequate security cameras or beef up security, they could figure out who done it and why....RED FLAG. One resident of the Walton likes to draw penises and obscenities on cars if they are parked in prime parking spaces in the parking garage for too long. I travel a lot so I frequently leave my car in the same space for days. I recently returned from a business trip to discover that my two back tires had been slashed, presumably from the same asshat drawing penises on cars. I reported the incident to the Walton leasing office and property manager and was told that "maybe I should move my car next time" and "there is nothing we can do as crime happens everywhere in Atlanta". I am the VICTIM of a crime on your grounds in a gated area accessible by residents only; I'm out of money as I had to pay to have my car towed and tires replaced; and the Walton couldn't be any less concerned!!! I was barely given an apology for my experience and mostly excuses and the run-around because my car didn't have a sticker on it indicating that it was a resident's car (a sticker that I was never issued, by the way). What does a sticker have to do with another resident slashing my tires over a PARKING SPACE???!!! I contacted the area manager at Walton Communities Corporate office to discuss this issue and she was as unconcerned as the property manager about my tires being intentionally slashed. In fact, she actually sounded as if I was BOTHERING her with my complaints! She told me that *drumroll please* "there is nothing we can do as crime happens everywhere" and that the cameras in the garage are limited and don't capture much. She went on to inform me that the Walton has zero plans to install any additional security cameras in the parking garage or on the rest of the grounds. As Atlanta has crime everywhere, as I've been told multiple times by the good people at the Walton, shouldn't the Walton WANT to have more security?? Unfortunately, the Walton rather spend money to install ceiling fans in the 3x3 foot elevator banks and on flower pots to further beautify the grounds, rather than on adequate security cameras and patrols for resident safety. The APD Courtesy Officer that lives on property never even bothered contacting me about my property being vandalized. On top of all of that, the walls are paper thin so you can literally hear your neighbors' every conversation. Needless to say, I definitely won't be renewing my lease nor do I recommend the Walton Westside based on a clear lack of concern for safety and mitigation of criminal activity. read more

I've lived here for 2 years, and I love it. The only reasons I would ever leave Walton Westside are if I were forced to leave Atlanta for personal or professional reasons, or when I ultimately decide to buy a house. I never want to live in another apartment complex than this one! Apartment seems well-built and have had very few maintenance issues whatsoever. They come in for periodic maintenance (changing air filters, replacing smoke detector batteries, etc.) so I never have to request these things and have never had a major issue. Maintenance is always willing to work with my night-shift schedule. At one time there was an issue with the hypersensitive fire alarms, but management was very responsive and the issue has been resolved for almost a year now. Management genuinely cares about my residential experience and well-being. Staff know my name and are always friendly - feels like family. Communication and responsiveness are excellent. Grounds and apartment are impeccably maintained. Amenities are exceptional. Feels very safe and overall the residents seem to be young professionals like myself. Never had issues with parking close to my apartment, and I love that I can drive up to the floor of my apartment.. no stairs or elevators when I have groceries! I use the gym from time-to-time when I can't get to my usual studio- has more than the usual treadmills.. lots of free training space and kettlebells, too!! Coffee shop is a bonus. Rent isn't cheap, but that's expected based on the location in up-and-coming West Midtown as well as the understandable demand to live in a modern, quality apartment community. Overall I feel it is a good value for what I pay. I'll definitely be renewing for a third year. read more

I have been living here since October 2014 and have really enjoyed it here. First of all the apartment itself is beautiful - whoever was contracted to design these spaces hit the nail on the head - except for the garage which tends to drive me crazy. They were given a blank slate to make the city's best garage and didn't do so well. It is very hard to know if a car will be flying around the corner and there have been many close calls almost once a day. I also HATE that you can not easily turn your car around when you get into the garage instead you have to be in everyone's way, get all the way to a parking spot at the gate, wait for everyone to go by, then get yourself out when they could have easily made a normal kiss-n-ride kind of loop similar to 935M down the street. I also can not stand that I pay so much to live here but need to make sure I am home by 10 or I lose out on a parking spot because I guess they don't manage how many people per unit have cars and it fills up so fast. I either end up on the roof - which is fine if its not pouring out OR i have to park in the visitor's section IF THERE IS EVEN A SPACE THERE. I would rather have an assigned spot in a shitty area and know I have a spot then come home late at night and there be nothing. AND CAN YOU PLEASE PAVE THE POT HOLE THAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DRIVEWAY - LAWD!!!!!!!! I have a 1 bedroom with a balcony that overlooks the pool which to me is a steal especially considering when I toured the complex the woman helping me only showed me a unit that was the same size but no balcony and overlooked huff road where i would have never wanted to open my blinds and would have felt like there was nowhere to go, having the balcony truly made all the difference and made the space so much brighter. I also get the pleasure of hearing the water features in the pool all day and night so it makes it feel like I am at a resort or somewhere other then midtown atlanta. The train does go right by my windows and is only noticable during a crucial point in the tv show or movie i am watching and I have noticed that it's normal schedule is Midnight, 4am, and then various times in the day. I also love how private the unit feels, I can sort of see into other people's windows but with how my unit is positioned they can't really see into mine and it is nice to hear people around the pool every now and then. I LOVE the rooftop and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the grills. I have been so happy to invite my family here every weekend to treat them to a delicious dinner over looking an incredible skyline with beautiful weather and the fact that the tools to cook are provided and they are nice quality with amazing grills and chairs people actually want to sit in because they are so comfortable. I even love when other people are up there with their groups and it turns into it's own cafe up there. It makes the amount I am paying for rent so worth it. I can not get enough of it up there. I have also spent many days enjoying the sun and working on my computer or just bringing my lunch up from my apartment and getting fresh air. I will agree with many of the commenters on here that the floors are pretty thin and it honestly sounds like my neighbors upstairs either go bowling in their living room all day and all night - most specifically 11pm til about 2am EVERY NIGHT or just stand in there kitchen all day and night to see who can open and close their cabinets faster. I do wish the pet policy would change, you have a beautiful little dog park, and great space to go walk the dog, you even spent money on a pet spa on the 5th floor but you charge an arm and a leg to have the dog. It would need it's own job to afford its rent. The sense of community is very nice here. I have been to a few events - New Years on the roof was awesome. I liked that I didn't have to deal with going out in Atlanta, I could just go upstairs, meet great people, play some games, have dinner, over look the entire city, see some fireworks throughout Buckhead and Stone Mountain, etc. I also went to the coffee shop last week for trivia where many of the same people came to and it was nice to catch up and get to know them again, dinner was provided and it was a really fun night. I am looking forward to the cookout around the pool next week. I also love that I can work from home but never feel like I have to be in my apartment all day, I can go on the roof, I can go to the club room up there, either courtyard, by the pool, by the fireplace at the pool, or to the new coffee shop - which is beautiful, although very overpriced. If it is open to the public then residents should get a discount. Or they should have real sizes for their coffees. Dancing Goats, which is not far from here is just as delicious, cheaper, and has a normal small and a large that is worth its price. I was told the shop here is doing European standards for sizes but we are in Atlanta, not Europe, and it shouldn't cost so much for so little. read more

This place is so wonderful! Every time I go up to the front office I'm greeted with a smile, even the maintenance guy I see around always makes it a habit to say hello and to ask how I'm doing. The apartments themselves are beautiful and the clubroom, the court yard and the other facilities are as well. I've seen some bad reviews about the noise and "paper thin walls". In regard to that, yes, I live on the first floor, so I can hear when my neighbors above me walk... I thought that just came with living in an apartment building. It's not disruptive, it's just there. It doesn't bother me at all. And because I live on the first floor I occasionally hear my neighbors' dogs bark. I have to admit that sometimes it can get annoying, but it's gotten a lot better than what is was before. And again, I thought that just came with living in an apartment building. The leasing office told me beforehand that when moving onto the first floor that there will be dogs, so I signed that contract knowing that I may hear them bark once in a while. They don't keep me up at night, so it doesn't bother me too much. Sometimes I can even hear some of the conversations of my neighbors, for the last time, I thought that just came with living in an apartment building. It's usually pretty quite. The only thing I would call disruptive is the train that passes at night, but I knew I would hear it getting the apartment location that I did. So I can't really complain. I came to these apartment from an apartment complex that had a long list of crazy problems no one cared about, not even the management. I was broken into, my stuff was stolen and no one seemed care. So I moved here. My point in the long review is, that to come from that to this is such a blessing! I'm very happy with my experience here so far! And everything here is spoiling me so much. I was so surprised and happy not to have to walk out to a dumpster to throw my trash away. They pick up your trash at your door! The staff is lovely, the apartments are beautiful and the neighbors respect each other (at least mine seem to). Traffic can get heavy during certain times, but that just comes with being in Atlanta and it seems like they're working to get something fixed. If you can't stand hearing your neighbors walk or dog's bark, I wouldn't recommend moving into an apartment building. read more

I cannot express in words how much I absolutely love this building, the management team, and the residents many of which are now good friends. I have lived at Walton Westside for a year and I have not had any issues. I am always impressed at how fast a maintenance issue is resolved and how helpful the leasing office team is. The building is beyond gorgeous and I love hosting family and friends in my modern, chic, and very large 1 bedroom! The amenities are unbelievable and well kept. I have recommended this place to anyone I meet looking to live in an upscale ATL apartment. The neighborhood is also booming. In the morning I go to kickboxing classes next door at X3, or walk to the Pure Barre... And on Saturday's I enjoy my walk past JCT Kitchen to the free workout class at Lulu Lemon. And there's a dog park.. what more could you want. I don't typically write reviews but I have been so impressed I just have to share my story!!!! read more

As stated earlier, everything is great about the complex aside from the fire alarms. Great staff, amenities, maintenance etc. Considering the fire alarms seem to have abated over the past couple of weeks, I've updated my review to reflect that they seem to have done something about the issue. read more
